“The orange chicken and chow mein were cooked to perfection. Moist and tender, not overcooked. The staff was also a well oiled machine. Everyone was communicating and all the dishes were well stocked. It was a beautiful site! We had a small order so someone opened a second register and we were quickly out the door.Parking: The parking lot should be marked a one way. Not enough room to have 2 way traffic. Larger trucks might have difficulty navigating around the building.“
“A great restaurant nestled in a fairly quiet neighborhood. The food was very good (with local recommendations, I didn't pick the most flavorful items). We received a good amount of food for not a bad price. Apparently this is a very popular spot for takeout on lunch breaks.Vegetarian options: Lots of customizability for vegetarians and labeled vegetarian/vegan options“
“Really best for dine-in. Food is good. Northern china cuisine. As a non-Chinese, I appreciate that the menu has color photographs of most every item. Favorites are the spicy fish, twice cooked pork, glass noodles w pork, and sweet and sour pork (mostly just sweet). Okay were house noodles, noodles w fermented cabbage, braised knuckles. Least favorite was the dumpling soup -- mainly because I'm not a fan of cilantro. Place is small, but cute and clean. Service is prompt and friendly.“
“It’s pretty cool to watch them making the dumplings. The service was good. The lady was super pleasant. You can a complimentary bowl of soup which was flavorful and warming. We ordered the chicken dumplings and the crab & pork dumplings. The crab and pork were the better of the two but both lacked a bit of flavor. You definitely couldn’t tell that crab was in there. The chicken was fried nice and crispy but don’t be fooled by the menu saying “hot wings” because nothing about these are hot. They barely even have any seasoning and they give you a side of sweet ketchup. Do make sure you grab a sparkling water tho because it’s probably some of the best I’ve had.“
“We were told to wait 35 minutes but we ended up waiting for an hour. But for Chinese food, we shall wait Meanwhile we bought Smoked oolong bbt, less sweet. It was very legit! We ordered the beef tripe cold dish, it’s chewy and spicy, worth ordering if you can handle spice. The beef hand-pulled noodles were a little disappointing as the noodles were mushy and not chewy as it should be. Eggplant dish was very yummy too, we drenched our rice bowls with the sauce!“
“The Food was really good exceptional even better than I expected. The rice was fluffy not dry with bean sprouts onion green pepper and eggs I got special loaded with meat. The wings were on point and I will def be back. The service was fast and friendly and the food was served hot and fresh. It's a smallish front bout who cares the atmosphere was good and they are serious about their product. We will be back and we will bring friends“
“The best restaurant in Saint Louis. The food is so flavorful. I tried the gnocchi and the tofu dish and it was the best tasting dishes of those type I have ever had. You might require a reservation and the space is a bit limited, but the staff is very accommodating.“
“BEST VALUE for your money. They are a little bit short staffed, and, can be a bit of a wait. However, once you get the food, it's hot and DELICIOUS authentic Asian food. If you don't like the wait, you may order on the phone.I love it here , Vicky the owner is the best, and, so is the food in this small restaurant. Also, the bathroom is the back since it's an old Taco Bell store. Everything else is EXCELLENT.“
“Basil India makes some of the most flavorful Indian food I've had in recent memory. Every dish I've tried is bursting with flavor, and is served temperature-hot, and spicy-hot (if you please). Vegan options are few, but those they do have are excellent. The wait staff are friendly and attentive.Yet I don't enjoy hanging out in the restaurant. It is too brightly lit (at certain tables, you feel spotlighted), the furniture is not comfortable, and, worst of all, it is loud. You will hear clamor from the kitchen, the loud banter of other diners, and music that is turned up too high. I enjoy the food immensely, but when I dine in, I want to eat as quickly as possible so I can get out of there. It's not relaxing. If Basil India can fix the ambiance, five stars all the way! In the meantime, I will keep ordering the incomparably zesty Vegan Tikka Masala for takeout.Vegetarian options: Vegan Tikka Masala is amazingly flavorful. Lotus Seed Thai Curry is a close second.“
“Food is great here, the area is a little sketchy, but my issue was how high the prices went up. Last time I went (4 weeks ago), I ordered a whole order of shrimp fried rice added egg, bean sprouts, and green onion. That was a $20 box of rice. Too much for some veggies added and egg.“
