“After moving to Bergen County I was on a mission to find the best Jamaican food spot. I’m from Queens, NY and I miss my South Ozone Park / West NY food.

I go to a gym nearby and just randomly found this spot and thank goodness I did.

The food is really good, everything is well balanced in terms of flavor and the hospitality is great.

We’ve all seen that “we don have dat” video and this is the opposite. If he doesn’t have it, give him a minute to work his magic. Your patience will be rewarded.

If you like good seasoned food, just give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. I know I wasn’t. I’ll be coming here every time I crave oxtails and fried chicken.“

“My wife and I generally eat for five people, we ordered 4 small plates and 2 mains, still looking into dessert. Each dish had its own layer of perfection with unique flavors and exquisite presentation. I’d say a restaurant on its way to becoming Michelin…..bravo! “We came to Patrick’s on the Hill for an early dinner, and WOW — everything was soooo good! We started with the jerk wings and Jamaican beef patties, and both were absolutely delicious and packed with flavor.

But the Rasta Pasta with oxtails was the star of the meal! We learned that it’s made from the owner’s mom’s recipe, which made it even more special. The oxtails were tender and flavorful, and the pasta was incredible. You can tell this is food made with love and family tradition.

Our server Tatiana was so kind, helpful, and welcoming and really made us feel at home. Between the amazing Jamaican food and the wonderful hospitality, this place is definitely worth a visit.

We will absolutely be back — and I’m already thinking about that Rasta Pasta with oxtails! 🇯🇲❤ ⭐⭐⭐⭐“

“Popped in for some food after hitting the pool - everything was so fresh. I got the fritura and was blessed with a massive portion of fried, fresh, incredible meats, cheese, and plantains. The chicken was so moist and juicy, the chicharron was deeply flavorful and had me floored; truly so fresh, tasted like a mama made it for me. The issue is that you can’t really get what you want. Hear me out for example… you can’t get a small order of oxtail….like?! You can only get a medium size with a side. It’s overpriced. Just by looking at it I can tell it’s not even worth the price. Also if you get like a medium size meal with any meat and rice you can’t get it with plantain. It’s extra charge. BUT I WILL SAY THAT THE PORTION IS WORTH IT. THEY GIVE MORE. I’ve tried the Mac and cheese and it was baaaadd. Just cheese and unseasoned roux. That’s if they use roux. It’s oily and you can’t even see or smell a spec of seasoning. Taste like a sweet treat no shade. The fried chicken though I give that 15/10. Tastes better than Kennedys. The goat meat falls off the bonnnneeee. The rice is perfect; not too mushy and not too rough. I’m on my way there right now😂😂. Is it worth trying? Hell yeah. The Mac and cheese though.. that’s to your advantage.“

The jerk chicken was perfectly seasoned, the curry goat was tender and flavorful, the fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and delicious, and the ackee and saltfish was authentic and well prepared. The Escovitch fish was outstanding, the rice and beans and spinach rice were cooked to perfection, the fried plantains were sweet and delicious, and the freshly steamed vegetables were the perfect complement to the meal.

Lovely little spot for a late night meal! The cashier was very pleasant with a great attitude. I came by after finding my Airbnb and ordered 3 empanadas: Jerk Chicken, Salmon, & Oxtail. This is not a standard menu option, but she told me I could mix and match :)
