“Unregular Bakery was hands down the best bakery experience we had in NYC. The pastry display looks absolutely insane, and everything tastes just as good as it looks. We tried the croissant pudding, the K Bueno, and a cappuccino — all were amazing. The employee recommended we warm up the croissant pudding, and even did it for us — it was exactly what I had been craving after so many disappointing bakery visits in NYC. On top of that, he was super friendly, and you can really see how passionate he is about the bakery and pastries. We’d 100% come back to try all the other goodies.“

“I unfortunately get the hype…
The outer layer of the pineapple bun is super buttery and crispy and the the bun itself is soft and fluffy. The pork inside is tender and was sweeter than I expected but it pairs so well with the little saltiness on the pineapple bun crust.
Super addicting, super delicious! Great for a quick bite when in Chinatown!“

“Best cakes I’ve ever had! Moist, dense, with the most decadent cream icing. Gorgeous too and photograph very well. So many unique flavors. The shop is a quiet, sunny place to spend an afternoon and the whole cake orders have never disappointed! I’ve gotten 3 birthday cakes from byClio (the first was off Instagram, before they even had a shop) and always look forward to the next year. So happy to see this business thriving. Cannot recommend more.“

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Hidden Gem Worth Finding!
Kam Hing Coffee Shop is truly a hidden hole-in-the-wall treasure! We stopped by and were blown away by their incredible sponge cakes – we tried the coconut and strawberry flavors, and both were light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious.
What made the experience even better was the staff. They went out of their way to modify our teas since we’re lactose intolerant, and the result was perfect – flavorful, refreshing, and just right.
This place has that cozy, authentic charm that’s hard to find. Amazing food, warm service, and unbeatable sponge cakes – definitely worth a visit!“

“Fabrique’s New York cardamom bun hits the spot when I need a sticky-bun fix, even if it’s not life-changing. Mine wasn’t warm or super fragrant, and the crumb leans dense rather than light and airy—but the cardamom flavor lands nicely, and the caramel glaze keeps it satisfying without veering into sugar overload.
Fresh off a European pastry tour, I’d still give this a solid four stars. It won’t dethrone the buns I devoured abroad, yet for NYC it’s a thoughtful, well-made treat. Grab it with a coffee and you’ll walk away happy, just don’t expect a cloud-soft roll straight from the oven.“

“I’ve been meaning to try this bakery for a while now and finally got to try today with my husband. The breads were delicious, soft and chewy and fillings were not too sweet. We tried the hot chocolate with oat milk as well and it was smooth and not too sweet which was just perfect! Service was very friendly and efficient. Loved the small sitting area towards the back side of bakery where you can enjoy some leisure time while enjoying delicious bread and your drink“

“OMG...this IS the best sponge cake you'll have in NYC. I've had my fair share looking for one that compares to the original Kam Hing. The owner apprenticed with the original Kam Hing owner and finally opened his own cafe! Can't go wrong with the original flavor but the pandan coconut is sooooo goood! it's my new fav! This is my new go to place for sponge cakes!“

“Small Japanese cafè on the 2nd floor offering more unique offerings of coffee, tea and pastries. I had an iced black sesame latte with a shot of espresso. The nutty flavor of the sesame works great with the earthy coffee notes, enhancing each other. A maple fig scone was properly dry and subtle. Next, I plan to try their 8-hour filtered cold brew. You can enjoy your coffee at a few of the small tables inside, but more appropriate to sit in the hallway or take-out.
They also sell essential oils, candles and other unique gifts. While they are a little pricey, the quality of the products are high. As long as the coffee grinder isn't going off, they offer a very peaceful experince. Definitely worth a visit!“

“The croissant was indeed the best I had in New York yet, as a french person.
But the coffee was inacceptable, big bubbles and burning horror.
Also dissapointed by the lemon brioche thing, it goes back to the overly sugary american pastries.“

“I finally checked out PopUp Bagels, and the hype is totally justified. You absolutely have to get here early—like, when they’re still pulling those hot, fresh bagels out of the oven and tossing them into the bin! Nothing beats that feeling (or smell!) to kick off a New York morning.
I grabbed the three-pack with scallion cream cheese. All the bagels were great, but the Salt Bagel was the runaway winner for me. That perfect salty crunch outside with the hot, chewy inside…Unbelievably delicious !
Grab your hot bagel and a cup of coffee and you are all set. It's the ideal start to any day in the city! 🥯☕️“

