“My friend and I enjoyed our steak and bœuf bourguignon with ample sauce, and Moussa easily allowed us to change the vegetables on the menu to some others that we preferred. As always, we enjoyed our fabulous French food. C'était un repas magnifique! Karina“
“This was a great find! Beautiful gem of a restaurant tucked away in bedstuy. Food recommendations were really appreciated as well as a nice bottle of red wine to pair with our meal. We will definitely come back and highly recommend. Great date spot!“
“The food was amazing. I typically don't get wow'ed by food because I like and eat Flushing and there's a lot of good food everywhere, but I was already planning my second trip here as I was eating dessert here. The people here were also sooooo nice, I don't know why I'm so jaded by humanity, but the kindness blew me away in addition to the food. We had a baby with us and she was getting hungry too; when I tell you the owner (I think she was the owner) dodged and backflipped to get that hot water and cool water to us, I couldn't believe it myself. The sincerity I felt at this place felt almost familial.“
“Got the cauliflower sandwich, the special hot chicken sandwich and the crispy potatoes. They were all really good and delicious. The chicken was crispy (wish it was a tad spicier), the cauliflower sandwich is amazing and my favorite thing from here (as a meat eater), and the crispy potatoes are always just solidly good. The ambiance though was a little chaotic feeling. I felt really claustrophobic in there, as if everyone around me was just a bit too* close together. The table arrangement felt strange. I get wanting to maximize seating but one table was in such a weird tight corner, one by where everyone walked by to the bathroom, and one had a plant where someone would be seated by the window? Also there were several 4-seater tables that just had a single person at them just reading or on their phones with a coffee while groups were waiting. I get that it's seat yourself/first come but it felt really inconsiderate as parties of 3 would awkwardly cram into/sideways into a 2 seater table while that was happening. I wouldn't come back to dine in for sure. But the food is delicious so back to take out exclusively for me.“
“Me and my daughter, enjoyed this restaurant so much during our Mommy and Me weekend! The atmosphere was laid back and quite relaxing. The service was superb and the food was so good, we had to order food to bring home. I would give this establishment 6 stars if I could. We were both very pleased and we will be dining here again very soon. If you have not been here, you should definitely give them a visit. Peace and Love, Chele from the Block.“
“Our family comes here frequently because you can't go wrong with the food, drinks or service. Their mac n'cheese is my kids favorite and it's often hard for my husband and I to decide what to eat because everything is just so, so good.Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating to families“
“Rack of Lamb was tasty, tender and nice presentation . Always a great dish on the regular menu. The Halibut special (almond crusted) was to die for. Shared a delicious coconut and pecan cake with cappuccino and an espresso for dessert. Can't resist the dessert cart.“
“I apologize for not writing this review earlier, but I did have the complete honor and privilege to Dine here this past Sunday, March 3, 2024. From start to finish it was perfect. I am in the Restaurant business and have been for the past 35 years. To be quite honest it is really hard for any establishment to float my boat, especially in this day and age. As Server Jamal was phenomenal, very professional, and understanding. I arrived with a Guest a bit late for a Sunday evening and still was treated like royalty. The Chef even came out to adhere to some requests which I found simply unparalleled. From start to finish it was an epic journey of culinary perfection and straight-out perfect Hospitality. I definitely would recommend Aperitif to anyone who needs a break from the ordinary run-of-the-mill dining experiences. Thank you Jamal and Staff, Michael“
“This very unassuming restaurant, that you can barely see as you are driving by, has some of the best quality food for brunch you could ever want and need. You can tell the one man chef show puts his heart and soul into everything he makes.I had the Nordic Benedict. Let me tell you. The light and fluffiness of the, what I like to call "Love bun" rolls that the, not porched, but fried egg was laying one created an almost spiritual lifting experience. Smoked salmon, to me, tasted like house made gravlax. The perfect blend of seasoning for the Benedict. And the Hollandaise sauce, was golden and perfect. $20I had a bite of the corned beef hash and potatoes, and it was also very tasty. The corned beef was seasoned right and it comes with a fried egg which makes the dish perfect. $20However, the in house homemade French toast was the most interesting and awesome dish I have tasted in a very very long time. The 6 "love buns" on a skewer, were served with maple syrup and this berry compote, that make you want to slap something, was an amazing addition to the dish. $20All of the brunch menu comes with coffee, tea or orange juice. For $20, I will be patronizing this establishment again and again.“
