“Atmosphere is diner feel. Service is always quick. Food is served hot. This is our favorite breakfast place. I feel the elevated booths we love could use a remodel. Absolutely a good establishment.

They renovated the place. Very comfortable chairs. Nicely redone. This is our favorite go to breakfast place. Wait staff is friendly and professional. Clean facility. Definitely stop in.“

“Celiac? Gluten sensitivity? This is your place. Living with Celiac or having a gluten intolerance is frustrating by itself. It becomes much more frustrating when you go to a restaurant and you tell the server your issue, and they look at you like you're an alien from another planet… or worse… get frustrated with you. I've lost count of how many places I've had to walk out of because I knew just from speaking to them that it wasn't safe for me to eat there. That doesn't happen here. Not only do they have plenty of gluten-free options (which are well labeled on the menu)... But the staff also seem to be well trained on how to handle the questions that we may have. I had a server specifically ask me one time after I ordered a gluten-free bun if I was Celiac…that has never happened before…anywhere. (I've been here enough now that they pretty much all know without me having to even say it anymore, but that's beside the point.) The staff and owners have always been extremely friendly whenever we are there. The atmosphere is great, the food is great, and it's just an overall great experience for us every time we go. It means a tremendous amount to be able to sit down at a table and not really worry about how I'm going to feel 30 minutes after I leave because someone in the kitchen or the server themselves doesn't understand how to handle my food after I tell them my issue. It SHOULD be this easy everywhere, but those of us that deal with it everyday know that it's not. If you're looking for a place that serves great food, with staff that understands what it means to be careful with cross-contamination and what you're served, this is your place. Communicate with them clearly, and you will not be disappointed.🤘“

“Eat there every time we are in the area. We always enjoy the home cooked food. Tonight my husband had the baked chicken with dressing, green beans and black eyed peas. I had the sausage with cabbage, mashed potatoes and black eyed peas. Both meals were delicious!!“

“Quirky restaurant, steam punk decor. Their burgers are certainly impressive, and the fries were fantastic. Namely, The Jekyll Burger, was delicious and unique with the pimento cheese and pepper jelly. I ordered a medium rare steak with sides, of which the steak was cooked exceptionally, much talent! I would recommend you check this place out. My only suggestion is to have smaller plate ware for the steaks, to increase the perception of more food and the mashed potatoes and asparagus could've been more heavily seasoned, though that's my opinion. I thought it was lackluster compared to their burger and salad entree. Great location, lots of shops and nice places to sit or walk around after a meal.“

“I love Mom and Pop diners. Knife and Fork might be the best I've been to so far. The atmosphere reminds me of the interior of a train car with four rows of tables separated by a barrier with two rows on each side. The service was top notch. Very attentive and friendly. The food...oh my goodness! We ordered two of their super breakfasts (two eggs, two pancakes, sausage patty, two pieces of bacon, grits or hash browns, includes you beverage) for under $11 each. We also ordered their veggie omelette with hashbrown (or grits) for under $8! The portions of grits and hash browns were half the size of your plate and so perfectly cooked. I LOVE grits so I am picky about them and these were amazing. Not too thick...not too thin. The pancakes were wonderful. Cooked just right with a slight sweetness to them even prior to syrup (which they offer sugar free syrup, which is a huge win!). We were discussing how it was easily a better breakfast than iHop and Cracker Barrel. We can't wait to come back for dinner soon! Please check this place out!“

“I came in for a quick lunch with my son and for him to work on some school work. He had the burger deal for Monday special which is a great deal for a lot of food. I had ordered something new which I wasn’t thrilled with but the waitress and the manager could not have been more helpful in fixing the situation and making sure I was happy with my meal. “Visited Matthews, NC few days ago and had lunch here. The food was awesome (I had Jalapeno Poppers and Peter Piper burger), and so was the beer selection (I had a really good blonde ale (cannot recall the name unfortunately)). Service was great, and washrooms were clean. The place has a really cool vibe to it, looks like one would feel at home there while watching sports on one of the many screens.“

Listening to 70s rock on the way always fits, and they play oldies in the restaurant too. Amazing staff, and again just the design of the place is great. and it’s got a good record shop next to it called Noble Records. Sells cds records and cassettes and I’ve bought from them after eating a lot. Writing this review right outside in the parking lot actually about to go in south 21.
