“I recently dined at Zen Fusion Cuisine in Fresh Meadows, and it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was serene and inviting, setting the perfect mood for a relaxing meal. The menu offers a diverse selection of dishes, blending Thai, Japanese, and Vietnamese cuisines. I opted for the all-you-can-eat option, which was both reasonably priced and offered a wide variety of fresh sushi and hibachi items. The sushi was exceptionally fresh, and the hibachi dishes were flavorful. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that our dining experience was enjoyable. I highly recommend Zen Fusion Cuisine to anyone looking for a satisfying and diverse Asian fusion meal in Queens. I strongly recommend spicy girl rolls!!!“

“I was in the area and wanted a quick bite. Looked for kosher sushi and found them. Their torpedo roll was one of the best sushi rolls i ever had - it was simply delicious. I had another roll as well, it was good, but the torpedo roll is a winner.“

“This is a review specifically about the Ikura don. I love ikura so was super happy to see that they have ikura don on the menu! I also got the chirashi don, which was great. But as for the ikura... why is it so sweet? The ikura is marinated in a very SWEET sauce.... that I could hardly taste the special taste of the ikura itself. I just wanted to let the management know that that marinade sauce for the ikura is WAY too sweet!! Please highlight the taste of the ikura itself. 🙏🙏🙏“

“Fantastic speakeasy sushi joint. Very small, no more than an handful of people may join the omasake style bar where 3 talented (and cool) chefs serve you the best crafted sushi you can get. Definitely going back soon.“

“I'll try to keep this to the point —
I gave Food/Service/Atmosphere 5 🌟 because they were on par for me. For a local spot, this really took me by surprise.
What I ordered:
Miso Soup:
Standard Miso Soup, nothing groundbreaking, but very tasty. Would have loved a tad more tofu & scallion, but that's just me.
Salmon Avocado Hand roll:
Not the hand roll I expected meaning it wasn't in the cone shape I'm familiar with, but it came presented like a taco with the seaweed as the shell. Salmon cuts were huge, and with great colour, avocado was bright & ripe, coupled with the perfect amount of rice. Everything tasted clean, and fresh.
Yellowtail Jalapeno Nigiri:
I messed up with this, originally I wanted a sushi roll, but my brain flubbed. Great mistake though, because the yellowtail was delicious, practically melted in my mouth, topped with a delicate cut of jalapeno on top.
Love Milk Tea:
Honestly, just a really delicious milk tea topped with osmanthus flower. It was light, refreshing, and not too sweet thankfully.
Wagyu Tataki:
Tataki is meant to be briefly seared on the outside, but the center remains raw. Was this seared to the degree I wanted? No. But, was it delicious? Yes. And the meat was incredibly tender, flavour of the sauces really complimented everything on the plate.
I finished off with a matcha cheesecake to go, I'm sure it'll be good.
With tip, I spent $67
Again, for a local spot in Richmond Hill/Kew Gardens, I was thoroughly impressed and satisfied. Personally, with slight adjustments, these folks would do great in midtown. I spent a little under what I would spend at a restaurant in the city, and got an incredibly satisfying meal, and left full.“
“DASHI OKUME is a hidden gem in Brooklyn! The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the calming aroma of quality Japanese ingredients and a beautifully curated space that feels like a slice of Tokyo. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about dashi, and they take the time to walk you through the different varieties and combinations based on your taste preferences.
The custom dashi blends are a game-changer—deep, umami-rich, and incredibly fresh. You can really taste the difference compared to store-bought broth. Whether you’re making miso soup, noodle dishes, or even just sipping it on its own, the flavor is next-level.
They also carry a great selection of premium Japanese pantry staples, and everything is presented with care and attention to detail. DASHI OKUME isn’t just a shop—it’s an experience. Highly recommend to anyone who loves Japanese cuisine or wants to elevate their home cooking!“

“How spoiled am I to have this little shop of delights a few blocks from my front door? Onigiri, Masubi, and Katsu o my. I’d advise coming hungry or bringing a friend the portions are generous and amazingly paired with a genuinely warm and welcoming staff. Also amazing merch, really can’t say enough positive things about my local mini mart :)“

