“We have been trying to get in for months, maybe even years. Yesterday my friend got a notice (from being on the waitlist) there was a table and she was able to get one. And we were thrilled. We got there early, and since we have never been the 4 only bar seats actually aren’t for a bar. So we were turned away to just have a drink. But this was completely on us, and it fully say bar is first come first serve and they we’re very nice about it. We just didn’t know how strict that was. So we went next door for a drink and came back promptly for our reservation.Well let me say this place is worth the wait. Easily one of the best restaurant in St Louis. Our server Mike was amazing. He gave great drink recs and sold every dish with his descriptions. Everything was more than perfect. The food, the staff, the ambience. It all makes perfect sense why this place is jammed. I only hope we can get on the list sooner than later, but we will be trying. 10 out of 10!! Keep it up Wright’s Tavern!!Parking: Easy to find free street parking after 5, but could see how busier days may be more limited.“

“This is a GREAT neighborhood restaurant! Great ambiance in the front room! Very good wine list; we thoroughly enjoyed the Manzone Gramolere Barolo. The food was excellent, and the portions quite large on the Chicken Marsala. One of the specials was Divers Scallops on a bed of risotto, and the scallops were perfectly done. Service after the entree could have been more attentive.“

“Such a cool vibe at this well decorated Latin American fare restaurant! Our family went there for brunch so had both the brunch & lunch menus available to us - the empanadas that we treated as starters were phenomenal and so many choices for the mains. Corey was our server and he was phenomenal, embodying the can-do, customer-first spirit.....and super friendly. Cant wait to go back there for a dinner next time!“

“If you love food bursting with flavor made fresh to order in a friendly atmosphere you need to go to Jalea! Every time I’ve been here, the experience is 5 stars! The owner and his family are welcoming and value their customers. It’s very apparent in their service and quality of the dishes! I love that there isn’t a 5 page menu to dig through. They have their set menu and they have mastered every single dish! From the arroz con pollo seasoned to perfection, to the seafood ceviche your tastebuds will be dancing with delight! You must start with the plantain chips (1 order is not enough lol) and finish off with their tiramisu and Colombian coffee made fresh to order! So glad to have found this place! Call ahead on a weekend night, it is definitely worth any wait!“

“We went there at around 7:50pm. We didn't have any reservations and the wait time was 45 mins. When we finally got our table the wait time for food was minimal. We started with freshly baked soft bread while waiting. The food was delicious. Capellini alla Zia was my favorite followed by Cannelloni. The server was very nice and attentive. The ambience was nice but too loud, lol ?I suggest book a reservation if you want to avoid long waiting time.“

“Our server Josh (yes, coincidence) nailed it. Attentive but not overbearing. The cocktails were a hit too, and I'd recommend the Apple Bottom Jeans and the Violet Mojito. My wife and I stuck to small plates as we weren't in the mood for large plates. The lobster roll was out of this world, and while it looks small, they manage to pack so much delectable lobster into it. The pork belly was also incredible though it was light on the amount of pork belly in it. The spam fried rice was really good. The chili flakes elevate the entire plate, but if you don't like spicy food, I might suggest you get something else. Finally, the cheddar biscuits...they weren't very good. They were a bit tough, not fluffy, and were portioned in a way that made them awkward to eat (too tall). I would not recommend the biscuits. But overall, great experience, 4.5/5.“

“Can be a little loud when they are busy. Food is good and you get lots, won't leave hungry.Parking: Depending on how busy they are, sometimes parking is not great. Restaurant shares parking with a convenience type store/sandwich shop, and I believe a laundromat around the corner.“

“We sat outside for lunch, cute patio, comfortable and inviting. The server was very good, we didn't have to wait for anything, drinks were very good the Hanger steak & fries was the absolute best Hanger steak I've ever had, the chimichuri was a great compliment to the steak. “This is a VERY nice restaurant in Clayton. I didn't realize it was fine dining and showed up in a hoodie and jeans. At first, I was concerned that I would be turned away or treated differently because of my attire, but that wasn't the case. We ( my son and I) were led to a booth and ordered drinks. My son ordered a burger, which looked delicious. He confirmed that it was. I ordered the lobster bisque, and it was to die for!! Velvety smooth and full of chunks of lobster! Honestly, the BEST lobster bisque I've ever had! For dessert, we had cheesecake, and again, it was divine! The atmosphere is beautiful!! You are immediately filled with a sense of calm. Its the kind of place you would take someone for a very special occasion...like a marriage proposal. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient. We were well taken care of and will definitely be back!Kid-friendliness: It is NOT a place for small children.“

