“The sandwiches are great and more than anything they have amazing customer support. I made a mistake when ordering one time online and ordered from this subway when I was over an hour away I came back in two days and they were able to provide me with the food I initially ordered that I never picked up, the food is always great. They work fast and I appreciate it.“

“This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They know what they're doing and what they're talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is stunning!! Some italian classics and some twists, amazing wines and for their prices it's 100% worth it. Love this place and I can't wait to return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in NYC.“

“DeFontes is one of those Brooklyn institutions that instantly reminds you why some places never need a refresh.\n\nI went straight for the Signature Hot Roast Beef and, in a moment of well justified indulgence, added the Steak Pizzaiola. Zero regrets. These sandwiches are unapologetically stuffed. Meat, cheese, sauce, seasoning, all layered with confidence and generosity that feels almost defiant in today’s portion-controlled world.\n\nAnd the bread matters here. It’s fresh, warm, and crisp in all the right places, sturdy enough to carry the weight of the fillings without stealing the spotlight. It’s the perfect vehicle for the kind of sandwich that requires both hands and lots of napkins.\n\nOrdering at the counter may look intimidating at first, like there’s a secret rhythm you’re supposed to know and have rehearsed. Don’t stress it. The service is quick, efficient, and genuinely friendly. The staff are happy to guide you through it, even if it’s your first time staring at the menu trying to decide how hungry you actually are.\n\nJust keep in mind that there’s no seating beyond a stand-up counter along the wall, so plan accordingly. This is very much a grab-and-go or eat-it-immediately experience.\n\nDeFontes isn’t chasing trends. It doesn’t have to. This is classic, expertly executed deli cooking that delivers exactly what you want and then some.“

“I went here today and had the most delightful lunch with my boyfriend. The co-owner was very welcoming and gave us many suggestions. We split a French onion soup and the duck panini. The co-owner gave us a delicious roasted pepper dip and a mustard sauce that went great with the sandwich. He also ended up giving us a Nutella crepe on the house! The food was great and the co-owner was lovely.“

“Ok, maybe I shouldn’t have picked marathon Sunday to finally hit up Frankel’s—it was packed! But what a great spot. I love their creative breakfast sandwich options, and the vibe was pure NYC energy. I got the pastrami, egg, and cheese on a challah bun, and it was exceptional. Perfectly balanced, rich, and just messy enough in the best way. 10 out of 10. I’ll definitely be back.“

“Been going to Faiccos for over 45 years now and nothing has changed thank goodness. The absolute best Italian cold cuts sandwiches, cheese and other specialities served by clean professional knowledgeable staff. The wrapping of the meats is a work of art in it self. Quality is amazing fresh and you can taste each item if you desire. The employees ability to cut tge meats so thin you can read the paper thru them still amazes me. Store is always very clean and workers are clean and well groomed important when they are touching your food. In 45 years never a problem never an issue
Always perfect just perfect.
Try tge home made sopresota or Italian from Italy mortadell or 8 different salami or a sandwich. Tge house made mottsorella is also amazing. Well worth the wait“

“Overall great place. Very simple, no frills, but the food is amazing. The Banh mis are thr best ive had and the pork, rice and salas is great as well.
My only wish is that they had some more vegeterian options since apart from the egg banh mi, there is nothing else. The other thing would be accepting card payments. But overall great food, service and prices.“

“We had a takeaway of those pastrami sandwiches and tuna salad which were awesome, so we ordered more after we finished the first batch.
We waited like 15-20 minutes in lunch time.

“Fantastic gluten-free bagels! Literally the best I've had. Great spreads: horseradish cream cheese and scallion cream cheese also the best I've even had. Ordered delivery and bagels arrived nice & hot & toasty.
Now I'm back home in Los Angeles after this work trip with my boss, and both of us crave these fine GF bagels.“

“Steep prices but the sandwiches are extraordinary and the owner is a kind soul. The turkey is roasted in house and the softest juiciest I've ever had in a sandwich. By far the best gluten free roll I've had a sandwich on and no reaction to any cross contamination. We came here from across the country on our honeymoon and have found a place we'll be sure to come back to.“
“Their sandwiches are absolutely delicious. The sauce is literally magical but the flavor of the pork is also so, so tasty. My husband and I went a few days ago with our 10 month old daughter, she slept in the stroller the whole time so there is great atmosphere as well. I already can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!“

“A little gem. This small spot with a beautiful back patio squeezed in a group of 10 or so. The mushroom pizza was all we had but was 5/5 and worth a trip. Their dough is so light and pillowy but with crisp edges and a fantastic bite. The toppings on the mushroom pizza were perfectly seasoned and a very nice ratio (not overpowering the cheese or dough). Honestly though, the dough was special and is worth the trip to explore their other pizzas. Next time we come we will absolutely get a few pies and take home whatever is left. But if everything is as good as that mushroom pizza, there's small chance of leftovers.“
“Culture Lab is a awesome place. They had exhibits of swords and armor. They also had a concession stand as soon as you enter the building and they had concerts and concession stands outside in front of their building. Will be back to culture lab to check out the other concerts.“

“Stopped in tonight, not very crowded which was great and the food was served super quickly. Loved every bite!
The highlight of the night was Lourdes the cashier/ attendant. She was so friendly and welcoming and attentive. She was able to recommend things on the menu and elaborate on the options.
While I was eating she kept checking in on me and my guest and walking around cleaning surfaces and tidying up the space. Amazing customer service from her. Would absolutely recommend this place and I hope anyone that stops in gets to meet Lourdes.“

“It's a very old fashioned place. I was the only black person in there when I walked in, but was treated just as wonderful as anyone else. Cash only, the register is extremely old. (I remember seeing a similar one at a diner in Long Island, but they renovated and stored the old one in the basement.)The parking lot holds about 8 to 10 cars. It's not plenty of parking, but at least you can park without worrying about the meter. The servers are awesome. They really seem to know their job. As soon as someone gets up they wipe the table and then seat whoever is next at a table. I got the roast beef sandwich with cheese and onions double dipped and cheese fries. I asked the server which should I order between the onions rings and cheese fries and he picked the cheese fries. The food was fantastic and much cheaper than all the other restaurants that sell french dip. French dip is simply a roast beef sandwich that you can dip in a sauce that has beef stock with some seasoning. The drinks come in a paper cup, unless it's beer (which is served in a mug). I suppose it's less dishes, but it just looks odd compared to how the rest of the meal is served on small plates. The price for the sandwich and the cheese fries with tax came up to less than $20. I'm not complaining, give them a try.“

“if you want a real serious burger, go to Wrap &Run heavy burger, more meat than the bread.$9.95 no tax I highly recommend a cheeseburger with American cheese from Wrap &Run. 77th St. in Lexington Avenue I had a black iron burger from the theater District. It was awful. more bread than meat and it was small like a patty it said $9.95 and when I got my bill, it was $14.95 go to Wrap &Run you will be satisfied with a real burger not a party“

“The food is great, but the cashier often messes up my order. Even when I specifically ask them not to add a certain item, they still manage to get it wrong, which drives me nuts. Sometimes I just deal with it, but other times I feel the need to point out the mistake directly. I try to be polite, especially to the people preparing my dish, and I feel terrible bringing it up. However, the cashier needs to do their job and pay attention to my requests. I always make it clear what I want on my sandwich. The employees are great and always try to please their customers since they try to redo it and basically made it better, but the cashiers need to improve. Smh.“