“Went looking for sushi in the neighborhood and stumbled on this place.
Small unassuming shop with a few seats.
We (2) ordered three rolls (eel avocado / shrimp tempura/ spicy salmon) and the chirashi.
Everything came out presented very nicely - see photos
I was very impressed with both the quantity of food and the quality of the fish. Everything was very fresh.
The only thing I did not like was that the spicy salmon roll and these small crispy bits in them. This is likely a personal preference but I would maybe ask to have them prepare it without next time.
Price / value on this place is excellent.
We will be back and already recommended to friends“

“What an incredible night. We went for a birthday celebration. The food was absolutely transcendent. Each and every dish was perfectly curated with a sake with music with absolutely beautiful plating. It truly was a feast for the senses the eyes the ears the taste buds. What an incredible night. Although there were only two of us who came in together we felt that we made 10 friends that we spent the evening with. The way that the host and the chefs engaged with all of us made the evening so much fun. I highly highly recommend the restaurant, the food and the entertainment. It was truly a night to remember!“

“It doesn’t get better than this! Been to countless restaurants and Uzuki stood out for its next-to-none craftsmanship, amazing food, and lovely atmosphere. Check out Bon Appetit’s video on Uzuki (“A Day Making Some of the World’s Best Soba Noodles”) to see how much skill and artistry goes into these noodles. We got the tofu, salmon ikura cold soba, duck soba, and soba ice cream and every bite of each dish was incredible. Was truly worth every cent! The ceramics they use are also full of character and actually made by the chef himself!“

“Great place for a quick bite at a nice price! I had the Thinly Sliced Beef Donburi. It also came with egg, seaweed salad, and a nice miso soup to top it off. The beef was cooked very well and had a smoky flavor I’ve had in some of my favorite places in Japan. Would definitely come back here! 😁“

“Food was so authentic. It took me back to some of my favorite spots on St. Marks back when Japanese Restaurants were kind of hole in the wallish and actually owned and prepared by Japanese. Tonkatsu was super crispy and moist. Udon was clean with a true Japanese flavor not flavor packet garbage some restaurants are passing off these days. The curry udon was amazing. Chirashi was delicate, flavorful and fresh. Great staff. Loved it all. Will be back and soon.“

“This place is absolutely amazing! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Every dish tastes authentic — you can tell they use quality ingredients. The orange chicken and fried rice are my favorites, but honestly, everything on the menu is delicious. The staff are super friendly and make you feel welcome every time you visit. Service is fast, prices are fair, and the portions are generous. Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants around — highly recommend!“

“My family and I celebrated my mother-in-law's birthday with a dinner for ten at Tiger Sushi in Great Neck today, and it was a truly spectacular experience!
We decided to keep things easy and celebratory by ordering three of the restaurant's party platter dishes to share. This was a fantastic decision. The quality was super across the board. Every piece of sushi, sashimi, and every roll was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. You could tell that the fish was of the highest grade, practically melting in your mouth.
The platters were not only generous in portion but also artfully arranged, making our table look incredibly festive. Even with our large group of ten, the three platters provided more than enough variety and food for everyone to enjoy their fill.
From start to finish, the food was the highlight—authentic, fresh, and exceptionally high quality. If you're looking for a special place to celebrate a milestone with a large group, or just want to enjoy some truly great Japanese cuisine, Tiger Sushi is highly recommended. It was the perfect meal for a perfect family celebration!“

“If you don’t like a ramen with an actual broth base, keep walking! But if you like quality ingredients and no-frills ramen, this is the ramen for you. Shio is straight broth and the Sho Yu is slightly a bolder version.
The Cha-Shu pork were excellent cuts, with the right mix of meat and fat, and they were braised to the perfect melt-in-your-mouth texture without being too soft.
All for $18. Yes please. There is clearly a focus on quality ingredients and precision preparation. The atmosphere felt very tidy and a step above casual, with light jazz music and airy decor. A great add to the neighborhood.
The fries were quite nice as well.
The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. They had an authentic interest in our dining experience. We’ll definitely be returning from time to time. Hopefully brunch is similarly impressive!
FWIW, we sat at the bar for a chill date night and enjoyed to intersecting with the bartender while she carefully crafted mixed drinks that each had a unique edge to them.“

