Perfect amount of light mayo, with what seems like a house combination of celery seed and some sparing big pretzel salt crystals…. Just perfect munching overlooking the boardwalk, dunes and ocean in Ocean City boardwalk. And the lobster bisque was excellent. With the jumbo sized option on the classic rolls, there was lobster falling out of the sandwich before we could even pick it up. Just excellent.“

“When I am at the shore and I think seafood, I think Back Bay Seafood. Honestly, best crab cakes I ever had. And let’s not forget the broiled scallops, and stuffed shrimp, and the list goes on! Amazing food, high quality, and excellent customer service. “The seafood is exceptionally fresh, with a natural sweetness and firm texture that comes from being recently caught. The shellfish, like oysters and clams, have a briny aroma and are tightly closed, which also shows their freshness. When cooked, the seafood retains its natural juices, making each bite flavorful and tender.“

“Fresh and interesting menu. Everything we had was perfect. Smoked salmon and noodle aps were both great starters to share. Scallops, crab cakes, swordfish entrees were delicious. The desserts were lovely and generous portions. Not surprised to hear that this is a perennial favorite for many regulars.“

“Crab cakes were good. The stuffed shrimp was really a crab cake on top of a medium shrimp (not even flayed open). Not what we were expecting. Definitely would get crab cake again just not the stuffed shrimp as ratio was off and shrimp looked more like an afterthought.“

“One of my favorite things about this place is the small simple menu! I have to favorite hear and an honorable mention. Number 1, the delicious fried scallops! They're a must try. Number 2, the Burger is absolutely perfected, easily in my top 3 burgers. Third is the smoked fish dip for an appetizer(ask for some crackers on the side).“

“I absolutely recommend Peter Shields Inn for a wedding venue. We had a small wedding on the beach and our wedding dinner was handled by Peter Shields. We worked with Amy (their event coordinator) and she was so helpful in every way. She went above and beyond to make everything so easy for us. I literally handed them a box of our wedding decorations and the tables and everything was set up perfectly! I didn’t have to lift a finger. Their bartender served up our signature drinks with a smile. Our guitarist serenaded guests on the porch while they enjoyed cocktails and wonderful hors doeurves. Dinner was seriously some of the best food I’ve ever had. Perfection hands down!“

“My husband and I have been visiting Cape May for years now, and we cannot understand how we waited this long to stop in the Oyster Bay Bar & Restaurant for dinner. We spent a few weeks in the area this year and had meals at the Oyster Bay Bar three times!! From our first visit, we felt so incredibly welcomed beginning with a nice chat with the hostess as we waited for our table. Just from that brief chat during our first visit, the same hostess greeted me by my name on our 2nd visit. I’m embarrassed to say that I cannot remember her name, but I will say that she was incredibly lovely and personable. Our server, Bobby, who took care of us on both our first and last visits, had a wonderful personality, sharing some tidbits with us of the history of the restaurant and with being local to the area, answered some of our questions about the holiday season in Cape May. Now, about the food…with each visit we tried something new and found each meal to be delicious and satisfying. Our favorite appetizer, which we had on all three visits, was the charbroiled oysters. Absolutely delightful!! The mix of the Parmesan cheese in the garlic butter….so very good!! My husband and I always like to do something special on our last night of vacation…and you guessed it, the Oyster Bay Bar was our choice for dinner! The lovely hostess greeted us once again and mentioned to the owner, Gary, that this was our third visit and that we chose this restaurant as our last dinner on vacation. Gary stopped by our table, after sending a complementary round of drinks to us, and spent time speaking with us. Knowing we were tossing the idea of a return visit during the holidays, he gave us his personal cell phone number to reach out to him for not only restaurant reservations but also if we had any other questions regarding the holiday visit. Never before, have I encountered such genuine kindness and graciousness in a visit to a restaurant establishment. I cannot stress to all who take the time to read this review that you most definitely must stop in the Oyster Bay Bar & Restaurant for a meal. You will not be disappointed. “We live in North Jersey and drive down to Cape May a few times during the summer. Sometimes we even stay for the week. We always come to Sea Salt for a great night out and a fabulous dinner. The staff is always wonderful and friendly and the menu never ever disappoints! Always worth the little over 2hr drive for us to spend the day and have a great dinner with family and friends.“

“Recent Trip to Maison Bleue at The Hugh B&B in Cape May did not disappoint! Shout out to Dorothy Birchall Shuman and her support staff for the excellent service. Russ Wheeler and the back of the house killed it! I love French cuisine and was really looking forward to this one for my Birthday ?.

Duck appetizer was a hit. The Humboldt Fog cheese was amazing. Next moving on the the escargot ? over the puff pastry. I have never had it prepared like this before and I don’t think I want it any other way now. So delicious. The baked oysters with leek fondue and caviar were probably my personal favorite. I could probably eat a dozen of them. So creamy and delicious. The steak and scallops with the Cafe de Paris sauce that was “plucked” out of France ?? by the owners was to die for. I could put this sauce on anything. So rich. The apple birthday dessert and the Crème Brûlée were both very good but I would have to say it was the best Crème Brûlée I’ve ever had. So satisfying cracking the sugar shell on top.

Once again highly recommended from the food to the service to the atmosphere. Was sat inside but they also have a nice porch with comfy chairs and couches that looks onto Washington Street and even has overhead heaters for the colder months. The inside dining was extraordinary. The French music mix along with the lighting definitely set the tone for the evening. I felt like I was in Lyon but only 15 minutes away from my doorstep. 10/10 experience, will be back!“

“I had the vegan chunky monkey pancakes and they were delicious! Extremely fluffy, filled with bananas, choc chips and walnuts. I added some maple syrup on top. Only downside was they couldn’t do vegan whipped cream which comes on the non vegan option. Would have made it look a little more impressive if there was a topping. However I’d still recommend!“
