“This is my favorite spot in the Astoria area. Not many jamaican restaurants over here and this one is pretty good. I order at least once a week. Only order the oxtail, curry goat, jerk pork/ chicken. Some of the other foods sit out and get dry. But yes their oxtail are my favorite and the prices ain't too bad! They just need to fix the lighting in their store. The atmosphere isn't very inviting. Fr the outside the store doesn't look open sometimes. Other than that the food is decent!“

“Today 9/9 I went into Juici Pattie on Church Avenue and the cashier Shad is the only one since I have been buying patties asked me for my phone number and I received a discount what a blessing that was make you want to recommend others for the discount. Last week I brought 1 doz to take to my son in Maryland and I did not get any credit and the guy did not take my number. I asked him why he did not take my number he was not a very pleasant guy but today’s service is excellent. Even Kymani was very helpful in helping me bring up the app. I received excellent customer service today. “The chef deserves a medal for grinding and cooking in this heat wave in such small quarters. The heat didn't affect his attitude at all though! He was so pleasant. I ordered the small ox tail plate that came with rice and beans and 2 big pieces of sweet plantain. I requested the Jamaican slaw which was a mixture of macaroni and cabbage and seasoning that I loved. The mac n cheese was exactly what a mac n cheese should be. Dense and delicious! The neighborhood really benefits from people like this sharing their culture and flavor so thank you!“

“I came here twice and I must say that the curry goat and fried chicken is the best. I order a medium curry goat with white rice and a side of fried chicken. 10/10. But for $26?! The issue is that you can’t really get what you want. Hear me out for example… you can’t get a small order of oxtail….like?! You can only get a medium size with a side. It’s overpriced. Just by looking at it I can tell it’s not even worth the price. Also if you get like a medium size meal with any meat and rice you can’t get it with plantain. It’s extra charge. BUT I WILL SAY THAT THE PORTION IS WORTH IT. THEY GIVE MORE. I’ve tried the Mac and cheese and it was baaaadd. Just cheese and unseasoned roux. That’s if they use roux. It’s oily and you can’t even see or smell a spec of seasoning. Taste like a sweet treat no shade. The fried chicken though I give that 15/10. Tastes better than Kennedys. The goat meat falls off the bonnnneeee. The rice is perfect; not too mushy and not too rough. I’m on my way there right now😂😂. Is it worth trying? Hell yeah. The Mac and cheese though.. that’s to your advantage.“

“So far, I have enjoyed Tosh's Patties by Columbus Circle, and through local pickup from their prep kitchen. The patties are fresh and so delicious at any location, and I am eager to see them everywhere. I know Tosh's would never compromise on quality. It doesn't get better than Tosh's Patties! The golden, well-seasoned, laminated dough keeps each patty internally tender, externally crispy and flaky, and is the perfect complement to the flavorful fillings. I like how some of them are more adventurous. There are specials every week along with their comprehensive regular menu. Right now my top two have to be the Ackee and Saltfish, and the vegan jerk mushroom! The jerk mushroom, I tried today, and it left a strong impression on me! I almost wouldn't believe it's vegan given how its dough/crust is as lovely as the non-vegan counterpart. I cannot get Tosh's Patties without getting an Ackee and Saltfish patty whenever it's available, that one is my favorite. The original beef is also fire. So juicy. And the Red Hook Lobster collab (coming soon) is delightful and creamy! I need to branch out and try more flavors, but I love the ones I've tried so much that it's a challenge to get something different!! Tosh's Patties are the best around! Not one recipe is too spicy, and if you want more heat you can add the scotch bonnet honey sauce. Tosh's punch is also not to be missed! Sweet, refreshing, with some warmth from the ginger even though it's nice and cold. It feels like the pineapple, ginger, and citrus all help with my digestion too. And the scotch bonnet honey sauce, that's money!!“

“I work at the hospital nearby so I frequent this location a lot😅 I’m vegetarian, and everytime I go there for my spinach patty they always make the extra effort to have them either ready, or made fresh for me. The entire staff is super nice and goes above and beyond. Gabby is one of the sweetest people there and I appreciate her soooo much for always making sure I’m able to get my veggie patty. “I saw that one review from the person saying their oxtail was bad, but saw a plethora of positive reviews standing against it. I decided to give them a go and do NOT regret it! Lovely little spot for a late night meal! The cashier was very pleasant with a great attitude. I came by after finding my Airbnb and ordered 3 empanadas: Jerk Chicken, Salmon, & Oxtail. This is not a standard menu option, but she told me I could mix and match :)

“Came to Continent Brooklyn for a late dinner and cocktails with some girlfriends and we had such a good time! The atmosphere is definitely one of the highlights — sexy, grown, and sophisticated without feeling stuffy. There were lots of couples enjoying date night along with a few other groups of girlfriends, and the DJ was great and kept the vibes going all night.

The food was absolutely the star. We shared several dishes, including the oxtail lo mein, salmon, mac & cheese and wings, and everything was flavorful and delicious. We finished with dessert, which was just as good. Definitely come hungry!

The cocktails were probably the one area that didn’t quite live up to the rest of the experience. They weren’t bad, but considering how good the food and overall atmosphere were, I expected the drinks to be a little stronger/better.

That said, we had a great night. Between the food, music, beautiful interior and lively atmosphere, Continent is a great choice for a late dinner, date night or girls’ night out. I would absolutely come back“

The food is consistently delicious and made to order — no food sitting out on a heater waiting for someone to order. I’ve had the jerk shrimp, curry shrimp roti, jerk salmon, and other items and the food is always fresh, tasty, and plentiful. They sell juices and cake which are also amazing. “The Jamaican Jerk Chicken tastes like baby back ribs, but in a way - (in my opinion) it's better, since it's chicken and not pork. It has that smoky, smoked-spicy baby back rib flavor but with a kick of Jamaican spices. Very tasty.

“Today I walked into Lucky’s and ordered the stewed chicken and curry chicken. I have no hesitation when saying this might be the best student curry chicken I’ve ever tasted in my life. And believe me this is not my first curry, chicken or stewed chicken. The flavor on both the chickens were impeccable. The chicken was so tender, and could easily be picked off the bone. And the stew and curry complemented the soft rice beautifully. I will definitely be coming to Luckys again. This is my new favorite Jamaican food spot in New York City.“

“I visited this place twice and enjoyed the food on both occasions. On my first visit, I had the rice and peas and jerk chicken, which was solid. On my second visit, I tried the rice and peas and kingfish, which was also good. However, the price of the kingfish seemed a bit high for the portion size.

Macaroni looks appealing, but it wasn’t very good. I wouldn’t recommend it.

“I absolutely love this spot! Any time I am in the Bronx I have to stop in and get my favorite curry chicken with rice(lathered in that curry gravy) and peas and cabbage😋…. My wife’s favorite dish is the oxtail with rice and peas and cabbage of course. Their fried chicken goes well with brown stew chicken gravy. I’ve had their jerk chicken, curry goat, brown stewed chicken, Mac and cheese is also really good. I have been meaning to try the salmon and their shrimp, I think that will be next. I will say aside from that, you can expect friendly service. Atmosphere is calming 🤗 did I say I love this place? 😬“
