“In pre-Covid days in the summer i often came for the takeout and to sit under their tent. Usually had by a very tasty seafood sandwich. Returned this Sunday and sat with my daughter in their very clean and comfortable indoor sitting area. Order at the counter where menu is posted as well as a blackboard of specials. We ordered the fried calamari and seafood risotto. The calamari was exceptional and truly the best I’ve ever had. The seafood risotto was not what a risotto is. It was not creamy and with two clams three mussels two thinly sliced pieces of chorizo and three shrimp placed on top. Go to an Italian or Spanish restaurant for a better creation with more Mediterranean flavor. I will come back for the calamari. They have in a can local wine. Pinot grigio was really good.Service is good but wish they had given us a small receptacle for the shellfish.“

“Update: Went back their 1st day open again (March 28 2024).. and of course, had my favorite mezzo app! ? That pita bread ?Sam was great as always but one thing that did happen was a credit card charge on receipt but we paid cash. It says CC service charge. We just asked about it and then she said she forgot to take it off so we just told her if she took it off to just keep it as part of the tip we already left. Also we ordered mussels but felt like we took out a lot of empty shells. We found some in the broth but was alot of empty more than would be. Enough that we both questioned it. so we will try again.B loves the cornbread. I just remember the key lime pie I had last year for my bday. Yum!OLD REVIEW: I thought I already left a review but realized I didn't. This was my favorite discovery last Summer and I kept coming back bringing different people! I got sad to see it was temporarily closed but it is scheduled to open today and we are coming! ? Gotta go find all the pictures. I even celebrated my Bday there last year. Willing to drive from Southampton just to order to go ? Such a cute place...great food!“

“Great location on the water. The service was impeccable, the waitress took order for 6 people without taking notes and nailed every meal and drink. Amazing. The clam chowder was delicious although the NY steak was a little tougher than I expected, but the side of truffle fries almost made up for it.Would return and recommend as all the dishes looked great.“

“This is a follow up to our 2023 review of R., Aire at the Hampton Maid in Hampton Bays. As superb as R. Aire was during the past eighteen months, recent visits underscore that the restaurant continues to reach new culinary heights under Chef and Owner Alex Bujoreanu. In a landscape of high priced and often mediocre restaurants on the East End, R. Aire is a unique venue - a chef driven restaurant which offers sophisticated cuisine inspired by the classics of Spain - in an elegant, serene setting - and at moderate prices.Although we have previously taken note of R. Aire’s outstanding signature paellas, the “non rice” sections of the menu offer a range of equally delicious dishes - all made with the finest (and often local) ingredients and reflecting the chef’s masterful synthesis of both classical and modern influences. For example, Chef Bujoreanu offers an amazing Fideua - a short grain pasta dish cooked in the method of paella (in a paella pan) in a richly flavored sofrito. R. Aire’s Fideua is a textural wonder, served two ways - as a seafood and squid ink classic or a rustic wild mushroom and duck version. Fideua is rarely offered in the U.S. - these renditions are authentic and superb.R. Aire’s appetizers and small plate “pinchos”offer an array of delectable choices, from flavorful morsels of grilled lamb (Morunos), aromatic grilled Shishito peppers, succulent octopus, airy meatballs and a lovely heirloom beet salad. One could construct a deeply satisfying dinner from these perfectly composed small plates. In addition to the Fideua and traditional paellas for which R. Aire is known - the paellas have a perfect “socarrat” base and are cooked to order and served in individual paella pans - the non rice dishes are equally impressive. Memorable main courses include pristine local sea scallops, breast of duck, Iberico pork and a filet mignon of Wagyu beef. This is cooking at a very high level. The service at R. Aire is warm and inviting. The restaurant’s gracious manager, Grigore, provides an attentive hands on presence in the dining room; he is clearly focused on delivering the service and hospitality which has been the restaurant’s credo since it opened. It should be noted the restaurant’s wine list has continued to evolve, offering a range of wines from Spain and the U.S. and other wine regions from excellent producers - and at fair prices. In a world of formulaic restaurants and homogeneous food, R. Aire stands out for its warmth, value and brilliant cooking. Bravo to Chef Bujoreanu and his team for creating a special venue in Hampton Bays.“

