“loved the Pistachio cake from Luigi’s in Carmel so much that I ordered one for my mother’s 96th birthday. I was in Florida and couldn’t partake but my sister picked it up in Carmel and my mom, sister and family were able to enjoy it. There were 7 people at dinner and due to the size and height of the cake, you can see they barely made a dent (however it was completely gone within 2 days). Everyone was absolutely crazy about it and everyone sent me pictures and called to thank me. It’s a shame to even call it a cake because you naturally think of something you buy in a bakery. This is a whole different world. This cake is exquisite. The flavor is outstanding, it is extremely moist, it has a ton of filling and frosting but not that sickeningly sweet kind – this is all top notch ingredients and completely unique. I felt awful because I know I didn’t give Luigi’s much notice and I know his wife worked 14 hours the previous day baking. But I didn’t feel so guilty that it stopped me from ordering it and they were so gracious about helping me. As you can see in the pictures, the attention to detail, the edible flowers, the beauty of the cake made it a birthday present in and of itself. I just cannot thank Luigi and his awesome wife enough for helping to make my mom’s 96th birthday special.“

“My wife and I recently found this place about a year ago. Have gone 4 times and have had nothing but exceptional service and food. I sort of want to keep this place a hidden gem. They recommend reservations, but walking in should be no issue for a small party of 2-4. However, every time I make a reservation, we are greeted and seated immediately with our table prepared and water already served, which is a nice touch. Not many restaurants actually prepare the table for the reservation that was made previously.Each time we have had the same waiter which has been great. He is always accommodating and polite and attentive. Other staff have also been friendly and kind.Soft butter is always served to go with the delicious bread. The fried calamari is great. The chicken parm is good. My favorite has been the NY Strip with Gorgonzola cheese melted on top. Cooked perfect each time. The cheese gives it a great flavor that just works well together. Had it twice and my wife also had it and it’s delicious each time. And for dessert the tartufo is probably the best I’ve had. Highly recommend.We have decided to make this a place for special occasions such as birthdays or anniversary’s. It’s a place that we truly enjoy and look forward to coming to for years to come. Highly suggest it. Prices are very reasonable. Much more expensive places with mediocre food. This place is worth every penny.“

Drove up from the Bronx and even though it was enjoyable, I won't be going back. Why? Because I hate to be "nickel & dimed" ...I never question prices. I order what I want but when the check is upwards of $70 but I see I was charged for both cups of coffee, it's a turn-off! A little advice: let your customers be aware that there are no free refills on a cup of coffee instead of surprising them with a $10 charge for coffee. Good luck!“

There prices recently for pasta went through the roof almost no difference between getting a pasta dish or a chicken dish. I would definitely lower the pasta prices, come on pasta is free. But with that being said It is good food but just not a everynight spot bc of the prices“

“I've passed by this place several times and never thought to go in—thank God I finally did. This is a true Italian deli. My mother, who is full Italian, was in awe of the items they had—it brought back memories of her childhood. I ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich, and it was fantastic—one of the best I've ever had. The owner was incredibly sweet and accommodating. If you're looking for authentic Italian specialties like pasta, sauces, sweets, or just an amazing deli sandwich, this is the place to go.“

They are quick, often delivering faster than expected and the food is always great! “Mezzaluna restaurant is a great place to visit. I live in South Carolina and when my wife and I travel to NY we always visit Mezzaluna several times a week. The food and service is always excellent as is our usual waiter, Nick. He is great at his job, very friendly, observant, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. “A hidden gem. Unlike other Italian restaurants in Brewster, they know how to make a tomato sauce that actually tastes like tomatoes! And is light on the salt, unlike the salt bombs at the most popular Italian restaurant nearby. The food is positively delicious. And their family meals are both delicious and a bargain. We had a last minute family get together, and ordered 5 family meals. It was a huge amount of food, and they had the entire order ready in 30 minutes. On a Saturday night!!!! We were certain that we would have ample leftovers, at least 1/3. But it was all devoured! Because everyone loved the food. It was greatFinally, the owners and the young girls that take the orders are so nice. A true delight.This is truly a hidden gem. Yum!!!!“

“I really enjoyed the food it was really amazing ?. The atmosphere was really great. The only thing that was a bit off was that it took an incredibly long amount of time for us to actually get our food. We got there at 6:15 and we didn't actually get our dinner until 8 and by that point I was beyond hungry because our party was so big the appetizers were not for a group that size. That being said the portion size of the food was HUGE! Definitely priced right ?. Everyone loved their food. Everyone had leftovers! I'm pretty sure if my friends made reservations EARLIER, possibly we would have had 2 waiters instead of just the one. If you have a big party, make reservations at least a week in advance. We were a party of 15 and they actually forgot one of my friends food and she sat there waiting for 5 minutes until they came over to put cheese on her ziti and she had no Ziti ?. They quickly recovered and got her a huge bowl of food but her meal was pretty simple, it didn't even have meat in it. The party of 15 I think was just too much. The other people dining looked like the service was pretty normal. Just ours too a while.“
