The dishes were all plant-based absolutely delicious. Even if you are normally a carnivore, you will not miss having meat. The restaurant space itself is beautiful and very tasteful and relaxing. All the staff were super friendly and hospitable. Felt like I was saying good-bye to friends when we left. Looking forward to my next trip to Wilmington!”

I sometimes get supermarket sushi as Genki is not real close to me. I used to appreciate it was “just supermarket sushi” but after Genki (10-12 times) it’s real hard to get a quick supermarket fix. Actually right now I’m salivating!”

“We have been to Sugo multiple times. Each and every time our visit was fabulous! From the hostess desk, to the servers, to the managers the service has been top notch. They truly make you feel welcome.
We love the bacon appetizer and the carpaccio of beef. Both are delicious.
We have enjoyed the veal and pasta dishes. They are all very good. For us though, the star dishes are the steaks. The skirt steak and the filet mignon with sauces are excellent. The porterhouse for two was better than the last steak we had at Peter Luger. Each time the steaks were cooked exactly as ordered. Every steak we have had here has been outstanding! You can’t go wrong with any of the side dishes as well.
The sides we have tried have been delicious!
We always look forward to our next visit. Even the sunsets have been beautiful. They have a great view!

Our wait staff Gianna(?) could not have been more helpful, attentive, and accommodating with recommendations. I had the black and bleu burger--so good. And they didn't skimp on the bread as some do; potato roll was flavorful. Ingredients fresh. I was concerned with not being able to select cook temperature, but it was perfect, about medium well and juicy. I wanted just a side portion of the Greek salad, which I was grateful they accommodated (I didn't leave a bite in the bowl--so good!). Others enjoyed the crab cake (no filler! Well done -- and we get the MD ones as we're DMV, so can confirm it doesn't disappoint); classic burger; pimento burger; and wings. Plates were cleared. Don't miss those onion rings. Flavorful, ample. Definitely worth it. Great vibe, folks enjoying the bar with delicious cocktails and games on the TVs. We would go again.”

My wife and I each had an amazing pasta dish and split the largest piece of coconut cake we have ever seen. Now, you would think after all that I just wrote that would be the best part of our experience, but it wasn’t! The absolute best part was one of the kindest people we have ever met, Bella! Let me tell you the meaning of her name fits in so many ways! She was absolutely incredible! So kind! So caring! I honestly could go on and on! “I don’t usually leave reviews but they totally deserve one! We left the movies and my parents said “where are we having lunch?”. I said “right here! I looked at their menu during the movie”. Coquina did NOT disappoint. The “co’jito” and “café con leche” cocktails were perfection. The conch fritters were fantastic. In fact, we were shocked how many fritters come with the order and the size of them. Most restaurants we’ve been to that offered conch fritters come with (maybe) five fritters and always far smaller in size. And the actual amount of conch and size of the pieces: amazing. It was so nice to actually taste conch and not just breading/filler! And then the Cuban sandwich….. OMG….. My father and I always order a Cuban sandwich and judge a restaurant based on it if it’s on their menu. We both agreed that this was probably the best Cuban sandwich we’ve ever had! And we’ve tried them from Key West up to New England. The mayo balances out the mustard…. The melted Swiss cheese…. BUT the winner: the mojo-marinated SMOKED pork. Once you get through the creamy, savory, and tang, you get the smoke flavor and it’s just the perfect marriage of flavors. I know it’s supposed to be a fish-focused place, but do yourself a favor and get the Cuban sandwich!!”

“Was in NC for the weekend 8/16/24-8/18/24. Saw this restaurant that was walking distance from the hotel. Not knowing what to expect as usually any Me I can food I have ever had here in New England has all tasted the same. Got a plate of nachos and I got something based on a picture on the menu so I’m unsure of the name but it was 2 slices of bread with shredded steak and it came with a small bowl of broth and a piece of meat (like an au jus gravy) for dipping. BEST nachos my wife and I ever had hands down. Every nacho on the plate was covered not just on top. My sandwich type item was great too especially with the broth. And like some other reviews have said just the plain tortillas given with each meal are great, the dip is mild and I can taste that it had a taste of paprika in it which is a magical ingredient. I never leave reviews but for this place I had to.”

Lately though we've been getting it to go because I'm disabled and I hate to get in people's way; hopefully I'll be fixed soon but what I've found really aggravating is getting all the way home to find the order isn't all there. Granted we should have checked it before we left but we shouldn't have to and as is normal, you all were packed and we didn't want to keep anyone waiting. It is disappointing though especially when I'm paying the same price as if I were sitting down enjoying myself, tip too. Maybe the people doing to go orders could just check behind themselves, it sure would be nice when you have a to go order and you live 30 miles away. We love the bacon appetizer and the carpaccio of beef. Both are delicious.
We have enjoyed the veal and pasta dishes. They are all very good. For us though, the star dishes are the steaks. The skirt steak and the filet mignon with sauces are excellent. The porterhouse for two was better than the last steak we had at Peter Luger. Each time the steaks were cooked exactly as ordered. Every steak we have had here has been outstanding! You can’t go wrong with any of the side dishes as well.
The sides we have tried have been delicious!
We always look forward to our next visit. Even the sunsets have been beautiful. They have a great view!
