“I couldn’t believe how great the food was. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. In addition the atmosphere was wonderful and our server Andrew In Hackensack NJ was such a delight. He totally paid attention to my nut allergy and had the manager bring my meal out to ensure it was nut free. We are definitely going back! 😃“

“Had a great lunch while meeting a friend from the area who recommended we met here for lunch. Did not realize it was an upscale setting and the waitress politely asked me to remove my baseball cap. The food and drinks were excellent across the board. Not a big fan of artichoke dip, but it was superb. Ribs were excellent! Super professional service and immaculate atmosphere. Highly recommend for an upscale dining experience!“

“Reservations highly recommended since it’s a small spot. Every dish was honestly great, so excited to go back to try their other stuff, but the beef longganisa and ube ko achar I would def order again in a heartbeat. The sauce for the gnocchi and the skewer were 10/10. Also, their Green Leaf drink with pandan - SO GOOD.

My favorite desserts are literally silvanas and cheese ice cream, so it’s def their own version of these classic Filipino desserts, but satisfied with how they interpreted them.

Their Dutch baby “Primadonna” pancake and lobster roll are to die for. Much of what is on the menu it’s imported from Italy of the finest ingredients. It’s always fun to take the ferry across from Manhattan to the Pepsi Cola Sign and walk a couple of blocks. They can accommodate large groups, children, pets, wheelchairs, (you name it) at their outdoor seating. Run there. 😊💕“

“First time here. We wanted something light to eat and it did not disappoint. The ambience is nice and relaxing, the service - top notch. Never ran out of a carafe of water. We had the chips - fresh and warm (a little salt to it would have made them perfect but again- they were great) queso no complaints.

Shrimp tacos and al pastor tacos. We were amazed with the amount of filling in all of them. Maybe the pineapple in the Al pastor could have been diced instead of one big piece. - just nitpicking here. We would come back again for sure. Pineapple smash was the drink and it was very tasty“

“Food has definitely gotten better. We had the Calabrian clams, duck leg, white bolognese, grilled prawns and blood orange cheesecake. Everything was wonderful and fresh, could be better with some minor tweaks. The clams should be served with some bread to soak up that delicious sauce. The prawns would have been much better if it was left whole with shell and head on, it was slightly over cooked. All in all, a fantastic meal!!“

“Went there during the Restaurant Week. The menu was much better compared to some other restaurants we went to. The hostess was cheerful and pleasant One tall male server was not good at all- first, he tried to take my plate despite there was still food left and the utensils were placed to show that I was still working on it. Doesn’t he even know what that mean? He apologized, and later came to ask if we needed more bread. We said no, but I still had a big chunk of bread on my plate. We only said we didn't need another piece of bread. But he took away everything including the butter. He needs to be trained and know what he can do and can’t while customers are still eating. Taking plates away no matter what is not his only job! He was rude.“

“Absolutely loved my experience at Hoexter's. Was looking for the best dirty martini I could find and Hoexter's is definitely a top contender. We got seated at probably one of the not as comfortable tables yet the experience was still 10/10. We order the caesar salad, shrimp cocktail, and some bread for the table as we were just looking for something light that night. Everything was delicious. The service was very attentive and the dim lit vibes were classy, yet still welcoming. At the very end they even give you a cute little notebook to sign next to others who have dined there as well. Definitely looking forward to coming back and having a full dinner here!“

“Marlow East is a refined New American restaurant that immediately caught our attention while my husband and I were strolling through Manhattan. What drew us in wasn’t a recommendation or a reservation — it was the view through the windows. Inside, we saw a calm dining room with soft lighting, a tasteful interior, and an atmosphere that felt both intimate and inviting.
Once inside, the restaurant turned out to be exactly what we had hoped for. The ambiance was cozy and romantic — the kind of place where you can truly slow down, enjoy the moment, and have an unhurried conversation. It felt like the perfect setting for a relaxed evening together.
The food was just as impressive as the atmosphere. For appetizers, we ordered the farmers salad and the tuna tartare. Both dishes highlighted the freshness of the ingredients — crisp vegetables and beautifully fresh tuna that tasted clean and delicate.
For our main courses, my husband chose the strip loin, while I ordered the sea bass. The steak was well prepared and flavorful, but the sea bass was truly phenomenal — perfectly cooked, tender, and served in an incredibly rich and delicious creamy sauce that elevated the dish even further.
We paired our dinner with wine, which complemented the meal wonderfully and added to the overall experience. I should also mention the service, which was attentive, professional, and seamless throughout the evening.
Overall, we left Marlow East feeling very happy with our evening. The restaurant delivers a wonderful balance of atmosphere, quality food, and thoughtful service.
The only downside is the price. Even by Manhattan standards, it felt a bit expensive. For two appetizers, two main courses, and two glasses of wine, the bill came to $258 — and that was before tip.

“This is what we call “fine dining.” We did not reserve the main dining room, as one of our party did not care for prix fixe. We opted for the lounge as you can have from the menu or prix fixe. When you first arrive, you are greeted by a pleasant hat/coat check lady. We arrived early and said we would wait for the other couple and were invited to wait in the intimate cocktail area. The cocktails were superb and served with a house-made cocktail snack. When the guests of the party arrived, we were escorted to the lounge area. An intimate area with about six to eight tables. After being seated and greeted by the head server (maître d' or captain), who explained our options, we all opted for the menu. After looking at all the choices, we decided to split two appetizers. Even though the number of items on each choice was uneven, the server said, “Let me take care of it". And then beautifully presented plates arrived with equal portions. And it only got better from there. The entrées were each explained in detail, including their origins and how they were prepared. I could go on and on. The fish, beef, duck breast, and pork were everything we expected and more. We all commented, maybe the best we have had. The house made desserts were perfect. I had possibly the best cheese plate I have ever had. The entire staff of servers were professionals and enhanced the evening. The most disappointing part of the evening was when a guest entering the dining room (after removing his overcoat) came in dressed in Dockers and a short-sleeve polo. This is an insult to the owner, the chef, and the entire staff at this fine restaurant. But maybe he was an elite or a “special” person. We all said we would be back.“

“This restaurant was new to this area, and it did not miss. We really enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and the staff. We booked a reservation last minute and they were able to accommodate us on a pretty busy night. We hung out at the bar until our table was ready, and it was in a semi-private room, which I liked. “What a gem! This space is easy to miss if you don’t know it’s there but is so gorgeous inside you’ll remember your visit. I was able to grab dinner here and loved the selection of cocktails as well. The salmon was astonishing. My guest and I had to agree to share because we both loved it. I ordered one of their Eucalyptus mocktail options which came topped with a delicious foam which was tart sweet and floral. We ordered the duck as well, Spring vegetables on a bed of lentils and the ravioli which was earthy. Very interesting menu concept with dishes inspired by the elements, a great place to explore something new. My bestfriend said they made her the best drink she’d had all week.“
