“This was an important dinner, my son who is 26, had surgery(had his tonsils removed) a couple days ago, and The recovery is described as one of the worst, and it feels like shards of glass in your throat.he has to eat soft food and he had Choices all over the Kansas City metro area. He chose Joe’s, Joe’s mac & cheese to be exact! We live on the Missouri side (Gladstone). So I decided to stop by this evening, and not only get a quart of mac & cheese for him, I grabbed dinner for myself (z-man w/ fries, ribs w/ red beans and rice, Mac and cheese) which I was reluctant to do, due to me having to drive 35 minutes home and I was worried that it was going to be Soggy and cold, Well, much to my surprise, the food was packed perfectly, my food was still hot, and my fries were still crispy! Thank you Joe’s in Leawood you did amazing! I will probably be back in the next couple of days to purchase more Joes mac & cheese! BTW this son of mine recommends Joes to everyone!! “Been wanting to try J’s for a while now and it did not disappoint. Had the burnt end sandwich (minus the cheese) and beans for a side. Burnt ends were tender and smoky with good bark. Beans were good with chunks of brisket in them. But the high light was having the owner offer a taste test of a rack of lamb he just finished. OMG!!! One of the best bbq meats I have ever eaten (and I’ve eaten a LOT). I sincerely hope it makes it on the menu! Great little BBQ spot. I’ll be back!“

“We had these guys cater our wedding in April. John was on top of everything from the initial phone call, to the details the day of the wedding and everything in between. John showed up early, had everything ready to go & managed his part of our evening perfectly. I wouldn’t hesitate to have him do another event with us. Oh…..and our guests went on and on and on about the food all night too!! If I could go above 5 stars I would. Well done John, well done!!👏🍺👏“

“Ate at the bar & service was great. Very personable & efficient bartender. Drinks & food were served as ordered. The restaurant was packed with lots of people & hardly a parking space to spare. Women's room had only one operational stool (out of three), trash on floors in all three stalls, & overflowing wastebaskets inside & outside the restroom. Staff said they handled the situation before we left, but I didn't return.“

“Don't ever got here for an holiday!!! They will quote you 2 hours and you'll have to wait 3.5 hours. The hostesses were rude and the management was even ruder. I mentioned needing to get something for my daughter (even if just a roll) since she's diabetic and had to wait extra long. I was told we would just have to wait. We left!“

“Food is really good, I've ordered many times from them but my last order included an $8.25 fee for carry out supplies. They charge a percent of the entire bill. No where in the check out process do they tell you this. This seems excessive for 6 utensil packs and 5 takeout containers. Many other BBQ places with similar price points do not charge this fee. If you are going to charge extra fees be up front about it.“

“We had a Christmas party for 22 people in December 2025. We opted for the first time to let Moose smoke the Turkey for us. That was a wise decision. The turkey was the most flavorful we've ever had. We did not have to worry about whether the turkey was done or about having guests waiting on us. Moose saved us a huge amount of time. Everyone enjoyed the meal. We also learned that if you smoke a 22 lb turkey, it only weighs about 15 lbs after smoking. In the future, we would choose 22 lbs and another 15 lbs for that many guests.“

“We don't get out to K & M often, but thoroughly enjoy it when we do. I had the combination dinner with brisket and turkey, with cole slaw and cottage cheese for my sides. Service is always fast and friendly, the decor cute and homey with a western feel. Great sauces, pork tenderloins, and onion rings, too! I generally don't need this much sauce, but I was really feeling the spicy sauce today, don't judge 😂.“

“I like the BBQ @ Sierra. It is different I compare it to Carolina BBQ. The yellow sauce has a bit too much mustard ,for my taste, but everything else is excellent! Friendly and fast service. The beer is “cold”. Give it a try you will like it !“

“Stay away. They cheat you out of food. I paid for 2 meals, 1 to eat there and 1 to take home for lunch. Waitress threw away my to go meal when I went to BR. Before I left, I asked for them to replace it. Manager said that was her fault, not his, and refused to replace it. They cheat you out of food. Manager is lying in his response. I spoke to him before I left and asked where my 2nd meal was and then to replace it. All in the same visit.“

“My only complaint is that we felt so rushed. The waitstaff asked for drink orders before I even had my coat off. Appetizers were served before drinks, checks were delivered and and an attempt to get my husband's plate before he was done eating. The waitstaff was very nice and she kept saying “no rush” but we felt very rushed. The need to turn over the table seemed more important than our comfort.“

From the time I arrived I met the owner Mr. Steve Zarda & he greeted me and treated me like a life-long friend of his. That alone made my day as a Trucker bcuz sometimes we get treated like dirt out here. We talked outside as I was about to come in & he started walking with me as I told him I was from Big D Dallas and I was stopping by to check this place out. Not knowing i was walking & talking with the owner of Zarda the whole time. He allowed me to tell him how I was sitting n my big truck checking out the reviews of this place & the reviews were great. He kindly smiled and said, Hi, my name is Steve Zarda and I'm the owner. I was blown away folks bcuz he was outside washing the pad around the drive thru & the back door. Now I'm really, really impressed with him as a man & his work ethics as mine. Well we proceeded inside & it was very, very clean, nicely decorated, a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere to be in. Mr. Zarda introduced me to his entire staff which were some of the nicest, coolest, professional young people I've seen n a long time on a job folks. Nobody was texting & half ignoring me as a customer. They were all so nice, knowledgeable of the menu and anxious to help me. That made my day all the way. Mr. Zarda said since this is your first time here I'm going to take care of U. And lord knows he did just that folks. They made sure I was totally and completely happy, full & complete. Lol.. I couldn't eat all that food but I definitely took my to go bag like a champ. The food was to die for folks, the ribs were smoked perfectly & falling off the bone, all the 3 different beans i tried were unbelievable to the taste buds, the onion rings were fried to perfection with a light crunch & the beef & pork burnt ends were just right, they melted n yo mouth with a edge of crunchyness. All I can say is this folks, this is truly, truly my new found BBQ place in Lenexa, KS. Whenever I'm trucking thru here. Just to know I have a place to stop away from home & I'm treated like a dear friend Instead of a customer by the owner & all his staff from front to back, hell that alone is worth my time, money & support folks. I'm asking all my friends, family members, my biker community and all my truckers who come thru Kansas, please stop here & check them out folks. You'll be glad u did & you'll thank me later.