“I liked the majority of the food. Number 68, the shrimp was actually so bad. However, the rest of the bowl was nice if you added chili oil. The cilantro stems were a little too long for my liking though. Number 11 was delicious. The service was nice. Keep in mind that I am not familiar with this type of food. Overall, the food was great.“
“Fresh, fast and tasty. The way how the menu is structured, you can mix any combination of noodles, rice or buns with a variety of proteins and sauces.I tried the vermicelli with shrimp and sweet and sour sauce and it was very good. They baos were also great either way the peanut sauce.“
“DD Mau has become our first choice for Asian food, it’s so delicious that we visit at least once a week! Really appreciate the extensive vegan options, and that the food and service are both consistently excellent. They are a bit more expensive than some similar options, but I am happy to pay a little more to count on the food and service both being great. I also like that the owner is there regularly and actively engaged in the business.“
“Food was fantastic. Servings are large. Menu is a little confusing -- I wasn't sure if I'd get sauce so I unnecessarily double ordered. Beat crab rangoon in St. Louis. Might be the best Beef w/Broccoli I've ever had. Potstickers are above average. A little thick for my taste.“
“I have been going here since I was a kid, many years ago! Moved around a lot due to military and never found better tasting Chinese food!John, the owner makes the best dishes, consistently good. I return whenever I’m in town, he knows me by name and remembers my order.Best food, best customer service , a must have if you’re in the STL area. You can thank me later ?Parking: Open lot with plenty of spaces, free parking.“
“This was my first time going to dim sum in St. Louis. I was surprised at how spacious the store was with its high ceilings. The staff was passing around putting dim sum in a cart, and it was an authentic style where you could take what you liked. The fried rice had a good taste, but the rice was crushed. I couldn't eat the seafood dim sum that I was looking for, so I would like to get revenge again. Prices are also reasonable.“
“27 years and i have never heard a complaint about their food...the location is bad but thats what makes it unique and heavily regarded...hood chop sueys are the best...and this one is by far the best in the State if not, the country...5 stars because the location is not bad to me..im from that street...All Love and the Yet Bun family will always have the hood's respect and security...Rice is never dry or bland..plain rice taste good you know its poppin..conclusion HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for anyone not scared to go there...BEST CHINESE COOKED FOOD PERIOD...“
“Tiny spring rolls, with thin paper!STILL GOT THE FREE VESS @ the hood chinamen. Popular in the neighborhood. Quick service. No call-in orders, no waiting area, no heat. *update what did I find in Family Dollar down the street? Do you see it.“
“I’ve been to Cate Zone, the other good Chinese place in STL. Two very different restaurants, but Vegas Wok edges them out. 10 (no need to add on to the bill since no waiters) bucks buys a fantastic beef plate with veggies and rice and an excellent crab Rangoon. Many other things on the menu, like pork and braised beef and scallops. All good. I’ve never been in a smaller restaurant but it never gets too busy to get a table.“
“They are ok. Not the best in st.Louis I asked for dark rice, it was not dark, I asked for no onions or Bean sprouts of course they added onions. After picking out the onions the food was still good.Vegetarian options: Veggie rice is cool. They don’t add a lot of veggies tho.“
“The quality of the food is superb. $9.99 for an all you can eat lunch buffet is a steal. Small buffet, lots of chicken options limited beef and seafood. All of the chicken dishes were above average. Very good. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy. The biggest take away from the visit was that the chef was constantly coming out checking the quality of the food and removing anything that had been sitting for too long.“
“I'm giving five stars because I'm SO excited to see authentic Chinese dishes on a take out style Chinese place menu. I have yet to try the authentic ones but the food I did get was pretty decent. Not the best or the worst I've had. Just soild take out Chinese. The price is really what sways me here. It's so affordable compared to other Chinese places. AND they offer free add ons if you spend a certain amount. I got a whole pack of 4 delicious crispy Wantons for spending 20 dollars or more. Are you kidding me?! That is amazing. I'm just sad I can't order delivery from here all the time because it's too far from my house.“