“If you like sitting among actual Chinese people, this is a good place. The locals buy and eat here, what other compliment does a bakery need. Cash only, and I missed the sign when I ordered a coffee. A man watching the scene asked how much I need and offered to pay for me. This gets extra points for being sweet and kind. Turns out I did have enough change for the coffee with me --$1.50. All sorts of buns, egg custard, white bread, coconut cream buns. Baked right here in the back. Gift boxes ready if you are shopping for a celebration. Juices, smoothies, coffee, teas, bubble tea. One table with seats for eating in. Modest, quiet, the place seems clean and we'll organized. I'm having coffee with milk only and it's surprisingly glorious.“

“After gastric bypass, I thought my days of enjoying cookies were over. Cue the protein bakery— I get my favorite treat back without the guilt!!! The cookies are so good, the protein makes me feel full and not interested in binging, and did I mention they are soooo good?! They are a God send, I live in RI and order them online, they come in 2 days tops. Can’t wait to come visit in NYC soon!!“

“I make a point of visiting Funny Face bakery on every trip to New York, because they have the very best chocolate chip cookies in NYC or anywhere for that matter! Their gooey chocolate chip cookies are huge and packed full of chocolate—can’t be beat, especially warm out of the oven. Their decorated sugar cookies are so cool and clever and also make great gifts (along with a few gooey cookies of course). And it’s such a fun and friendly atmosphere—a must-visit when in NYC!“

“Please do yourself a favor and stop by for moon cakes! She does the best I’ve ever had, I always come back here whenever I visit NYC. Black sesame and red bean are my favorites. She offers a different kind of bubble tea as well - if you like the classic flavors, look no further, skip the big chains and support a local store, you won’t regret it 🫶🏻“

“I've ordered the green tea fancy cheesecake and bouncy cheesecakes at Keki Modern Cakes throughout the years, but most recently, we decided to try something different. We went for a cookies and cream fancy cheesecake ($40), as well as 3 cream puffs (3 for $10, or $4 individually). They only had pistachio, cookies+cream, and ube cream puffs left when we ordered on Feb 6, so we got one of each. At first, we thought the pistachio cream puff was green tea, so when we bit into it, we were surprised. It wasn't a crowd favorite, but the cookies+cream and ube cream puffs were A+++. Highly recommend those two flavors. Next time, would love to try the milk cream puff! The cookies and cream fancy cheesecake was A+++ as well. We kept it in the freezer and took it out to thaw about 2-3 hours before we wanted to eat it. Although it sure tasted like ice cream, it wasn't. Delicious either way! The layers consisted of cheesecake, cookies, and cookie mousse. We couldn't stop eating it!“

“We had the pleasure of visiting the patisserie this weekend and loved the friendly nature of all the staff. We weren't able to try any of their cakes due to the presence of gelatin but Diana made us feel so welcome that we will definitely be coming back if not for pastries then definitely for the service! In today's fast paced environment, especially in a touristy area like Seaport it is rare to find such exceptional customer service. Diana took out the time to go over the ingredients and explain what we can have based off of our dietary needs. We ended up trying the banana cookie and the Gluten-free Chocolate cookie. The banana cookie had a lovely texture that is hard to come by - I'm a baker so I could tell it was made with skill. The texture was a mouthy chew without being too hard or too crispy - it was just right. The taste was similar to Craqelin and the banana really added depth to the carmelly flavor of the cookie. The chocolate cookie was even better (although I'm quite biased as I prefer chocolate). It was not too sweet, had a great texture and the pools of chocolate carmel added the perfect touch. I am quite picky so I was very impressed with Diana's customer service and her willingness to explain all the components so I would have the best experience. We left feeling quite pleased and will definitely be back. Diana should be promoted!
P.S. we also got the French Onion Croissant which was MAGNIFICENT! Crispy, perfectly seasoned and those layers of caramelized onion with cheese truly tantalized our tastebuds. Needless to say this place is a must try!“
