“Excellent food and hospitality“

“This place is a little off the beaten path, but it is amazing. We happenednto wander in just before closing time (we didn't realize how close we cut it), but the staff immediately made us feel welcome. I know we got on their nerves but they never showed it.

The food... wow. Their mac and cheese is some of the best around. The pulled pork is tender and flavorful, and not at all dry. The portion sizes are also huge. It's absolutely worth every penny, and so much better than fast food or some random chain.

We would have taken pictures, but we got too excited and devoured everything.

100/10 -- ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND.“

“Great food, great atmosphere, great service, and craft beer on tap! My family and I love this place. My only complaint would be that last time we were here, someone at the table next to us had a dog in a tote bag that was most definitely NOT a service animal. Not one staff member said anything to her. This is a problem for me as I suffer from severe animal allergies. In addition, I don’t feel it is sanitary to bring animals in an establishment where food is being sold/served. Like I said, we love this place, but if this becomes a habit we will have to find another place to go. ☹️“

I ordered a cheeseburger with chili and mustard only and there was maybe a bit more than a dime sized amount of chili and no mustard that I could see. “I thought I would never again taste food like my Aunt Hattie made it, but today a friend took me to University Kitchen for lunch, and I had green beans, stewed cabbage, fried chicken livers, and cornbread. It was like going back in time to my Aunt Hattie's kitchen and once again tasting good old country cooking at its best. They have managed to keep those great vintage recipes alive, and I now have a new favorite restaurant. Everyone who worked there was amiable and on top of service. It was great!“

“Fresh, tasty local spot. I've had a couple things on the menu my favorite so far being the buffalo chicken wrap 🤤. Went for their chicken gyro as well this time and it didn't disappoint either. I always order and pick and order is always fresh out and ready!“

“My husband and I had the pleasure to attend my cousin’s reception held at JH Adam’s Inn/Cristina Gray’s Restaurant & Bar Friday evening. We stayed on the property as well and found the check in process to be quick and easy, ALL of the staff were friendly and accommodating! Our room was very well stocked and clean!! As my aunt said, it is a hidden gem of High Point and it comes highly recommended!!“

“A party of four go into Mayberry about 3:10 this afternoon! We waited about 5 minutes to even be seated! No one seemed to know what to do! We had to keep moving as we waited so that a lady could sweep! We ordered just banana splits and 2 ice cream sundaes! They were brought to us in a timely manner and that was it! Never saw the waitress again until I paid! My grandson dropped his spoon, I got up to get him another, no one at the counter! One waitress just walked by me to get out the door! No wait staff to be seen in the restaurant! Everyone was in the kitchen, talking! One lady was standing in the opening and I know that she could see me at the counter, but she chose to ignore me! I was ready to go behind the counter, but couldn’t see any spoons! After 3-4 minutes a lady comes out! We finish and get up to leave, no bill! I go to counter and wait probably 5-7 mins. Cashier has to ring up 2-3 ice creams and some man was trying to get his to-go order and he had been waiting a while! When the cashier finally ask me why I’m there, I tell her to pay my bill! She has no bill, can not find it on the cash register! She asked me twice where we were sitting! While she calls our waitress, she rings it up and I finally paid! Doesn’t give me my change back, I have to tell her what I gave her and how much change she owes me! First time in a long time that we’ve been to Mayberry and probably won’t be going back! Wasn’t very busy this afternoon, lots of employees just standing around/in the kitchen doing nothing!“

“Tried this wing spot for the first time and it definitely lived up to the hype. Wings were crispy, sauced perfectly, and full of flavor. Fries were fresh, portions were good, and the customer service was on point too. Definitely one of the better wing places I’ve had in a while — I’ll be back for sure. I can’t remember her name but I think it was Holly, she even went above and beyond to help get my car unstuck across the street after they were closing. If that ain’t customer service I don’t know what is lol“