“We were staying at the Wyndham by the airport and ordered for delivery. They were fast and very pleasant in person and on the phone. We ordered General Tso's Chicken and a Pu Pu Platter for Two. They were both very reasonably priced and delicious. I also ordered Lo Mein and asked for mushrooms and onions in it. It was perfect! The whole order was correct and only about $30. I will definitely eat here again if I am in the area.“
“The food is good, especially for the price. They dont put peas and carrots in their rice like most county chinese food places do. I called my order in and called back to change it and the person who handled my order was very kind and patient.“
“We never been here before and lived close to it for 7 years! Best Chinese food around and c Robert and his wife Wing are very friendly and remember customers and their names! Will be going back for Moreeeee!!!!!!!! They are open Monday through Saturday from 12 noon to 6 PM!“
“This is a little hole in the wall in a tiny strip mall. I had read decent reviews and was excited to try the place. I placed an order by phone and was told it would be 10 minutes. I got the combo plate as I ordered after the lunch hours. It was the pepper steak with onions, with white rice instead of fried rice, with crab Rangoon. The serving size was ample. The food was all still hot when I opened it at home. The dining room was closed, so it is strictly carryout. The staff was friendly. The food was delicious, and I look forward to trying other menu items when I come back.“
“The ladies I was talking to said they had been there for 41 years.... the Food tells you that is the reason. It smells so good in the restaurant. Food smells so good it isn't funny as to how much shrill giggles I got from my wife and daughter when they smelled the food as I walk into the house. We are so full but will definitely make this the only place we go for chinise food in St. Louis. I LOVE HO!!!!!!“
“If you are into Thai Cuisine then this is the spot to go in the CWE! The hospitality is great! Everyone is so friendly. The Lo Mien is superb! Every time I go I try something new. If you are in to egg drop soup, they have the best! For you spicy lovers, Start with the Spicy Thai Curry Chicken it’s pretty tasty. The mango milk tea is just the right blend of sweet, fruity, and still the classic tea flavor. They are mid range as far as your money, so $20 at lunch will get you some wings, noodles or rice and a drink. They also have lunch and dinner combos too. Go check them out!“
“Best Chinese food in STL. The food is hot and always fresh. The rice is STL style and fried. I enjoy the chicken or shrimp fried rice. But the special fried rice come with all the following as well as beef. Their platters are reasonably priced. Honey chicken is one of my my favorite combos. The St. Paul sandwiches are delicious as well. Their fried wontons is my favorite appetizers but the eggrolls are delicious as well. This place has been open for about 40 years that i know of and has been in the same place. You will Njoy this food! And they have Vess soda which is StL stample. Njoy!.“
“I go there for saint paul sandwiches only so my rating is for them only. If you looking for total menu sorry. Their saint paul sandwiches are the best I drive ? 10 miles for them, dedicated. They are hard to catch though. Their so good they can control their hours ?“
“The best Fried Rice in STL. It's dark and flavorful. This time I went and tried the happybox. Yes it was heavy and too much And yes it was a flavor bomb! You can definitely share this one. I lived in STL for over 30 years and this is my fav fried rice for sure! My parens who are native St Louisans as well and grew up on the North side agree.“
“I took my daughter who's 2 on her first bus ride. It must've been God's Plan. Our scheduled day had changed just as our little adventure had begun. At first, we were just going to go home. Instead, we detoured inside to the KING CHOP SUEY on West Florissant. We had such a wonderful and memorable time! The lady took our order and was so very patient. She made our day so much better. (I wish I had learned her name.) My daughter and I sat in and ate. Well, I sat, the baby sat every once in a while. (terrible 2's ?) No one complained, made faces, or gave any attitude. The food was SO GOOD, even the Crab Rangoon! It was hot, fresh and made just as asked. She called out my order as a number but I didn't have one. (it's on the receipt btw). I told her she hadn't given me a number. She didn't argue that she did or give me any flack. She just asked what I ordered. I found it later in my pocket later with my change. (Sorry Ma'am ?) I also asked for something so my daughter could eat on her own. She gave me a cute little baby sized box. It was