Their Detroit-style pizza is seriously impressive—the crust has that perfect combination of a crispy, cheesy edge with a light and airy interior. It’s not the heavy, overly greasy square pizza you might expect.

I also love that they put a creative spin on their menu while still keeping the classics strong. From the traditional pepperoni to more adventurous combinations, there’s a lot here for both the classic pizza lover and someone who wants to try something different. The retro-inspired space is clean, cool, and has a great neighborhood feel. You can tell this isn’t just another pizza shop—they’ve put real thought into the concept and the details.

The food was amazing and they couldn't have enough of the Frena bread for everyone, they loved them with the trio dips. The best was the braised oxtail tortellini and the Nemesis dessert. “We ordered for the first time tonight from Sammy, former proprietor of JuJu’s Bagels now transformed into El Toum. We ordered 4 items and they were ready for pickup in less than 25 minutes. The Mixed Kebab platter, Kofta Burger with fries, Falafel Sandwich with extra tahini sauce, and El Toum Appetizer were refreshingly homemade, tasted delicious, and proved outstanding bangs for the buck. More than enough food for a family of four with leftovers. This is a very welcome addition to a neighborhood missing this kind of fare. I highly recommend supporting this local business. Some of the best falafel and tabouli I’ve tasted in quite some time too!“

The portions are generous and the food is amazing. Sometimes if you go to the broadway location the service can be a bit slow, but it’s usually crowded when I go. Great place!“

In the restaurant, you feel as if you are in Egypt or any other Arab country. You can have breakfast with beans, falafel, hummus, liver, and heart, just like you would eat in any popular restaurant in Egypt. For lunch, you can also eat Mandi and various delicious meats. “One of the best middle eastern restaurants in metro NYC. we came with a part of five and ordered up a large sample of dishes. Everything we tried was one better than the next. Super tasty humus, light, fresh and lemony. I had a stuffed chicken over rice, which was to die for. We tried the mixed grill, shawarma, Middle East platter and several salads.
Very reasonable prices. Simple brightly lit space with a lovely staff.“

And the proprieter was delightfully friendly, throwing in a bit of hummus and a pita. A dessert of baklava was sweet without being sickly or cloying or too wet. I NEED TO MENTION A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO THE COOKS as they are slaying it over the hot oven. I pick up when I'm not in the mood to cook or am craving their beef or lamb or chicken (yes, a lot of good options). “This is a great restaurant. It's casual but the food is very high quality and delicious! My son had the Lava Chicken Shawarma Arabic and I had the Vegan Arabic Sandwich. We got the combo for each (with fries and a drink) and the total price was $40. The vegan sandwich was amazing - lots of vegetables and falafel - all seasoned wonderfully. I think it is the best vegan sandwich I ever had. The chicken shawarma was great too - and plated up beautifully. The restaurant's atmosphere is serene and relaxing. A++.“
