“Awesome speakeasy style bar. Small (15ish tables plus bar space) and doesnt take reservations. Got lucky that there was a table open when we walked in as it was the last one. Booth was comfty, mood lighting was romantic, music was a bit odd for the setting (latin-ish vibes) but not distracting. Drinks were great, had the bartenders choice which resulted in a good interesting drink. Lots of liquor options too and snacking food looked solid.“

“Absolutely love love love Kiddo - the menu changes based on what's in season, and the chef's thoughtfulness and attention to detail are unsurpassed. Many dishes are veggie-forward, creative and sensational, but my (fussy) husband swears the pork is the best he's ever had. Drinks are perfect, fresh bread heavenly. Can't recommend highly enough!“
“I’ve only managed to make it to this place twice, the first time mid-June after getting off work early from Brooklyn Bowl just down the street, and the second a few hours before writing this review. Even after getting a hair cut between my first and second visit, Kyle and Josiah immediately recognized me just as I walked in. Despite its small size with the only food in the place being available from a vending machine (Primarily chips and a few other snacks.), the range of drinks was wonderful, with my two choices in particular being the pisco sour (a little rich, very juicy, and the chocolate shavings complementing those characteristics pleasantly), and the Smoke And Barrels (A Manhattan combining the classic rye element with mezcal and an amaro, wonderfully balanced with the smoky and spirit-forward aspects, a little tart from the cherry, easily one of my favorite ever riffs on a classic). Apart from the aforementioned cocktails, I also had a couple shots of the rum blend which was phenomenal, straight juicy and bright. I’d be happy to try it again.
The drinks are only part of the fun. As I had already stated, Kyle and Josiah IMMEDIATELY recognized my face as I walked in, despite the massive haircut, and they were just as awesome from my prior visit months ago. Even better, I gifted a tiki bottle opener that my coworker gave me a couple years ago over the holidays, and it is still there, evidently standing strong as ever, if you’re interested in asking them. Moving forward from that, I had some wonderful conversations with some fellow patrons. One of them was particularly buzzed, and even then our conversation wasn’t hampered by that. The compact, intimate feel to this place is wonderful, especially if you’re having a night out with friends or on a date for just drinks.
It’s largely focused on vibes, bringing new faces together, and just overall having a wonderful time without getting messed up. Believe me, this is the type of place you come to for wonderful drinks and splendid vibes, and staff who don’t just know what they’re doing, but know they can, and WILL have fun committing themselves to their craft. That’s what has truly made me come back, and it will remain that way. I’m looking forward to my next stop here, the next drinks, and my next wonderful conversations. Cheers to all who see this, and happy sailing!
A short, final note: Be prepared to drink lots of water. The staff are all in the mindset of hydrating everyone regardless of how busy it is. The second your glass of water is on the verge, it will be refilled before you can say anything. Something I love seeing in bars and restaurants, cheers!“

“Hands down, the best drinks in the city! Each cocktail was like a work of art—thoughtfully crafted with incredible attention to detail and flavor. You can really tell the bartenders put care and creativity into every pour.
This spot is perfect for a date night or if you’re just in the mood to treat yourself to an exceptional cocktail experience. The vibe is relaxed yet stylish, and the staff couldn’t be more friendly or knowledgeable.
Absolutely loved my time here and can’t wait to come back for more. Highly, highly recommend!“

“Fantastic place! Great beer selections and cocktails. The food was fantastic. We had the Coconut Shrimp, Fried Green Tomatoes to start. Then we had the Brisket Sandwich and my husband had the Buffalo Wings. The Brisket Sandwich was amazing...so incredibly tender, lots of flavor, completely falls apart with each bite. My husband was so happy with his wings. He was so happy that they were actually crispy and full of flavor. The staff is amazing. So incredibly friendly and provide amazing service. Amazing place highly recommend. So happy we tired this place ♡♡♡♡♡“