perfect. The place was very clean, AND I felt safe, which is really something to say in St. Louis City. So, as we're walking through the door later that night, when we FINALLY got home, the first thing my daughter said was RICE!! So we ate the leftovers. That was probably the clearest thing I've heard this girl say besides No, Mama, and Juice. Thank You Guys So Much!!! If ever I get another chance, I'll be back. I definitely recommend this location to others. A much better than their competitors. (Place Unspoken)Kid-friendliness: My daughter and I sat in and ate. Well, I sat, the baby sat every once in a while. (terrible 2's ?) No one complained, made faces, or gave any attitude. I also asked for something so my daughter could eat on her own. She gave me a cute little baby sized box. It was perfect. So, as we're walking through the door later that night, when we FINALLY got home, the first thing my daughter said was RICE!! “I wanted to try a St. Paul Sandwich, and Old St Louis Chop Suey came up as having a great one. I had my doubts, but the service was great, and the sandwich was excellent. I have not tried the rest of their menu, but if you are looking for the unique experience of a St. Paul sandwich, this is your spot.“
“This is one of the best places in st. louis to get rice. Only thing is they are getting sometimey with the flavor profile. I personally love their pork fried rice and have not had any to match it yet. and the crab ragoon, forget about it!!!!! Excellent. All in all a place I love to frequent.“
“For the price, the food was great. Are there better options out there nearby? Possibly but they will be double the cost. The fried rice was a little greasy and I'd prefer more veggies and eggs but for $10 a plate, I didn't expect to get food as good as I actually did. Will definitely be back.Vegetarian options: The tofu is alright. Could be better and I've had worst.“
“Best Chinese food hands down I live in the county and I drive here once a month sometimes twice to get me and the family the Saint Paul, the best crab Rangoon, fried chicken wings, I get shrimp fried rice with ham extra eggs and yes bean sprouts Omg so good I also love there funnel cakes!!?“
“Very inexpensive but the reason is that the food is vegetable heavy. Food is still very good and if you're a veggie fan, probably the best place in town.I'm an out of towner but the St Paul Sandwich was good. I can't compare it to whatever the St Louis standard is though.“
“I just have to say this place is good. It's in the area that I probably wouldn't be caught dead in at night. But the food is amazing. I got the happy box. It had pork shrimp c*** duck meat egg food, young and fried rice. The shrimp are huge. Everything was just amazing, and I got my friend. A? Hot spice. Chicken Box with crab meat and everything was just amazing. If you have the opportunity to get out and try this place, please. If the food is just out of this world, they do everything. Cook to order it's not sitting up under a light or anything. The menu is in it's huge so you just gotta get out there and just try some new things. I'm going to give them another shot while I'm here in the Saint Louis area. For the next couple of weeks, it's truly amazing that you won't be disappointed. The service is next to none. You gotta enjoy it and the IB. I swallow it's in a local shopping M all but next to the snooks. I wouldn't eat there, but truly, it's a carry out place, so get there early. Get everything that you want to head home and enjoy.“
“Such a homey restaurant. It reminds me of my grandparents houses. The food is very authentic and delicious. Reminds me of a home cooked meal from my grandparents. Food served quickly and it's hot when it gets to your table. Rice is self-service and it isn't the freshest rice but you can get as much as you need. They do ask what you would like to drink but you can also grab it yourself at the fridge in the front of the restaurant. Desserts are also self service in the same fridge. 100% recommend the egg pudding.“
“I'm not sure why I have never been here ...I guess maybe outside appearances , I don't know , but I tried it on my way home from work and ordered General Tso's chicken combo. I have to say.... This was one of the best General Tsos chicken I have had I. A long time . It was spicy , which is rare and I loved it. The broccoli was fresh and had crunch . The crab Rangoon and egg roll were very good too . They have a new customer now“
