“Whenever I had a craving for south indian food in long island, I used to frequent Taste of Chennai, i.e. until I discovered this place Village - The Soul of India. This is by far the best south indian restaurant in long island. Their pani puris are killer. The dosas, idlis chutneys and sambars reminded me of what I had tasted back in India. Everything tasted fresh too. The service was good and prompt. We were lucky to get in right before the dinner rush hour where we saw large groups having to wait for a table.

For those who are not familiar with south indian food: their menu is either completely vegetarian (as in this case) or largely vegetarian and 100's of options to choose from.

This place is a must try!
We got mysore masala dosa, mushroom dosa, idlis, pani puris, chennai thali and masala chai. Everything tasted great!“

“We are true Indian FOODIES!! Our whole family loves Indian food. We have tried every Indian restaurant from Long Island & parts of Florida! Kiran Palace is the Best!!!! I am so happy they have finally brought back their LUNCH BUFFET!!! They did it in such a way that no one else does, they have the buffet table set up & bring out tandoori chicken as well as other dishes FRESH to your table as much as you want so these dishes don’t become dried out or soggy!! ALSO, they change different dishes every day, so we usually go twice a week & it’s always fresh!!! The staff is super friendly & makes us always welcome! They even have their buffet on weekends! They are closed on Tuesday. In case I haven’t said enough, WE LOVE KIRAN PALACE!!!“

“As a former executive chef, and hospitality professional I’ve learned to manage expectations in fast casual restaurants. Well, to my surprise, Burger Village exceeded all expectations . Arriving for a movie 90 minutes early gave us time to find a place to eat. I had reviewed the few options and Burger Villages natural menu seemed like a great choice. We were greeted (by one of the owners) and promptly met with a smiling server. Drinks, yes. Natural coke, iced tea. Then dinner. One turkey burger with sweet potato fries and one specialty burger with their house sauce and my favorite waffle fries. Both arrived hot and the burger juicy. Both cooked exactly as requested. My medium rare was perfect. Unfortunately, I didn’t anticipate the “heat” or spice of the sauce. Pria, the owner asked if everything was okay. This was a good sign. I mentioned the heat and she insisted on remaking the burger without the sauce asap. She said - “I want you to have a great experience “ wow - in all my years of coaching hospitality professionals I rarely saw this level of care and concern flow so organically. Bravo - we ate, we paid, we promised to come back. A perfect example of owners who care, a team to responded to a challenge and a process at work to overcome challenges. 10 out of 10. “Tony, Tony, Tony... Our party of 24 will forever be grateful to you for saving a night out with our family. When I called asking if you could accommodate a large party after plans to go into the city fell apart, you made it happen within a 1/2 hour even though you were super busy with other parties and on a Saturday night before Mother's Day. You welcomed us with open arms and treated us like royalty. You, Sal & your staff made sure we were happy, and we were. The staff is amazing. Patrizia's, as busy as it is all the time, never fails to provide the most delicious and fresh food and in abundance of it. The staff is very attentive and all work well together. “One of my favorite Indian restaurants in the area. Their food is incredible. Love their goa fish curry and goat karahi. Their naan is to die for. Buttery and delicious. Their lunch buffet is also worth trying. Somewhat limited selection, but good enough for me and plenty delicious. Parking is abundant. They also have a full bar. Take out service is also great, the food is always piping hot. Check it out and thank me later :)

“Dinner was amazing! Very flavourful, service was great and the price was reasonable for the service and quality of food. Waiter offered up a different chicken dish than we were originally going to order., the Malai Kabab... it was top shelf, melt in your mouth, marinated chicken at its finest. Traditional Indian food and Thai dishes as well. They sell alcohol, in case there was a doubt. We'd go back anytime!“

“After spending all morning playing games at the next door Round1, this restaurant was a good spot to get a relatively inexpensive and filling meal. Luckily when we visited, they had a promotion for buy one get one 50% off for adult entrees. I also had some reward points saved up which I redeemed for $5 off and a froyo cone. Lunchtime was quite busy but the line moves relatively quickly. They have cute little carts for food trays so there's no awkward game of balance as you try to spot a free table. You can grab your own metal utensils (forks, knives, spoons) and peruse the cold offerings like dessert, sandwiches and salads before getting to the hot food area.

We got an order of classic Swedish meatballs and feeling adventurous also added on an order of their plant-based meatballs (which did not hold a candle against the classic Swedish meatball). IKEA members get a free hot coffee or drink so be sure to grab a white cup for this. Teabags were by the register and hot water was by the hot coffee dispensers. Glass cups are for the soft drinks.

8 meatballs is a good portion for one person (since the dish comes with mashed potatoes, gravy, lingonberry jam and peas). We shared 12 Swedish and 8 plant balls and left absolutely stuffed after clearing both plates. Also sampled a bit of all the soft drinks they had available and I liked sparkling pear and sparkling lemon (reminds me of Sprite...but healthy?) the best. Made myself a milk tea by adding a bit of half-and-half and a packet of sugar to my hot tea.“

“We got 2 pies and thought they tasted great. They’ve definitely improved since last time we got it (2-3 years ago) with a lot more meat on the pizza. Expensive compared to your regular pizza but it’s unique and worth it once in a while.“
