“Amazing dining experience! Bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly, staff is top notch and the food is beyond 5 stars. They should have WON The James Beard Award!!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free—most items were already gluten free but they would prepare almost any dish gluten free is asked.“

“We’ve live in the Boone area for over a decade and have waited to go here. The food was absolutely delicious. We did the chef-choice grilled meats as a starter and the mushroom bisque. The Elk leg and Korean-bbq sausage were great. The cocktails were wonderful and our entrees were amazing as well. Service was splendid. Can’t say enough good things about our experience.“

“This was the best meal/experience I have had in quite some time, possibly ever. We were lucky enough to dine in the cellar and have Sadie as our server. I want to express my gratitude to the chef, staff, and Manager, Jeff who made this a night to remember. Highly recommend the ribeye caps, lamb, and all of the first courses. Bring a big group and share everything! Make sure you request Sadie as your server, her recommendations were spot on.“

“Great food and drinks! Handmade sourdough crust made for the best pizza. I got the margarita pizza with a balsamic drizzle and it was perfectly cut with lots of flavor. The sangria is refreshing. The fries were cut thin and seasoned deliciously. Our waitress was one of the girls that works behind the bar and was one of the best we have ever had. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Really hope to go back soon!“

“Nice little restaurant in Blowing Rock for lunch. Their Nashville spicy chicken sandwich was really tasty. My wife had their potato soup with a salad. Also tried their Sunday Bloody Mary, which was very good. Definitely would come back.“

“Stonewalls never disappoints! we celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary tonight here. Food and service were exceptional as always, and our server, Maggie, anticipated whatever we needed, almost before we thought of it. We're already looking forward to our next celebration.“

“Located at the central hub of the Blowing Rock downtown tourist area, The Speckled Trout restaurant is a wonderful part of the downtown district. Because the majority of the stores in the downtown shopping center close early in the evening, having a nice place to stop and eat later in the evening was appreciated. They have a decent amount of parking. The food is good and the vegetable sides are very unique. On the pricey side of an evening meal, the food was high quality. All included I think my husband and I spent somewhere around $95 for the trout entre with two sides and a salad. The soup that I added to my meal was probably one of the best soups I’ve ever had!“

“We had a great experience at Bistro Roca even though we came here with our infant which was not uneventful. We initially ordered the eggplant frites which ended up being a heaping plate of fried eggplant that tasted almost identical to fries. We were disappointed in the plate and told our server and she took it off our bill - we appreciated the great service! We also ordered the kids meal which was honestly incredible. As I remember it you could select two menu items for like $7. We chose the salmon and macaroni & cheese and our kid decided to be picky so we ended up eating them and it was so incredibly good. In the end, the baby started losing it so our order ended up being one cocktail, one wine, one eggplant frites (sent back) and one kids meal. But the server was lovely and a group of ladies at another table saw what a clownshow we were at our table and took pity on us and paid for our meal. Overall a memorable experience and I look forward to eating here again, but without the kid!“
“Food & drinks: The restaurant and service was amazing. We had Stephen and he was extremely attentive. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and it was literally the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot of LowCountry Shrimp and Grits). The cocktails were delicious also. Now my husband and I want to go back and stay for a weekend.“

“Delicious and fresh tasting cuisine. The menu is easy to navigate and not overwhelming. By far the best burger I have enjoyed in a long time. The hubs had the Pot Pie that was incredible! We had our toddler with us who was cranky and hungry from traveling and they were extremely accommodating. He ate his entire grilled cheese. The kids menu had a lot of variety for the littles as well. We will definitely be going back!“

“We had a great wine with an exceptional meal. You will have an excellent meal served by a wait person who is happy you are there. Pork tenderloin was great, according to my husband. The pasta of the day was great & the upside down pineapple cake with buttermilk ice cream was an awesome way to top off an outstanding experience,“