“Amazing food, service and staff across the board. Our waiter Maz is in the team picture of best 5 waiters I’ve ever had. Attentive beyond necessity! What waiter pours 3 guys bottled beers into a frosty glass? Maz does! Total understanding of menu, ingredients and recommendations! Highly recommend this restaurant and ask for Maz! Definitely will be back next time i’m in St. Louis!“

“This is in contention with the fanciest place that I've ever had dinner. I had the steak and mashed potatoes, both of which were the best that I've ever had. I added a succulent bone marrow butter that I still think about from time to time. The service is top notch as you would expect. If you are driving you have to valet park. Be prepared for that. Also, plan to spend money. It was the most expensive ticket that I've ever had.“

“This was a night out with my brothers and friends. We enjoyed the atmosphere. The drinks were okay. The bloody mary was simple, not much zing to the taste. It was kind of bland. Our server was polite and friendly. We were treated to vocals from retired football tight end Jackie Smith. He sounded great that night. A nice place for dinner or just cocktails after donner.“

“Hello. I am a "regular" now at Oceano Bistro (and I have been for a while). It's about time I wrote a review. The food here is excellent. The service is wonderful. The atmosphere is open and welcoming. I have my place at the bar that provides me with a great spot to view all the action. I would like to thank and recognize the following individuals: Alex, Robert, Scotty, Ben, Jake, Mary, Matt (bar/server), Matt (kitchen), Armando (kitchen), Ann, Pierre, Marena, Amy, Sasha and ... last but not least ... Amer. I know I am missing a few names here ... sorry. I look forward to my next visit. See you soon everyone. CHEERS.“

“This restaurant has such a nice ambiance and peace about it. I loved the atmosphere and the waitresses and waiters were phenomenal. However, for me the food was presented well, but a bit bland for my liking thus the 3 stars. Overall a nice place to try.Parking: There is plenty of free parking on the lot. It also sits on a joining lot with a hotel. Also a nice amount of handicap parking in front of the entrance.“

“I have been to this place a few times and it's been consistently good. They have a great ambiance and service. We tried the 4 pork gnocchi and the spicy shrimp diablo. Both the dishes were very good. We tried a few of their cocktails - a few different Mezcal cocktails and it was good. They have happy hour every day from 3-6 PM. For dessert, we had the beignets. It lived up to the expectations!“

“Would have never even known this place existed, but we got a "seize the deal". Started with the chicken wing special. We are both very picky, and these wings were cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. We got the cod dish to split. We could have split the half. Such garlicky goodness. We live in Portsmout and will go again. The picture I posted is half.“

“I had been looking for another good black, owned fish, restaurant, other than mothers. Even though I like mothers fish, there aren’t many around…. When I found the Fishhouse, I realize I had found a home.. it’s a family owned business, and their fish is fresh and fried well. They even have good sides, and I don’t usually eat everyone’s side dishes.“

“We went elbows deep on a loaded platter and walked out with fully moisturized hands and arms from the butter bath. Everything was perfectly seasoned, cooked just right and tasted delicious. “Went to Cathy’s kitchen this last Friday and it was amazing! My family is from Louisiana and sometimes I just crave the food. Let me tell you the Cajun seafood pasta met that craving and then some. Our food was delivered by the cutest little robot and everyone there was just as nice. The gentleman at the counter made sure to offer some delicious dessert. The cake was moist and perfect the next time me and my partner are back in St.Louis we will be stopping by!!“

“I went on an evening that just happened to be snowy one, so the crowd was slim. They were not open yet, but they let me come in and order because it was cold out! The crowd did however pickup before I left, which was about after an hour of my arrival. Sue the bartender was very nice, and made some scrumptious cocktails. The music was cool, and kept the upbeat vibe going. Upon departing, I ordered the pork chop and fries to go from the connecting doorway. The food was delish, and my overall experience was on point.“

