“The “Golden Boy” was delicious, with very fresh mozzarella cheese. Even the small sandwich is quite filling—you could probably feed two people with it! The restaurant is cash-only, but they do have an ATM inside, which is convenient. Service was pretty quick, and the staff were friendly and polite. Definitely worth trying!“

I love their creative breakfast sandwich options, and the vibe was pure NYC energy. I got the pastrami, egg, and cheese on a challah bun, and it was exceptional. Perfectly balanced, rich, and just messy enough in the best way. 10 out of 10. I’ll definitely be back.“

“Discovered this cute spot while on my lunch break, and I walked in and automatically fell in love. It immediately took me back to living in Europe. The authenticity, the freshness of the sandwich, the espresso… everything was so lekker.

The owner happened to be training a new employee while I was there and was super helpful with the menu. He was also shocked by the little Dutch I knew 😂 We ended up kiki-ing about how great the Netherlands and Belgium are, which honestly made the whole experience even better.

It was such a highlight of my day! I STILL dream about the sandwich with the truffle butter.

“We stumbled upon this sandwich shop while walking around the neighborhood and decided to stop in for lunch. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. There are a few tables both inside and outside if you’d like to dine in, and takeout is also available.“

Small place but seriously mighty. No fluff, no gimmicks, just unreal, farm-to-table food done right.

Bialys are tender with flavorful onion filling. There is a pretzel bagel. A PRETZEL BAGEL. And chili crisp cream cheese! And wait, there's more: That king smoked salmon? Rich and tender, delicately smoked. Whitefish salad? Tuna salad? Far more fish than filler and perfectly delicious. Off the charts customer service, from email response to ordering to pick-up. The Sesame Bread was fresh and it felt like was in the 1920s , in there. Old school brooklyn feel. The staff are super friendly and make a killer espresso. Tell them Camilo sent you!! “I do not live in NYC, but I was trying to find someone who could provide food for my daughter's baby shower in the city. After researching a few options online, I contacted The Picnic Basket. I am so glad I did. The shower was to be in Central Park on a Saturday, and I was concerned about getting everything there safely and reasonably easily. As The Picnic Basket is closed on Saturday, I knew we'd need it Friday as late as possible.
They were so helpful, providing suggestions and a menu online with a lot of great options. I was able to order enough food for a party of 20 at a reasonable price. When my son-in-law arrived to pick it up, it was exceptionally well-packed and labeled. It all fit in their small apartment fridge, and we were able to get everything to the shower easily. Everyone absolutely loved the sandwich variety as well as the large kale salad. Everything was excellent and we were able to easily re-pack the leftovers for later. Great food, great service, great communication and budget-friendly. Would not hesitate to use them again! Thanks, Picnic Basket!“

However, they were very patient with us and told us what the special sandwiches of the day were. We got that day's special which was roastbeef. It was quite delicious.
