“Best cakes I’ve ever had! Moist, dense, with the most decadent cream icing. Gorgeous too and photograph very well. So many unique flavors. The shop is a quiet, sunny place to spend an afternoon and the whole cake orders have never disappointed! I’ve gotten 3 birthday cakes from byClio (the first was off Instagram, before they even had a shop) and always look forward to the next year. So happy to see this business thriving. Cannot recommend more.“

“Unregular Bakery was hands down the best bakery experience we had in NYC. The pastry display looks absolutely insane, and everything tastes just as good as it looks. We tried the croissant pudding, the K Bueno, and a cappuccino — all were amazing. The employee recommended we warm up the croissant pudding, and even did it for us — it was exactly what I had been craving after so many disappointing bakery visits in NYC. On top of that, he was super friendly, and you can really see how passionate he is about the bakery and pastries. We’d 100% come back to try all the other goodies.“

“I unfortunately get the hype…
The outer layer of the pineapple bun is super buttery and crispy and the the bun itself is soft and fluffy. The pork inside is tender and was sweeter than I expected but it pairs so well with the little saltiness on the pineapple bun crust.
Super addicting, super delicious! Great for a quick bite when in Chinatown!“

“One of the best hidden gems for Chinese-style desserts in Chinatown! Kam Hing Coffee Shop is simple, affordable, and full of flavor. The sponge cakes are incredibly soft, fluffy, and freshly made with many interesting flavors to choose from. Perfect for a quick snack or takeaway.
The prices are very reasonable, and the service is fast and friendly. I also enjoyed the coffee – simple but satisfying. Great spot if you want something tasty without the fancy setup. Highly recommended, and I will definitely be back!“

“OMG...this IS the best sponge cake you'll have in NYC. I've had my fair share looking for one that compares to the original Kam Hing. The owner apprenticed with the original Kam Hing owner and finally opened his own cafe! Can't go wrong with the original flavor but the pandan coconut is sooooo goood! it's my new fav! This is my new go to place for sponge cakes!“

“OH MY GOSH i wish we had this where I live. Less than $3 for a HUGE 大包 (the “Big Bun”) in NYC?? Sooo good! Pork bun is also yummy <33 I’m gonna bring some home in my luggage LOL.
The place is cash or venmo only I believe. They also had mooncakes (unsure if it’s seasonal for October) and packaged Asian bread/pastries.“

“I’ve been meaning to try this bakery for a while now and finally got to try today with my husband. The breads were delicious, soft and chewy and fillings were not too sweet. We tried the hot chocolate with oat milk as well and it was smooth and not too sweet which was just perfect! Service was very friendly and efficient. Loved the small sitting area towards the back side of bakery where you can enjoy some leisure time while enjoying delicious bread and your drink“

“I visited Fabrique Bakery in New York, and it completely exceeded my expectations.
I stumbled upon it while walking toward the Arte Museum, and it turned out to be one of those unexpected gems you feel lucky to discover. As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted with the warm aroma of fresh bread, and the atmosphere is beautifully cozy and stylish.
The quality of the pastries and bread is outstanding — the texture, the aroma, everything feels like an authentic European bakery experience. Honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve had bread this good in New York.
I went in without any expectations but walked out genuinely impressed.
If you’re anywhere near the Arte Museum, this spot is absolutely worth stopping by.“

“The teas are so refreshing and fruity. Josie was so pleasant, she customized our drink order and even gave us a free piece of fluffy cake to try. It was delicious! Teas are delicious. My friend loved hers especially. Definitely worth stepping in on a hot day. We love it and will definitely be going back.“

“Small Japanese cafè on the 2nd floor offering more unique offerings of coffee, tea and pastries. I had an iced black sesame latte with a shot of espresso. The nutty flavor of the sesame works great with the earthy coffee notes, enhancing each other. A maple fig scone was properly dry and subtle. Next, I plan to try their 8-hour filtered cold brew. You can enjoy your coffee at a few of the small tables inside, but more appropriate to sit in the hallway or take-out.
They also sell essential oils, candles and other unique gifts. While they are a little pricey, the quality of the products are high. As long as the coffee grinder isn't going off, they offer a very peaceful experince. Definitely worth a visit!“

“We ordered cannolis and a cannoli cake for our wedding, and both were absolutely amazing! Even a couple of days later, we shared the extra cake with friends at our bowling league, and it was still incredibly moist and delicious. We’re so happy we chose this bakery for our wedding desserts!“

