“We returned to the Outer Banks last week after a 20 year hiatus, remembering Tortuga's Lie as one of our favorite places to eat. We ate there on the second night of our stay and no one in the family was disappointed. I had the grilled salmon salad special and coming from a tough critic, it was DELICIOUS and did not disappoint! Everyone enjoyed their meal and the "vibe" was just the same as we remembered. We can't wait to visit again.”

“It's just a gas station convenience store that found a gimmick, ran with it and it seems to be working for them, so good on them. There's a small rack of adult magazines sitting next to the door whose only purpose is to satisfy the name. I guarantee you they're selling far more food and branded merchandise than they are porn.

That being said, we did enjoy our visit. The food was good and at a decent price. The staff were very friendly (not THAT kind of friendly. Get your mind out of the gutter). We bought merch, because of course we did. How could you not? The seating inside is VERY limited. There were 3 four person booths and 2 two person booths. That's it. So, it's better to get take-out then try to eat in.”

“South Beach Grill is a staple during our annual OBX vacation. We order from there 2-3 times during the week. They are fast, friendly, and ordering is easy online. Dinner for our group of 9 was ready for pick-up in less than 20 minutes. Everyone has tried multiple things from the menu and everyone was extremely pleased with everything they’ve tried. My favorites are the southwest wrap, burgers, and Buffalo chicken Philly. Their fries are delicious… especially with their fry sauce or BBQ ranch. South Beach Grill is a must have on your OBX vacation!”

“Tremendous on all accounts!… fantastic cocktails, delicious food, superior service, and an amazing view. I have never enjoyed waiting for a table more!…sitting outside under the gazebo on the deck that stretches into the sound, wonderful outside bar (try the Chocolate Martini!), and Yacht Rock over the speakers. We could have stayed out there all night and been content. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t say how great the food was inside, and the service was impeccable. (Richard was our waiter, and he is a GEM! Excellent service like he extended to our group is a lost art.) Can’t wait to see you again next year!”

“Stopped for the ice cream fell in love with the cookies. The ice cream is from a NC creamery and I recommend the Lemon Crunch 🍋 But the cookies are a blessing for your taste buds. I got the coconut cookie and my husband raved about the white chocolate macadamia. I wish we had tried this sooner... but it's 10 miles down the beach 😆”

“Lots of flavors, big portions, close to the beach, indoor and outdoor seating, plenty of parking, friendly staff, and a merch room. The only thing not to like was the prices. 5 single scoop orders, throw in 2 waffle cones, 2 squirts of whip cream, 1 sprinkle topping, 1 peanut topping 1 chocolate syrup topping = $41 before tip. Average order $8.20.”

“First time visitors to Booty Treats Ice Cream in Nags Head. We have for several years in a row, ice creamed at a shop on the south end of Virginia Dare Trail. After stopping there, we were not happy with the service or the serving sizes for the price. So we decided to try Booty Treats north location. What a difference! Decent pricing. Fast service (13 in our group and had our ice cream within minutes of ordering). Pricing was about 20% less than the other shop, serving sizes were larger and the ice cream was way better. We have a new ice cream stop when we visit the Banks. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“You know it's good when the police and fire department frequents it! I found their $8 special burger, fries and drink to be an awesome deal. The burgers are top quality beef, cooked to perfection, and with a hefty amount of fries. Find myself going there way too much!!”

“I had a wonderful omelette made with fresh vegetables and turkey bacon. The fresh pressed juice was so delicious. As a person with food allergies, Freshfit has many options for me. They offer vegan and gluten free items, plus turkey sausage or bacon instead of pork. We can’t wait to eat there again on our next OBX visit!”

“I had the best veggie Subway sub I have ever had while visiting Nags Head. I regularly have a Subway veggie sub three times a month at my favorite place and local shop, while very good, can't compare. The young woman who prepared it was very polite, smiling and friendly and piled on a volume of each of my vegetables. The sandwich was so thick I couldn't finish the whole 12-inch sub in one sitting which is a rarity. Everything was fresh and the bread was perfect. We go to OBX every year and I know where I'll be getting my lunch!”

“We were lucky to get a corner table with a view of an osprey nest (there were two babies and the staff even lent us binoculars) and a school of flying fish. The grilled tuna with rice and cucumber salad was great. We liked all the food except the fried green tomatoes (I wouldn’t recommend those).”

“I’ve been coming to the Outer Banks for 30 years. I remember getting the best burger on the OBX at this restaurant. Apparently they have stopped serving food. That is not the issue. I called up to ask if they no longer serve burgers, and was told “this isn’t McDonald’s”. I don’t appreciate being spoken to that way from a worker of a restaurant I want to spend my money at. If they can’t train their staff to have better customer service, I cannot imagine how poorly they treat customers at the restaurant. Very disappointed.”

“we go every time we make a trip there, but last week we had a extra awesome waiter that we adored. he went above and beyond and was super friendly!! love the food and the portion size. Definitely worth a visit”