“Food was excellent and service was very attentive. I think prices are reasonable. Was disappointed that we had to sit in the other room on Valentine's Day...it was bright and no fireplace. No real decor. The main dining area was much nicer.“

“This is up there for best meal I've had. For appetizers we got a dozen of the East coast oysters which were very fresh and sweet, The Naughty Blu was very good and, when asked, got a generous amount of extra blue cheese olives, the Apple Bread Pudding was amazing and a decent size. But the star of the meal was the Local Flounder Francaise. The fish was flaky and well seasoned, the veggies were perfectly cooked and the beurre blanc sauce was nice and rich. Overall, *french kiss*. Giving 4 stars though because, while our server was nice and attentive, they didn't know whether one dessert had nuts in it or not, which one person in our party was allergic to. Luckily, before she ate it we luckily caught it in time. But with nut allergies being so serious and common you should know what does or does not have nuts in it.“
“Very nice restaurant, a part of an inn. very specious inside but there is also sitting outside which is nice as it is between 2 buildings and you have plenty of shade. We had the Claude's Tacos (recommended), Fish and Chips ( a it blend, but I loved it), Lobster Roll (on a ban, but still excellent).“
“Still thinking about my perfectly seasoned and cooked (so tender) bone in pork chop. Everyone loved their dishes. My beet salad appetizer was delicious , oysters fresh and a lovely glass of delicious Sicilian wine. Good value, great dining experience.“

“We are so glad to have tried this place despite the word "cafe" in its name. Everything we ordered was delicious, and beautifully presented. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Really like the decor, simple, clean and peaceful. Definitely on the return list, and if I were you, I would ignore some of the not so positive reviews of the place and give it a try!“

“I cannot praise this restaurant and the staff enough. My boyfriend and I had the most incredible night here, EVER! We were so lucky to find this place last minute. The decor is beautiful, from the bar, the dining room, to the smoking lounge. The manager/bartender/server for the night, Dylan, went above and beyond to give us a great experience. Our waitress was friendly and polite, we were even lucky enough to meet the head chef and sous. We also met the wonderful Jazz couple that performed the night we went. We stayed here for *hours*. No exaggeration!FANTASTIC FOOD AND DRINKS!! And for someone who eats at a lot of places, the pricing for everything was more than reasonable, especially for the quality. I still tell the story of my visit here, and i’m going to for years to come. I am so excited to go back with my friends and family. If you’re considering any restaurant in Southampton, for real, try Main Prospect.“

“Came here for a bridal shower and couldnt believe the view and food! The spaghetti and meatballs was extraordinarily delicious and they kept the amazing bread coming! I even asked for extra to take home. They did an amazing job hosting the bridal shower. I have it on my radar to go back for dinner in the near future as well. Great experience here.“

“Nice spot right on the water with a varied menu. We loved the raw oysters and the meat and cheese platter. The duck wings were a bit on the tough side but the sauce is a winner. The blackberry margarita sounded great on paper, but in the mouth it wasn't the best combo. They had a band playing in the bar on a Saturday night. Will be a great place to return to when the weather gets warmer and we can eat outside.“

“Nice little sandwich shop in Mattituck. We hit this place before going to a couple wineries nearby. The woman behind the counter was quite nice and told us about her few favorite sandwiches. We ordered fries, the game day, and Charlie's brother in law. Everything was tasty and fresh. The game day was delicious but could have used more sauce and honestly a little less chicken. Charlie's brother in law was perfect. Nice and lite. Fries had great seasoning/batter but unfortunately stuck together a bit. Will return!“

“Went with family who raved about this place. It was old school with great service, the owner made me a Moscow mule after I stumped the server! Everyone else ordered prime rib and enjoyed it, my fried chicken was lukewarm and not crispy. Shared a butter cake dessert which was pretty good. The inside is definitely giving a retro vibe and love the sign out front.“

