In my experience there is an inverse relationship between the beauty/detail of a baked good and the taste... well, not with Summerwood! These cookies taste amazing! They look amazing! And people were blown away by the total package. I will definitely be buying again. Hopefully some Thanksgiving and Christmas cookies. Maybe even a cake. Definitely recommend this excellent small business.“

“I can’t believe how good this place was. The vibe, the welcoming and smiling staff, the food … all totally on point. The coffees- we tried hot and cold- were each THE BEST we’ve had in Charlotte…no contest. No paper cups here if you eat in… coffee only as it should be served: in real mugs on saucers with decorative art in the foam that holds while you drink it. The bahn mi sandwich was light and tasty like it should be- loved the bulgogi one. The bread was beyond anything I’ve found locally. I can’t say enough to express my delight with this place… a hidden gem in Matthews that you NEED to experience!!?“

I tried the salted Carmel hot coco with the cinnamon pretzel bites with dulce de leche dip omg perfect combination especially for this cold weather I highly recommend you stop by, they have lots of other cool items on there menu I’d have to come back and try something new next time!!“
“Oh my God!!!!!!!!!! The Sweetest Thing Bake Shop was in my apartment complex! I just snarfed a gigantic brownie and took three bites out of a cinnamon roll…. that was cold….. OMFG IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a long day and needed something worthy of it, it delivered! I’m saving the rest of the cinnamon roll for the morning, but kind of want it now so we’ll see how that goes lol :-) AMAZING DESSERTS!!“
“Upon a recommendation, we tried Crepe Bistro for a mid morning breakfast. The breakfast crepes we tried were tasty and had good portions of meat. While the breakfast crepe was good, it was similar to other places like this. The sweet maple madness crepe was exceptional. The server was pleasant and offered good explanations of the offerings.“

They have far-beyond your standard chile oil they have so much variety, they probably have that weirdly specific ingredient you are looking for! “I love going here to pick up my cakes. Yesterday I bought 2 Bundlets and they did not meet their normal standards. I called in today to express my concerns and the management staff offered to give me 2 new cakes to make it up to me. I came in and bought an extra 2 Bundlets because I wasn't going to waste the trip obviously and then all tasted AMAZING as per usual. Thank you for taking care of us loyal customers.“