“We had such a great experience here tonight I feel compelled to write a review. The food was absolutely outstanding from start to finish and the service was perfect. I honestly loved everything I ate, but stand-outs for me were the wagu “tacos” and the tofu salad. The atmosphere was also so nice, too. No notes! Highly recommend!“

“This elegant sushi spot is a true gem serving everything from ultra-fresh sashimi to creative à la carte dishes—all packed with authentic Japanese flavor. 🍣
The sashimi was incredibly fresh, but the pizza sushi completely stole the show—crispy, flavorful, and unlike anything I’ve had before.
If you're craving top-tier sushi without the Manhattan crowds, this is your sign. Save this spot—you’ll thank me later. 😉🫶“

“I ate at Shiro November 4, 2025 (today), and it was outstanding. My daughter and I had the lunch special ($20 for 3 rollls, miso soup and salad). My spouse had the sushi and sashimi special. We also ordered garlic and sea salt edamame. The sushi was super fresh, well prepared, and we received excellent service. We went at a time that was less busy (about 3:45ish) so I don’t know what it’s like at peak times, but there is an bar area with several seats and a small upstairs area. We will absolutely be returning to Sushi Shiro. Loved it.“

“Authentic Japanese spot serving quality cuts at a fraction of the price of other places. Particularly enjoyed the salmon and tuna cuts as well as the takoyaki. “I came here hoping to go to the old Chinese restaurant that was there before, but I tried this place and glad I did. The teriyaki dishes are good. I loved the enthusiasm and the free spring rolls they gave to first-time customers. The restaurant is really clean and has a fun atmosphere. Would recommend to people in this neighborhood to give them business.“

“Another amazing dinner from Katsuno. Our favorite authentic Japanese restaurant in NYC came through for us once again, this time with take-out. Tonight we had the Tuna Avocado Salad, Nigiri Sushi, Pork Hirekatsu, and Tempura Udon. All served with a refreshing can of Funaguchi Kikusui Sake. Everything was fresh and delicious as always and served curbside in a safe no contact manner. Thank you Katsuno!“

“Went inside on a whim and so glad we did. The handrolls were incredible. The fish was great quality and creativity was next level. Our favorites were the xo scallop (must get), tuna poke, salmon serrano, aka ebi, toro scallion, and spicy lobster. Not as big of a fan of cooked/fried fish in sushi, but tried the coconut shrimp and spicy crab dynamite due to the many recommendations, and thought they were just okay. Also didn’t think the caviar starter was anything special.“

“Oh my god! We had a great dinner at this place. The food was amazing, service was great and the place looks cool. It was our first time trying this place but we'll definitely go back. It will be in our favorite restaurant list for sure. I'm so happy to have this place in our neighborhood. it's just 20 min walk. Awesome!! We'll be a regular!“
“They have the best or 2nd best pork katsu and chicken kara-age that I’ve ever tried. All the food including the fish have been fresh. Love the onigiri. The rice is cooked perfectly with a pristine balance in flavor and stickiness. Just wish they were as large as the onigiri I had from 7/11 in Asia.“
“We had a great experience last night! Our waitress, Elley, was amazing. Friendly, attentive and made sure we always had what we needed. She explained the menu clearly and checked on us often without being intrusive. We did the meat variety and it was so good! We've also visited the Flushing location before and this experience was just as great. Excellent service that made our
dinner even better!“

“This is our go-to sushi place. I spent most of my college years as a server at various sushi restaurants so I'm typically picker about the sushi and sashimi I order and I can attest to the quality and breadth of their selection. Their traditional Japanese appetizers like Hamachi-Kama are excellent as well. The staff are extremely welcoming of our young children (which not all restaurants in NYC are) and know them by name. Needless to say we hope Bushniwa is here for the long haul so we always have our favorite sushi spot!“

“It was a wonderful experience , considering it is my first time. We had to wait a few minutes to get our table for 4 but that’s okay! The employees were super nice and went out of their way to pull and extra table for us. I loved the authentic atmosphere. The lighting, decor, and the overall feeling of the restaurant was great! And amazing food. My family loved what we ordered and the matcha cheesecake for dessert was so good! Compliments to the chef! I could definitely see myself coming back here again, whether alone or with family or friends. Well done, Nippon Cha!“