“Restaurant week, thought we would take a ride out east to Capt Jack's On The Coast. To start, the bartendress was so delightful, and she introduced us to the Happy Hour $4 Peroni. Stop right there! Not many places on the island even have this Italian beer on tap, much less overlooking the lovely view of Peconic Marina! To add, dinner was delightful! We saw a crab stuffed pretzel as an appetizer and just could not visualize these two paired together, but decided to try. Kudos to the chef, this was a tempting appetizer, very delicious and satisfying! We also had the appetizer of mussels in Bloody Mary sauce, something I could write about for many pages! Entree was the the shrimp over grits. However, and thankfully, NOT southern style, but pan seared into a crisp cake that lent itself to the Black Tiger shrimp in such a complimentary way! Still dreaming about this dish a week later. My husband experienced the Hake and mussels, cooked to absolute perfection! Dessert included peanut butter cake which was light and mouth melting. The topper? Atmosphere was cozy, warm and welcoming with the staff being genuine and attentive. What a find! We will be back and I can say, best meal to date of 2024! Thank you, Captain Jack's On The Coast, for a wonderful sunset evening!“

“A friend was going on and on about this place, swearing by their Porterhouse steak. Stepping inside felt like stumbling upon a cozy dive-bar-meets-elegant-dining gem, with a charmingly "homey feel" that immediately puts you at ease. You could tell it is a spot that mostly only locals frequent. They gave us the nod to choose our own seat and we instantly felt at home. The waitress who greeted us was as friendly as she was eager to take our drink orders. I opted for the marinated steak over salad, while my husband ordered the marinated porterhouse. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, expertly cooked to perfection. Overall, it's exactly what they said it would be: cozy, with loads of character, and the servers are pretty friendly too. It's a dining experience you won't find anywhere else on the North Fork, a real adventure for your taste buds. Next time you're feeling like a carnivore, make sure you visit the elbow room in Jamesport. I hear they have another location, but I was told this is the best one. The verdict? The Elbow Room charmed its way into our hearts.“

“We first visited Sophie's about 10 years ago-we were not impressed. Mostly fried food served in styrofoam plates and uncomfortable high-top tables. This past fall, we visited Sophie's again (first time in 10 years). WOW-what an improvement! Delicious marinated steak, fantastic clams-on real plates! Beautifully decorated, comfortable dining table and chairs, friendly staff-great food and drinks. We have returned several times since-always satisfied with our dining experience!! My one complaint-don't serve appys with plastic plates.“

“Commander Cody’s Fish Market is a mainstay on Shelter Island. Owners Jimmy Hayward and his daughter Amanda, serve the best fried chicken and assortment of smoked fish that people come from far and wide to enjoy. Recently I stopped in and got containers of prepared food from their fridge: potato salad cole slaw, ribs (to warm up at home) and smoked bluefish, and it was absolutely delicious. The smoked ribs are to die for, by the way. With family-run restaurants with a personal touch becoming such a rarity in this area, we are fortunate to have Commander Cody’s here on our little island. During peak times in the summer, the parking can get a little tight so parking on the street is a good idea. Following a Hamptons magazine review, Commander Cody’s got “discovered” and during the summer it is often best to order hot food in advance. As is often the case for the best, there might be a wait, but the outcome is worth it.“

“We live in this town and we have been here many times. They have a great happy hour with half-price drinks most days of the week and on Fridays half price apps. We went for a full dinner several times this summer and we' have not been disappointed. Special recommendations for bartender Eddie, and waitress Katie. Recommend the dishes - apps: Baja fish tacos, fish chouda, Thai chili mussels, Entree: crusted cod. The chicken Milanese looks wonderful, but didn't actually have it. The shrimp and grits with sausage was only OK. I can make it better at home. Sit outside on the deck when the weather is wonderful, but sit inside when it is marginal.“

“Such a great place, we go every year after we get our Christmas tree, nice warm days we walk across to the beach/water and take in the views. The food is great, service is great also. The restaurant is split with a bar side with TVs for more casual dining, or the dining room side. Great menu selection and specials are always good too!“

“Interior is warm and inviting, our server was exceptionally welcoming and friendly with myself and wife. Was never rushed and maintained welcomed intervals of time between courses. The choices were enticing but the specials are what we ordered and they were delicious. Presentation hit the mark and cocktails were great. I would gladly recommend Touch of Venice to everyone. Truly an enjoyable experience in fine dining.“
