“Finally - a restaurant where great food doesn't require a second mortgage! My wife and I stopped in for dinner tonight with zero expectations. Boy were we pleasantly surprised. I ordered the French onion soup, which was excellent. My wife ordered the Brussell sprouts which were out of this world! They were light and flaky and flavorful. I was happy the wife was willing to share! For entrees the wife got the Tuna Nicoise, which she loved. I ordered the Chicken Caprese sandwich which had the perfect ratio of meat to bread. The sandwich came with a small salad and the most delicious fries I've had in a while. Service was attentive but not overbearing. My water glass was consistantly filled. With appetizers and entrees out of the way, we had to try dessert. Sadly, this fell short of expectations. The lava cake was uninspired and the ice cream was crystalline. But we finished it anyway. Overall my wife and I were very pleased with the quality, food, and ambiance. I look forward to returning and trying the burgers. Definitely a new favorite.“

“Why at the end of the bill, after I give my credit card, am I charged a 3% credit card fee! What a scam, be transparent and comply with NY General Business Law § 518. Auto 20% gratuity was also included for 2 people and was undisclosed. Dinner was just ok overall and the valentines day set menu and one glass of wine ended up costing over $200 for two people.“

“So my Lenten sacrifice included all things that look good, taste good & make me feel good. So last night after an intense interpersonal interaction earlier in the day I headed to Yatenga. I was greeted by the lovely Todd the bar man (one of the things that look good)who greeted warmly and took my order. He returned with my preferred cocktail-The Lou Lou! The fact that he remembered made me feel like a Prince (only a Prince as he’s a King). I started my meal with the Cauliflower soup which was well flavored and simply delicious. It was so good it was enough to turn a carnivore into a vegetarian! Then I had the Chicken Francaise which was prepared to perfection. The accompanying sauce was smooth and also highly flavored. The chicken breast’s were tender & the texture was as if the chicken had just been sacrificed moments before. The vegetables of haricot verts and carrots were perfectly al dente. And my dessert of Tart Tartin could not have been better; nice flaky crust and perfectly sweetened! In the past 13 years I have not patronized another restaurant in Harlem in particular and NYC in general. Why? Because I don’t have the confidence that I will be as well treated and cared for and well-fed as I am at Yatenga. The fact that Todd the barman does double duty as a server and does it affably is one major reason I keep going back. The management must be superior-why else would the staff be so equally superior. I travel a lot for work & thusly try to avoid restaurants in other towns and villages because I know they’re not Yatenga.“

“This place is a hidden gem. We arrived on a very rainy day, yet once we got inside there was sunshine everywhere. My friend and I were so happy. The food was just delicious and the service was top notch.
I am vegetarian 90% of the time, however, I had fish that day and it was superb. We had the Poisson Grill, the Sweet Plantains, and the Ris Gras with no meat. Let me tell you, I ate slower on purpose!! So flavorful and so smooth… The sauce that came with the Ris Gras was amazing too!!
This experience could not have been the same without Amy!! She was the best waitress ever. She greeted us like we were family and her smiles, amazing knowledge of the menu, and energy was just perfect. I used to train servers and Amy made it look so easy. Please support this off the beaten path restaurant! Tell them Chase sent you!!!“

The place is clean and smells good. The servers speak both Spanish and English very well, which is great as you cater to the majority of the customers.
The setup is nice as you have a sitting bar for a quick grab (eat and go area).

The food layout is good. No flies, no bugs seen.. I love it...

“I ordered everything bagel with cream cheese and my cousins ordered chicken focaccia, mozzarella and cheese, pies and it was truly delicious.

The coffee is good too. So much variety of coffee, smoothies, freshly made shakes, pastries, and more.

Parking: You have to pay mobile parking and since it is in the prime location because it is near the hospital of Mount Sinai, it is difficult to find parking.“
