We got the spicy ham and pate sandwhich and the spicy bbq pork sandwhich and both were so delicious for just under $10 bucks each. “The half hour wait was worth it the first time for excellent fish, tomato and noodle soup. Delicious flavors and the ingredients melted in my mouth. However my second visit was very disappointing. The fish was tough and obviously day-old. The tomato had been hastily cut in HALF without even removing the dark part where the stem connects to the fruit, and the GINGER was in such enormous chunks I thought it was POTATO. I was with friends from out of town so didn't want to complain to the staff. I am doing so here. Hope you're more careful next time.“

“Hands down one of my favorite spots! The sandwiches are always fresh, packed with flavor, and made with bread that has the perfect crunch. The fillings are generous and balanced, never skimpy like some other places.
I also have to shout out their Vietnamese iced coffee! It’s strong, smooth, with just the right amount of sweetness. I’m not even a big coffee person, but this is one I find myself craving again and again.
Great food, quick service, and fair prices. If you’re looking for a solid banh mi and an amazing coffee, this is the place to go.“

“(Almost) perfect northern style Bun dau mam tom. Should add lime to the sauce. Price is high. But in general, good option for northern people who miss home 😂

“The Banh Mi's could be the best in the City. Worth the trip! Had a Boneless Chicken Thigh banh mi and a Classic bahn mi. Both great! I have been here at least 10 times and it is always consistant. This is a take out place only. Buy a banh mi walk a couple of blocks to Central Park and sit in the shade and enjoy.“

“Sao Mai is my go-to Vietnamese restaurant and has been for the past seven years. My favorite dish is the cơm bù lúc lắc (beef cubes)—absolutely delicious. Their pho tai is incredible, and the shrimp summer roll is a must-try (I just add a dash of hot sauce to the sauce they provide). I love that it’s family-owned with a warm, friendly small-business atmosphere, and their prices are fantastic.“

Owned and operated by Helen Nguyen who uses her wonderful restaurant to prepare food for those in need for various organizations in NYC. She is a wonderful person and an amazing chef using her classical training to prepare amazingly authentic and forward thinking Vietnamese dishes. It’s a must visit!!!!“

“They take res via Yelp, FYI! We did a walk in for a party of 2 at 3pm on a rainy day and it was pretty empty. I had to wait for my friend and was allowed to sit and wait for her at our table. Staff here is very attentive and friendly.

The Pho here is more so like Northern pho, with the fatter vermicelli noodles. I enjoyed my Beef Pho and the broth was good. I was asked if I wanted fresh noodles or not, which was a question I was never asked at other viet spots before. I requested fresh noodles, which were a bit softer in my broth. Their fresh noodles are made daily vs their other kind of noodles made a day before - idk how much of a difference it would've been toh.

We also got their Spring Rolls to share, which were standard. It also came with pickled radishes on the side, which were nice and crunchy.

Overall, a decent neighborhood spot with good, yummy options. I've tried other apps here before (Banh Xeo and Chicken Wings) and they were great as well. Would recommend to others for a comfortable meal.“

“I thought this was a decent, casual Vietnamese restaurant. The pho was good, warm and satisfying just like you would hope for. Not the best, I've ever had, but it will fulfill a craving if you have one. The only downside is not the food itsself but a lack of wifi for patrons. Also be prepared to pay in cash lest you will be charged a small fee for using your card. But otherwise, it was an enjoyable meal“

“The Banh Mi Cart is my favorite part of working in the Financial District. They’re only open 4 hours a day but boy do they deliver! Hot, delicious ready-to-eat Vietnamese banh mi’s ? And the two uncles working the cart are super friendly and are the most honest, hardworking people I’ve met. “I had the beef pho, and it was tasty. The broth was flavorful, meat was tender, and I absolutely devoured it. (If you’ve never had pho, the beef is rare at first, but it cooks in the soup. That’s why it’s pink in the photo). The two friends I went with both ordered the chicken pho which they also loved.

I docked one star because the restaurant was sooo busy on the Monday evening when we went. We waited outside for 40 minutes, and I was getting hangry. In my opinion if you just want a plain bowl of beef or chicken pho it might be worth it to go somewhere less busy. As for their more specialized dishes, I would have to go back to try them!“

“We had been searching for a go-to Vietnamese place ahead of winter pho season and boy did we not have to look very far! Plum went above and beyond on all accounts. The plum platter appetizer was a must, especially if you’re bringing littles. The spring rolls were so incredibly fresh both inside and out, and the curry dumplings had perfect flaky dough that still held everything together.

Both the chicken and duck curry were hits. The perfect amount of spice for me (I enjoy mild to medium levels of spice but don’t seek out extra). The chicken was tender but could probably have been more so, but I’m just searching so something for them to improve at this point. It was all really well done.

Our wait staff was exceptional; they were cognizant of timing for our mains relative to when we finished our apps, and didn’t over-stay. They even provided an entire kid’s place setting for our two year old. A clean space, homey atmosphere, pleasant music, and DELICIOUS food. Coming again soon!“

“There was a pho Hanoi place in Manhattan that closed down during pandemic, for years there hasn’t been a good Hanoi pho place in Manhattan. To my surprise, I saw this place on uber eats, didn’t hesitate to try it out. Hanoi pho has a special place in my heart since I spent 1/3of my life there. The flavor is a bit on the weaker side but with the fresh noodle and crispy quay, they’ve earned the 5 stars. I didnt have nuoc mam at home,but if i did I would put a lil bit more just to complete the savory balance.