“I am a regular at Spin Philadelphia. I usually go and have a very good time. I enjoy the food, drinks, and the atmosphere. I recently had a situation where someone asked security to deal with me. I was upset and started acting up because I was being wrongfully accused. Even though my night was going bad, I felt better because of the way I was treated by some staff. The security guy with the bandana and the front desk ping pong player were very nice to me. They heard me out, showed me respect, and were very understanding of the situation. They assured me that I was welcomed back anytime. I really appreciated that. Thank you.“

“Enswell is a gorgeous restaurant (even the loo is worth a visit... think high gloss burgundy and wallpaper) and bottle shop, and the service is some of the best I've experienced in the city thus far. The sausage was so good, the flat white was excellent, and the potatoes are perfectly crispy. You're in a great neighborhood for roaming, some light shopping, and people watching. Highly recommend and so happy we spent our Friday morning at a sweet little two-top outside chatting with our server-- great way to start the weekend.“
“Atiya checked us in and was quite a delight to work with. She and Angelo were at the front desk and gave us some great insight and information about the venue, the food, the layout, and the best times to come. Mike was our bartender and he gave me all Philly energy I needed. He was relatable, efficient, engaging and knowledgeable. Please pass along my appreciation and thanks to all those mentioned above, you all made my visit to F1 Philadelphia absolutely memorable and worth a repeat visit!“

“We had a good, not great meal here. For the price (which was considerable) we were definitely expecting a bit more. The cocktails were great and the service great, the food was a bit underwhelming. We went with the tasting menu instead of a la carte and found the dishes good, but not anything particularly special. They were very accommodating with an allergy which was very nice. I'd like to try the bar menu but probably don't need another dining room experience.“

“Great drinks and the music allows for good conversation without being quiet. Awesome tiki bar!“
“Very nice establishment I discovered it sadly after howl at the moon closed.... for its size it is close corners at times but still great I personally luv the low key lighting for the chandler's and high top tables around to welcome random goers :) last Saturday I came and the bartender made a great old fashion tonight I stuck with a basic drink ? with in 10 -15 second not making it up I was greeted and served ? absolutely worth coming again ?
Kid-friendliness: Friendly bartenders and front door host“

“Had a few drinks here with the lovely bartender Alyssa(sp?!) looking out for me and showing me the good stuff. Of course fancypants mcgee here had to go for the most expensive cocktail on the list, but The Waldorf is absolutely worth it! (Tobacco Road and Bombay Moon were beautiful too don't get me wrong)
Next time I'm in the area I'll try a few of their enormous assortment of whiskey's, I counted like 170ish on the shelves, lord knows what goodies they have in their secret stash... well worth the trip ?“

“Went back to back nights. Sat down right away with a two top the first night and then waited fifteen minutes for a four top the next day. It’s an A+ type of place that you can just walk into and get great food and drinks without a reservation, something that’s increasingly impossible in town. Tempura was a table favorite. Service was great.“

“Bar1010 in Philadelphia is an absolute gem that exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived on a bustling evening, we were met with impeccable service. Our server was incredibly attentive, making us feel welcomed and ensuring every detail of our dining experience was perfect. The restaurant’s flexibility in accommodating my vegetarian needs was remarkable, showing a genuine dedication to guest satisfaction.
The cocktail menu is nothing short of exceptional. The espresso martinis are to die for: rich, perfectly balanced, and executed flawlessly and the variety they offer ensures there’s a flavor to match every preference. The food at Bar1010 is equally impressive. As an Indian, my standards for flavor are high, and the Tikka Masala pizza absolutely blew me away. It was perfectly spiced, rich, and indulgent, yet balanced beautifully on a crisp crust. The Indian-style pizza is a unique and unforgettable twist, highlighting the creativity of the kitchen.
The bruschetta was light, refreshing, and simply delicious, a perfect start to our meal. The outdoor seating adds a charming touch, offering a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy both food and drinks while taking in the vibrant Philly energy.
Overall, Bar1010 is a perfect blend of innovative cuisine, exceptional cocktails, and unmatched hospitality. Whether you’re seeking inventive dishes, outstanding drinks, or attentive service in a welcoming environment, this spot delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend for both casual nights out and special occasions, Bar1010 will leave you coming back for more.“

