“Just kind of stumbled upon Cafe gratitude this morning. We aren’t from KC and decided to walk a bit before we headed home, we had no idea it was a vegan restaurant. We decided to try it out and were delightfully surprised. The flavors were delicious. The protein substitutes were done perfectly. We all tried some thing we wouldn’t typically order and we left very satisfied. Our server was great, she did a wonderful job of explaining things to us and really made it a great experience. The ambience is something I wish I would’ve thought of myself. I loved everything about Café gratitude. Thanks for a wonderful experience.“

“Many years ago, my wife and I had a membership to this place, and it was always good times. We stopped because we became parents and live a little ways away. We came in today, with our 2.5 y/o tot, and it's still so good. They hooked my daughter up with a Capri Sun and popcorn, so super kid friendly!

My wife loves sours, and when on tap, the Trampled Rose was her fave, Today she really enjoyed the Unsolicited Dill Pics. I generally enjoy IPA's, but today I broke away from Tesselation, and tried Liquid Grit (which tasted like Fall in a glass) and the Drewid Rituals (Red Ale).

“The food was very good. The service was lacking, to the point it felt rude and rushed. Asking questions seemed upset the waiter. He just wanted us to order our food, Taking our order, bringing the beer, and placing the bill on our table is all he did. The plates were delivered by other staff, and ordering bread during the meal was also by a different staff member. The waiter we had never checked in. He was just just terrible with no personality at all. When eating out, I want to enjoy myself and not feel frustrated because of a rude waiter. I really felt like tipping his co-worker.“

“Awful!!! The chicken was grease soaked & pink, the noodles were overcooked, the Alfredo sauce had so much grease and oil sitting on top. I took a few bites & hours later threw up! The "manager" was supposed to call me for a refund and that never happened. I will never be back or ever recommend. Horrible customer service - thanks for the hour wait for the meal delivery as well as food that was not edible. Also the no call back "to make it right"“

“Kate’s kitchen is amazing! It’s a smaller establishment so it doesn’t seat a whole lot of people, but the food is so good that I’d imagine that there usually is a wait time for a table. The service was great. Attentive staff. Prices are incredible! Definitely you’re getting your money’s worth! Very pleased with this visit.“

“Wings are the best I’ve had outside of Buffalo, but sadly the blue cheese was tasteless. Our waitress was nice but brought us the wrong appetizer and often left our drinks unfilled. If you are a Bills fan, DO NOT come here for a Bills/Chiefs game. It was torture. WAY more Chiefs fans than Bills fans and some of them were downright mean, profane, and vulgar, mocking the Bills fans and loudly chanting, “F*ck Josh Allen!” I brought my 15-year old son and I cannot say that it was family friendly. SO MUCH profanity, plus a TV right in front of our table was playing some awful blood and gore show the whole time we were there. It needed to be tuned to the game or turned off. The TVs kept losing their signal, plus they were often not in sync with each other and were always well behind the live game, so patrons were watching on their phones and loudly announcing what we were about to see happen on the screens. Plus the sound was terrible. Apparently the jukebox was messed up, so a guy was going around turning individual TV volumes up, but it was impossible to hear anything. When my son went to use the bathroom, there was no door on it, just a curtain, which he found uncomfortable. So in summary, really good wings, but don’t expect a Bills-friendly atmosphere. It was a soul-crushing experience and my son was begging to leave, but we couldn’t get out fast enough because we never got a check or the box I asked for. I found a box myself and the waitress finally took my credit card after I waved it around for a few moments.“

“Used to live across the street years ago. Watched the city bus driver regularly jump out of the driver's seat at the corner stop, run in and grab his to-go breakfast in the mornings. “Room 39 was the perfect spot for my only night in Kansas City. I made the mistake of deciding to go vegetarian, right before I visited a city famous for its bbq meat! So glad I found this gem of a restaurant. I had a perfect table by the window, with the radiator under the table making it cozy and toasty. The cocktails and dishes were fantastic - two Boulevardiers, a Brussels sprout soup, gnocchi with goat cheese, and the flourless chocolate cake with Earl Grey tea. My server Tory was terrific. “My husband and I had the best experience at this restaurant. The food was good as always. During our meal my husband had to use the rest room. He has some dementia and can’t walk very well. Unfortunately we were sitting at a table which was on the complete opposite side of the restaurant from the rest room. The server noticed our dilemma and said she would guide him over to the restroom. She was back immediately. I said, “Oh, he won’t be able to find his way back to this table.” The server told me not to worry about it. The restaurant manager had taken him over and would wait and bring him back. “This place was fantastic! It was our anniversary and we were greeted with a “Happy Anniversary” by every staff member we encountered. When we got to our table, there was a card waiting with rose petals. I ordered the filet medallions, Oscar style. My steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender. My husband ordered the NY Strip and his was also perfect. We ordered a side of au gratin potatoes to share. They were cheesy and delicious. The patron margarita I had was also very good. At the end of dinner, they brought out complimentary champagne and dessert. The dessert was bananas foster, with ice cream and chocolate cookies. We drove down from Omaha for the night and decided it was worth the drive! We will definitely be back!“