“I’ve been coming here for a couple years now at this point. I’ve celebrated intimate birthdays here. I’ve eaten alone, with others it doesn’t matter. You guys do really great work and it can’t be easy. There’s only a few places where I don’t care what anything costs, Plein Air is that for me. Leaving with my heart and stomach full.“
“All good things...must come to an end. I was a little saddened to find out the previous owners Jean-Luc and Lucette retired already. Our visits to this neighborhood gem are like going to friends' homes for dinner. We are going to really miss their smiles. It is their granddaughter Marie managing the place now. They should be very proud of how she carried on their legacy. On our recent visit, we had soup sampler (French onion soup, carrot soup, potato soup) and oysters as appetizers. All the soups were yummy good and the oysters very fresh. We had the quails and frogs legs as mains. They tasted great and good portions sizes too. My significant other especially liked the zucchini that came with the entrees. We took home our desserts (cheesecake and chocolate truffle cake) and opt for the special strawberry souffle. It is so gooood. The twilight menu also came with salad for less than $40. Specials are extra and our bill came out to around $120 before tax. It is well worth every penny. We also wanted to thank our lady server, too. She was attentive and friendly. Basically has a little "lucette" touch in her. Thank you !!“
“I was excited to find a French menu in my neighborhood. It's my favorite cuisine. Warmly greeted by a polite well spoken young lady and given my choice of tables. ( As opposed to following someone to where they wanted me to sit) Looking at the menu it had all my favorite items. The bottle of champagne I ordered was misspelled but when I pointed it out to the waiter he was appreciative. I ordered Bone Marrow Escargots(which impressed me having not seen that before) which were delicious. Followed by Mussels in a Coconut Cilantro broth. While the quality of the actual mussels was sub-par the broth they were served in was the best I have had since I started eating mussels 40 years ago! Lastly I ordered the Breast of Duck(probably one of my favorite things on the planet) Which I was unable to enjoy. My waiter left his shift and the order in which I wanted my dinner was affected. Escargot, Mussels, Duck. The duck came before the mussels so I sent it back and waited for the mussels. After the mussels I was brought what I believe to be the original Duck which was now very tough and dried out, I did not eat it. For me that was a deal breaker. I am very well aware that mistakes are made and I suppose I could have eaten the duck when it came out of order but that isn't the way I wanted it. Not being my mistake, I believe the chef should've taken extra care to deliver a moist tender delicious duck in the order which it was ordered. Unfortunate. It was 5 Stars to me before that lack of attention to the guest.“
“This was my second time that I've been to this restaurant. The first time was years ago, so I don't remember it too well. The second time was during restaurant week. I did the prefixed menu where you get an appetizer, entree, and a dessert for $35. I got mussels in white wine sauce with garlic, shallot, and parsley as an appetizer, shrimp scampi with linguini pasta as an entree, and key lime pie (with a lot of whipped cream) as my dessert. They didn't have the dessert that I wanted, so the key lime pie was the substitute. Everything was prepared in a timely manner, and it all tasted great. The servers were very attentive and were prepared to take on any and all requests. The place itself had plenty of seating, and it was a Saturday night. Reservations aren't necessary.“
“Amazing ambiance and staff... I've visited a bunch of times, and everything from Bertrand and Mominette is so delicious!!!! Just writing this, I wish I could taste it right now! Hope to keep getting to enjoy their flavors!Definitely go for the rack of lamb :) And the creme brûlée for dessert is ahhh-mazing!Kid-friendliness: Staff is so sweet with kids and great options for them“
“For an airport? This was amazing. Definitely expensive but it's worth it in my opinion. Had the chicken Parm sandiwch, fries and a pepsi, tho you can get tap water for free. With tip and taxes it was 40$. But to get mediocre airport food, Id rather pay extra and get good food.“