“On a busy Tuesday afternoon, I was craving some fast and authentic Korean-Chinese food. I haven't been able to find a place that fulfilled my cravings until now! I ordered one Jjamppong Seafood ($19) and one Sweet and Sour Pork ($16) to-go. Along with my dishes, fresh rice and a side of kimchi were packed. Even after the delivery time, the food was piping hot, fragrant, and fresh. The Jjamppong Seafood had fresh noodles that complimented well with its sweet, slightly spicy, and garlicky broth. For a flavorful seafood noodle soup, I found around three shrimps, a good amount of tender octopus, a couple chewy mussels (slightly over cooked possibly due to the very hot broth), and a variety of vegetables-zucchini, onions, and carrots. For my Sweet and Sour Pork, I was surprised at the small amount of fried, battered pork with it being $16. However, the pork dipped in the delightfully tangy and sweet sauce packed a lot of punch. If you're not a fan of tangy, almost-vinegary flavors, I would not recommend it to you. To explain my 4/5 stars rating, the kimchi was very salty and bland. I wasn't sure if this was a new batch of kimchi that had not been fermenting long enough or if they made it with a lot of salt to begin with. I had hoped to refresh my palate with a bite of kimchi but could not bring myself to overcome its overwhelmingly saltiness. Lastly, menu items are on the pricier side. Personally, I thought the Jjamppong Seafood was worth it, considering its well-sized portion. Overall, both my dishes did not disappoint! If you are new to trying Korean-Chinese food or even trying to find somewhere good, I would highly recommend this restaurant! I'll definitely be back in-person to explore more of the menu. P.S. Do you prefer soaking the pork/beef in the sweet and sour sauce or just dipping?! I prefer the latter to maintain the meat's crunch!“
“Ambiance = none I stopped in for plain white steamed rice to go. The smells are AMAZINGLY DELIGHTFUL so upon entering I was disappointed to see a large too With really no decor only tables and chairs. I did not go on a tour, nor peruse the online photos so I'm guessing that the back rooms are sexy intimate dining rooms. But that's for you to check out! Enjoy“
“The food here was great. Rice was smoky and delicious and lo mein had bell peppers and a slightly sweet|sour sauce on the carrots. A different take that we really enjoyed. Staff was also very kind when we got stuck due to a tornado warning.“
“Had there food for first time a order of shrimp fried rice and order beef fried rice and Crab Ragoon omg it was very good cant believe ive been passing by this place coming home everyday and just Trying 4 1/2 Star Ratings only because Parking jack up.“
“We’ve been going to Wan Fu for years and loved Helen and Alan who I hope are enjoying their retirement!Having big shoes to fill, the new Wan Fu is fantastic! They have a lot of the fan favorite original Wan Fu menu items but have also made it their own by adding other delicious items. So glad that Wan Fu lives on and is thriving!“
“This little gem ? was a wonderful place to stop in for you favorite Chinese take out. The establishment is very clean. The lobby and restrooms were sparkling. Service is friendly, efficient, and customer focused. The food was really fresh and tasty. We got the appetizer sampler, cashew shrimp, and pepper steak. There was way more food than 2 people could eat for lunch. We chose to dine in and their presentation was lovely! It felt much more elevated than a typical strip mall take out shop. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who has a craving for plump rangoons and tasty fried rice.Wheelchair accessibility: Parking lot, side walks and store are ample, stable, and accessible by wheelchair or other mobility devices.“
“Someone mentioned that the Ham Fried Rice is the best around. True. Crab Rangoon was way above average delicious as well. Delivered by what was probably the gentleman that started this family business 70 years ago or however long it's been around. Love that kind of family business. What an absolute delight!“
“Definitely a whole in the wall dive joint with no place for inside dining. Take cash because they don’t accept credit cards. This was the best place I have had for Chinese food. I got a St. Paul sandwich with Chicken Wings and Veggie Fried Rice. This place hits different from any other Chinese restaurants. Everything is seasoned well with lots of flavor.I will definitely return when I come back to visit St. Louis!“
“Our normal Chinese place was closed today so we tried Yen Ching. The taste of the sweet n sour chicken and cashew chicken sauces was very good but it was very thick. The chicken was crispy. The crab rangoon was very good! The fried rice was not fried at all, it was just white rice with some crisp vegetables. The egg drop soup was littlerally a bowl of eggs...there was no soup involved. The customer servuce was great. They were quick, food was hot and the restaurant was very clean. My review is based on my own preferences and just thought others would benefit from it. It was fairly expensive @ $43 for 2 meals and an appetizer“
