“This was an important dinner, my son who is 26, had surgery(had his tonsils removed) a couple days ago, and The recovery is described as one of the worst, and it feels like shards of glass in your throat.he has to eat soft food and he had Choices all over the Kansas City metro area. He chose Joe’s, Joe’s mac & cheese to be exact! We live on the Missouri side (Gladstone). So I decided to stop by this evening, and not only get a quart of mac & cheese for him, I grabbed dinner for myself (z-man w/ fries, ribs w/ red beans and rice, Mac and cheese) which I was reluctant to do, due to me having to drive 35 minutes home and I was worried that it was going to be Soggy and cold, Well, much to my surprise, the food was packed perfectly, my food was still hot, and my fries were still crispy! Thank you Joe’s in Leawood you did amazing! I will probably be back in the next couple of days to purchase more Joes mac & cheese! BTW this son of mine recommends Joes to everyone!! We landed on this location after we learned about the 1.5 hours wait for the Freight House location - the first open table at the Freight House was 8:15pm and the current time was 6:30pm. We checked the Plaza and they had a 7:15pm - let's go! They did not disappoint! We had the jalapeno corn bread, sausages, burnt ends, ribs, chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, beans, and french fries! Topped it off with a creme brulee. Service was definitely one of the best customer experiences I had - we did not have to ask for refills, the waiters came by the table and checked in at a comfortable cadence. Definitely would dine again.“

“Chef J's BBQ was incredible! I was lucky enough to be able to order The Boss, therefore I got to try the Brisket and Jalapeno BBQ Sausage and both tasted fresh with the perfect amount of smoke. The ratio of fat and tender meat on the Brisket was perfect. My girlfriend and I showed up hungry and left with a full belly. The staff that work at Chef J's BBQ make you feel like your eating at home. 10 out of 10 experience!“

“My husband and I had the best experience at this restaurant. The food was good as always. During our meal my husband had to use the rest room. He has some dementia and can’t walk very well. Unfortunately we were sitting at a table which was on the complete opposite side of the restaurant from the rest room. The server noticed our dilemma and said she would guide him over to the restroom. She was back immediately. I said, “Oh, he won’t be able to find his way back to this table.” The server told me not to worry about it. The restaurant manager had taken him over and would wait and bring him back. That is undoubtedly the kindest thing that has ever happened to us in a restaurant. Thank you to the wonderful people at the RoanRidge Texas Roadhouse.“

“I cannot express enough how amazed I am with the customer service. Yesterday (Super Bowl Sunday—-GO CHIEFS!) I placed an online order. My pick up time was at 5 (earliest I could get because I waited too long to place the order) I arrive early hoping it would be done earlier because I had people arriving at my house and I didn’t want to miss the game. When I arrived it was packed on people waiting. I assumed I was going to be there for awhile so asked if I could order a beer. They got me a beer and a chair. As I sat there for over an hour (it went past my pick up time) I saw all of the employees working very hard trying their best to fill the orders quickly. Some of the customers were being quite rude to the girls up front as the customers were upset their food wasn’t ready. The girls did an amazing job keeping everyone calm they would simply just smile and tell them they are working on it. I was so impressed how these girls handled themselves not one time did I hear them get snippy with a customer even tho I’m sure they wanted to. It was always a smile with a polite response. I was there almost til the end and a guy started yelling at the girls and still it was a smile and polite response. I got my food and made it for the game and the food was delicious as always!“

“For 4 people to eat lunch was about $140. The staff was extremely nice. I was not impressed with the way they priced every item individually. The meat was good and the sauce zesty. But we didn't care for the green beans and thought the price of the side dishes were a little high, but all in all I'd recommend this place“

“I was in Kansas City for a brief visit and decided to have dinner one evening at this location. I had the filet mignon and it was excellent. Cocktail service was also very good, which isn't always the case at chain restaurants. It was a busy night but the staff were attentive and friendly. I'd eat here again without hesitation.“

“It was Easter Sunday just before noon. Our group was 13 adults and 2 children. Our server Lane was AMAZING. So pleasant, friendly, was always checking on us making sure we had everything we needed. Not one glass ran empty and was on top of the refills. All our food was delicious. With our large group on an Easter Sunday we could not ask for someone as professional as Lane. Great job Lane!!!!“

“I had I think the most delicious chicken and pear salad I’ve ever had in my life here. There was a couple of conferences going on inside the hotel so the restaurant and bar area was crowded and there was only one staff person waiting on everyone. I don’t know what the situation was in the kitchen however, even though I had to wait for a service, I knew they were doing their best and when my salad came, it was so delicious. I also ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and it was a very generous pour maybe making up for the lack of help that day. It did help me enjoy my lunch very much. I would go there just to go there even if I wasn’t attending anything at the hotel.“

I really liked it with beef though. The ribs were way better than expected too--not as nuanced as Joe's, but with a better bark. Service lives up to the reputation, but this is not fine dining. You'll heal. Great jazz piped into the dining room too, which stands out for the atmosphere.“