“I finally checked out PopUp Bagels, and the hype is totally justified. You absolutely have to get here early—like, when they’re still pulling those hot, fresh bagels out of the oven and tossing them into the bin! Nothing beats that feeling (or smell!) to kick off a New York morning.
I grabbed the three-pack with scallion cream cheese. All the bagels were great, but the Salt Bagel was the runaway winner for me. That perfect salty crunch outside with the hot, chewy inside…Unbelievably delicious !
Grab your hot bagel and a cup of coffee and you are all set. It's the ideal start to any day in the city! 🥯☕️“

“We had the pleasure of visiting the patisserie this weekend and loved the friendly nature of all the staff. We weren't able to try any of their cakes due to the presence of gelatin but Diana made us feel so welcome that we will definitely be coming back if not for pastries then definitely for the service! In today's fast paced environment, especially in a touristy area like Seaport it is rare to find such exceptional customer service. Diana took out the time to go over the ingredients and explain what we can have based off of our dietary needs. We ended up trying the banana cookie and the Gluten-free Chocolate cookie. The banana cookie had a lovely texture that is hard to come by - I'm a baker so I could tell it was made with skill. The texture was a mouthy chew without being too hard or too crispy - it was just right. The taste was similar to Craqelin and the banana really added depth to the carmelly flavor of the cookie. The chocolate cookie was even better (although I'm quite biased as I prefer chocolate). It was not too sweet, had a great texture and the pools of chocolate carmel added the perfect touch. I am quite picky so I was very impressed with Diana's customer service and her willingness to explain all the components so I would have the best experience. We left feeling quite pleased and will definitely be back. Diana should be promoted!
P.S. we also got the French Onion Croissant which was MAGNIFICENT! Crispy, perfectly seasoned and those layers of caramelized onion with cheese truly tantalized our tastebuds. Needless to say this place is a must try!“

“I love coming here whenever I’m in the Heights because there’s always something new on the menu. If you’re grabbing a bite around lunchtime, you cant beat the focaccia and sandwiches– but the rotating soups/stews on the menu are like a hidden gem. If you come earlier, get one of their delicious cappuccinos and a sampling of pastries. Pictured is a brioche filled with fresh ricotta and lemon curd. Just perfect!“

“Please do yourself a favor and stop by for moon cakes! She does the best I’ve ever had, I always come back here whenever I visit NYC. Black sesame and red bean are my favorites. She offers a different kind of bubble tea as well - if you like the classic flavors, look no further, skip the big chains and support a local store, you won’t regret it 🫶🏻“

“The croissant was indeed the best I had in New York yet, as a french person.
But the coffee was inacceptable, big bubbles and burning horror.
Also dissapointed by the lemon brioche thing, it goes back to the overly sugary american pastries.“

“A truly hidden gem in the city! Happened to learn about this place from a friend who frequents the shop for their rice noodles, which they cooked for us so we knew the quality was good. We have since been back numerous times for noodles, frozen goods, fresh soy milk, and pastries! Everything is fresh and well-flavored. We got the wintermelon pastries yesterday and were worried about it being too sweet, but it was just right! Prices are also very reasonable (we purchased the wintermelon pastries, which come with 3 small pastries, a pack of rice noodles, and a soy milk all for $8). They also take credit card, which is a plus as well!“

“After gastric bypass, I thought my days of enjoying cookies were over. Cue the protein bakery— I get my favorite treat back without the guilt!!! The cookies are so good, the protein makes me feel full and not interested in binging, and did I mention they are soooo good?! “My sister was having a beach chic baby shower because her and her husband do not want to know the gender. She wanted cupcakes that looked like succulents that also taste delicious. I immediately thought of Huascar and asked if he could do it. I traveled to Florida with them and they were a hit. I can’t describe how beautiful they look and I can tell you the taste of theses cupcakes were out of this world. Everyone was contacting my sister afterwards to see where she’d got them. 😋😋😋“

“I never heard of Elbow bread before but when I attended the Madewell event, it had me at their chocolate babka! I have to visit their bakery in Ludlow. I was disappointed because there w only one left of their chocolate babka. I was told that I have to come in early hours as it sells fast. Any way I tried their rugelach and it was close enough. The staff are helpful. The place is small but there’s few seating area outside. Will try to come back earlier next time. A little pricey but for me it’s worth it. This review is mainly for the chocolate babka and rugelach. For the rest of the menu, I never tried them yet.“