“We went to the best seller for our 39th anniversary dinner. It is without a doubt, one of our favorite places we have dined for our anniversary. This was our first visit to this restaurant. We based it on the reviews that we saw for many restaurants in blowing rock. It was the best choice we could have made. The service was impeccable. It was not intrusive, but every detail was thought of. The food was excellent. My husband had the duck and I had a buttermilk chicken dish. Both were excellent. Our server gave us very good recommendations and he was right on about everything. The ambience is wonderful. The selection was delightful from beginning to end, we enjoyed this evening very much. We would definitely go back. We had the Apple pie crumb for dessert. It was delicious. You could not go wrong choosing this restaurant.“

“The location was convenient for us and the food was okay but not particularly memorable. Somehow I missed the grand view. Maybe they had the misfortune of having a neighbor put up a building in the middle of the view which had given the restaurant its name. Also, I've never gotten toast at a restaurant and only gotten one slice of bread. It's the cheapest and simplest thing to get as a breakfast item add on or part of an entree and I've always gotten two slices.“

“The coffee was exceptional! We had a vanilla latte and cinnamon roll, both tasted high quality. We also tried the banana bread, a scone, and a bacon cheese biscuit. The banana bread was a little bland but everything else was great! Service was very friendly.“

“Let me tell you something: if you want to throw down on some truly SATISFYING southern fare, Proper is the place to do just that! There is hardly a single thing on the menu I haven't licked my plate clean after eating, but I GOTTA give a special shout out to those fried green tomatoes with the pimento cheese AND that meatloaf. I don't know who is in that kitchen, but they are FREAKING it Thursday through Sunday! Thank god for this place.“

“My coworker and I came to town for the week for a work trip and we ate here the first night we were in town due to seeing the good reviews so we had to try it. We loved it so much, we had to come back tonight. The burgers and fries are amazing as well as the potato salad. All of the staff were so sweet and friendly. We will definitely come back here again if we are passing through or for work again! I highly recommend eating here! ❤️“
“Besides the fact that they have the best burgers both beef and veggie, they have a lunch special every day. Absolutely delicious. And don't worry about it being in a pool hall. The owner, Chris, is always there. No smoking, no drinking, no cussing and be careful with the first class equipment. Plus you can eat with your dog on the nice porch.“

“It was somehow slow at 2pm on a Saturday, but the food is worth the price and filled me up perfectly. The staff is also very personable and helpful. I had the brisket burger which was very sweet and filling. Their new sour "I Like Turtles" is also very light and yummy. Can't wait to come again!“

From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality that sets the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The ambiance is cozy yet vibrant, creating the perfect atmosphere for any occasion. The food - absolutely perfect! Each dish is a masterpiece of flavor and presentation, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs. Whether you're craving classic breakfast fare or looking to indulge in something more adventurous, the menu has something to satisfy every palate. But what truly sets the Famous Toastery apart is their commitment to excellence in every dish they serve. Honestly the best pancakes I've ever had and after talking with the chef I found out they have a whole process for making them better than anywhere else. My girlfreind had an equally delishious french toast breakfast that was next level.Overall, I can't recommend the Famous Toastery highly enough. “I went here after a App State football game, the place was packed and it was only a hour before closing time, this place is so freaking good it's not even funny, I had the crab bisque, and it would knock your socks off with how awesome it tasted, they had many bartenders ready to make any drink you could think of, the waiters were checking in every few minutes so there was no way you could go without a refill, the French fries were made just perfect, with a slight crunch and just the right amount seasoning, if you've got the time hit this place up, you won't regret it.“

“My husband and I had dinner here last night. We sat at the bar. They were very busy. The two bartenders, Jess and Lyden were super. They were helpful in choosing beer as well as food. Good selection of craft beer which we thought was outstanding. Food equally as good. I had the shrimp tacos and my husband had the bison burger. Enjoyable evening, I highly recommend you give it a try. All staff members were friendly and accommodating“

“As full time rv’ers and pizza lovers, if we are only in an area for a short period of time we check out at least (1) pizza shop. We chose Carolina Pizza Co. and they did not disappoint. Super thin, crispy crust. We tried the plain, buffalo and the white. Plain was delicious, Buffalo was in my top three of Buffalo but if I were to critique one thing is that it could use more of a wing sauce base and a bit more ranch drizzle. Otherwise, super tasty. Service was excellent and loved the atmosphere.“