“I took my daughter who's 2 on her first bus ride. It must've been God's Plan. Our scheduled day had changed just as our little adventure had begun. At first, we were just going to go home. Instead, we detoured inside to the KING CHOP SUEY on West Florissant. We had such a wonderful and memorable time! The lady took our order and was so very patient. She made our day so much better. (I wish I had learned her name.) My daughter and I sat in and ate. Well, I sat, the baby sat every once in a while. (terrible 2's ?) No one complained, made faces, or gave any attitude. The food was SO GOOD, even the Crab Rangoon! It was hot, fresh and made just as asked. She called out my order as a number but I didn't have one. (it's on the receipt btw). I told her she hadn't given me a number. She didn't argue that she did or give me any flack. She just asked what I ordered. I found it later in my pocket later with my change. (Sorry Ma'am ?) I also asked for something so my daughter could eat on her own. She gave me a cute little baby sized box. It was perfect. The place was very clean, AND I felt safe, which is really something to say in St. Louis City. So, as we're walking through the door later that night, when we FINALLY got home, the first thing my daughter said was RICE!! So we ate the leftovers. That was probably the clearest thing I've heard this girl say besides No, Mama, and Juice. Thank You Guys So Much!!! If ever I get another chance, I'll be back. I definitely recommend this location to others. A much better than their competitors. (Place Unspoken)Kid-friendliness: My daughter and I sat in and ate. Our waitress Mone’ was Awesome ?? she had our table set and ready upon our arrival. It’s a small location but it’s nice there’s video music ?playing on the big screen ? at a low volume and conversational paintings ?️ on the walls while you wait for your order. I ordered the lamb chops with the glaze sauce on the side it was delicious, my son’s and my mom had the shrimp Alfredo, fried potatoes, stacked pancakes, fried chicken, French toast all was good. It was funny that we all eating saying okay this taste good and my son was like mama let me taste your lamb chops I handed him a bone with a little meat? “I stopped in here during Lent. I went to the location on Manchester. It is a modest sized store, and most people are getting take out rather than eating in. I got the friend catfish and shrimp with a side of mac & cheese. There was a steady stream of customers over lunch. I waited maybe ten minutes total for my food which was reasonable given the crowd. Both the catfish and the shimp was great. The breading was right in the sweet spot of not being too thick or two thin. I grew up eating catfish and it is just one of those things you love or not. The way it was prepare here was just fantastic. The mac & cheese was okay, but next time I'll probably just get the fries. I look forward to trying out the chicken wings some other time as they were the main order I saw other customers getting.“

“We've passed this place several times and for my birthday, I figured we'd give it a try.The place is exactly the aesthetic I was hoping for, a lodge/inn look, with great lighting and simple decor. It's not something others may care about, but for me, it sets a great mood. And this place delivers on that for me.I was told they had a tomahawk ribeye steak on special, and I couldn't resist ordering it (admittedly, without asking the price), my wife ordered the filet.I don't want to complain too much, especially since we didn't bring it up to our server, but we both ordered the steaks medium-rare, and what we both received was medium to medium-well... a significant temperature difference. Especially for those cuts. That was disappointing, but we stopped 'complaining' about overcooked steaks a long time ago; too many horror stories. But, the flavor was outstanding, seasoned flawlessly, my only nitpick on the tomahawk (besides being overcooked) was the rosemary garnish, it should have been left off the dish unless you love to eat those needles. That is pretty much culinary school 101, don't plate something that can't or shouldn't be eaten. The staff was great with everything else, including bringing me a cupcake with a candle on it and wishing me a 'Happy Birthday'.For the price, I expected much better preparation of the steaks, but the place itself, the service/staff, and the overall flavor of everything were very very good. It's a birthday dinner I'll not forget (in a good way).“

“I ate here tonight and had the Chile Colorado with beef tips in verde sauce. The beef was tender and the sauce was nice and hot, very good. The portions were standard and the rice and beans were good too. The atmosphere is more quiet than other competitors which was nice. They also had a man singing and playing guitar which was a real nice touch. The service was fine. The chips could be upgraded. I will be going back sooner than later.“
