“Empanash is literally a hidden gem. Google maps took me to the parking lot nearby and there is no large signage for the place so it took a minute to locate it nestled in a little alley between other shops, but its cant-miss dining! I ordered all the vegetarian empanadas and also the Cinner Sweet desert empanada. They were all incredible and delicious! The staff was so friendly and genuine, I could tell they really enjoyed creating such delicious meals to share with others. Will be going back here for sure on future Tahoe visits!“

“6 of us had a superb meal. The server was attentive, but forgot to mention the rolls had powdered garlic after I had told him I had a intolerance of Powdered and dried garlic.. I ordered the Lobster ravioli, which was an appetizer, for my dinner and a dinner sized portion was served. It was delicious and I devoured the whole dinner. Will come again when we are in the are.“

“We had a small wedding reception here on August 19. We started in the garden until rain moved in and MacDuffs quickly moved us inside and upstairs. The food and service were excellent. Our waitress was awesome and working with MacDuffs beforehand was great too. We were a party of 18 from Michigan and everyone was very complimentary! Highly recommend!!’“

We thought the host of the cafe was attentive and friendly alongside Francis - she’s a very warm, attentive, and loving lady who also recommended us to try their special Eggs Benedict.

The Waitress took our order for us starting with coffee, Eggs Benedict, and Omelette with Ham and Cheese. Each meal served with hash browns, and mine came with an English muffin too.

We waited probably around 10-12mins, the Eggs Benedict came a bit later but not that much different from a wait.

What we loved about their breakfast, both weren’t too overpowering with flavours. And that we can simply add condiments when we want to.

The only downside was the coffee no kick of strong, bold and good flavour and aroma from the coffee - we felt just drinking flavoured drink. Also the ambience which can be a bit noisy around, especially, we came during the peak hours.

We want to give compliments to the staff, the cooks, and the overall service. We’re very pleased with the food. And special mention to Francis, her enthusiasm and energetic presence added value to the Red Hut Cafe.

“Great breakfast/brunch spot in comparison to alternatives. Small and intimate restaurant with an additional cozy back dining room, located inside a boutique hotel. Elevated food options with shor rib beni the best option for my taste. The avocado toast and smoked salmon is assembled differently than normal but tasted great. The spice pear french toast was also a good option. Good coffee. The only challenge was getting a table as the host seemed a bit green to be hosting a busy service. But regardless a great experience.“

“Excellent experience from start to finish. Great food in a beautiful setting. We had the lamb, which was cooked perfectly, and the prix fixe prime rib—everything was amazing. Edgar at the host stand was very professional and knowledgeable, and our server John was fantastic and helped us choose the perfect wine. He's been working at Ciera for almost 4 decades! The manager Christin stopped by midway through our meal and was an absolute delight. She also told us about the Thursday and Sunday prix fixe menu for only $70, which is such a great value. We can't wait to return! Get the lobster escargot you won't be disappointed“

“We enjoyed everything we were served here! From the shrimp Chow Fun to the Eggplant in sweet and sour sauce, the dishes were cooked perfectly. The spicy chicken wings were crisp and flavorful with just the right amount of spice from the Serrano peppers. The bok choi, broccoli, and veggies we had were fresh and nothing was greasy. The noodles were great and we enjoyed the different meats we ordered. They season things well and nothing is overly sauced.

“We had them cater a welcome party for an estimated 80 people. Everyone on the phone was super helpful and very polite and nice. When my brother picked up the food the staff were very helpful and made sure we had everything covered tightly and secure and even gave us cardboard to protect the seats.

“Will start off by saying the food was great! However the hostess was another story. Recwntly had dinner on 8/11/24. The hostess would not let us sit at the table to start ordering drinks because we were missing 2 out of the 8 people in our group. needless to say we already had 6 ready to be seated. once we were seated the table next to us had the umbrella slanted. this caused the table to fly over from a gust of wind shattering a plate and cutting my leg. the stay was kind enough to provided a wipe and some bandaid. We continued our night until the hostess decided to empty water cups from other guest into the flower bed behind us. Which then caused the dirt to splash up on one of our guest white shirts and be covered in mud. A smug sorry was replied out. As stated before the food was terrific and the wait staff was great but the hostess needs to be replaced.“

“While this restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside, what they serve within is spectacular and a new family favorite. Appetizers were out in under five minutes and the main course within an additional five minutes. Food was hot and fresh. General Tsao was the favorite at the table. Even got a show of a couple bears outside in the dumpster.“

“We stopped at Super Tacos for a quick bite before heading to the Gondola. We each got 2 carne asada tacos and they were really good. I liked that they use 2 tortillas and cook the outer one a little more so the taco doesn’t fall apart—smart move.

I added guac to mine which was tasty, but the real winner was the green chili salsa… wow, so good and full of flavor. Service was fine, nothing amazing, but it’s an outdoor-only spot so it’s all about the food anyway.

I’d definitely come back and try a burrito next time.“