“I didn’t even know it was open as I walked but until a patron said you should go in for a drink. I was very glad I did. If you are not put off by the fact this is primarily a local spot for folks from the neighbourhood then the other patrons and staff was friendly. Beer was $2.50 a bottle and a shot of Hennessy was $5. The shots look small to the eye but are measured with their auto dosing system. A great value night cap on the way back to my hotel.“

“My husband and I were looking for something to get into on a Saturday night so we learned of Essie's by calling another entertainment restaurant in town that was closed for the night. We got to Essie's and was amazed at how upscale, clean, and close to home it was for us. The food was delicious as can be and the music was wonderful. Since we just walked in we were seated in the bar area at a table by the window. The whole vibe was on point for us. We were given a tour of the upstairs lounge which was empty that night bec no one had booked it for anything. Still it was beautiful as well as classy for giving a small to medium gathering of friends for a party or get together. The bathrooms were fashionably modern, beautiful, clean, and smelled great! We peeked into the stage area dining room to get a look since we weren't able to sit in there since all the tables were booked. It was very nice and classy. I can't wait to go back. Next time I'll be booking reservations for a dinner when they have live entertainment so we can sit in the stage area dining room and enjoy some live entertainment and another delicious meal. I'm so glad we found this spot. Now it will be our go to restaurant when we want to get out and hear some great soulful music. Way to go Essie!!! :)“

“Not kidding. Our table of 4 ordered nearly everything in the menu. Each bite was delicious, balanced, nuanced, worldly, fresh, and inventive. We ordered a second dish of the carrots, and also the cukes. Dessert was outstanding. Interesting wines, including a chilled Croatian wine that paired well with every dish. Definitely returning. Soon! ❤️“
“My husband took me out to Philly for an early Mother’s Day gift. He said we were going to a “speakeasy” type bar in Chinatown but I didn’t believe him. When we got to an iron screen door, he was like this is it and I was like you got to be kidding me. The owner came out, asked my husband if he knew it was a cash bar took our ids then went inside. The owner brought back our ids then took us inside to a foyer where he told us the rules of the bar. Cash only, absolutely, no photography and no phones. If you need to take a phone call, you go back to foyer area or outside to not disturb people. We agreed to rules and went inside. The bar was dimly lit with candles on each table. The decor was amazing with pictures and antiques on the wall. We were sat at a table and given a cocktail menu. The cocktails were unique and separated by whiskey, gin, vodka and rum. If you need a light since it is so dim in the bar, they will bring you a light because they brought one to my husband. There were no beers on the menu so if that is what you’re looking for then this isn’t the place for you. We ordered our cocktails and they were amazing. Since there is no phone usage, you have more of an intimate experience with the person you are with because you aren’t distracted by your phone. We sat and talked while drinking our drinks. The owner came over and asked us about our drinks and how we were doing. We then ordered another round of drinks and continued talking. We enjoyed our time at Hop Sing Laundromat. Service was great, bartenders were great, owner was great, and the ambiance was amazing. This is a great date night spot for anyone who wants to enjoy a intimate setting with a cocktail or two. I would post pictures but again, No Photography so you would have to go in order to see it to believe it. You will enjoy this experience and not be disappointed.“

“The pizza was delicious! We got 2, one plain Jane (margarita with pesto, yummy) and one Don (sausage and spicy long hots, rich and deep). The decor was carefully thought out, small but cozy for plenty of people to sit. We will definitely be back!
Aaron, the owner has a pet pig! We met him while he was walking the pig on the streets of Philly and couldn’t resist stopping by when he told us he owned Agricola.
He remembered us when we walked in, which was so nice :) not only was the food 10/10 but hospitality was too. Aaron brings such a good energy. The right things are done right (the food!) and the unimportant things (the marketing) is kept simple.“
