“Fresh and high quality ingredients, friendly staff, pleasant Italian vibe. Roast beef tastes like raw meat (rare steak) and no seasoning. I'm used to Italian roast beef melting in my mouth and exploding flavors of seasoning and meat umami. Beef was like room temperature and cold cheese side to it wasn't pleasant. Thin breaded eggplant sounds like a good idea but in practice it was soggy. What's the point of breading and frying it if it's not crunchy? Also you could taste the bitterness of the eggplant which hints it wasn't soaked in saltwater. With this single experience I'd say the restaurant is overrated.“

“Recently I watched an episode of “Comedian in Cars Drinking Coffee” with Jerry Seinfeld and Sabastain M. On this particular episode they went to Faicco’s Itailian deli. They talked about how good the sandwich was. Since we were heading to NY from Chicago, thought this would be a great place to stop . Let’s just say it didn’t disappoint. We had the Italian sandwich - it was so amazing. People should put this on their list to visit when coming to NY.“

They know what they're doing and what they're talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is stunning!! Some italian classics and some twists, amazing wines and for their prices it's 100% worth it. “This is a small place I drove right by it. I got the NY Classic bagel. It was delicious this definitely has a unique flavor with the thick tomatoes and the pickled shallots. The everything bagel has pepper flakes on it which is unique also. The people in there are nice they let me sample their tahini/coffee slushy which I was not a fan of. But the bagel sandwiches are definitely worth getting.“

“Discovered this cute spot while on my lunch break, and I walked in and automatically fell in love. It immediately took me back to living in Europe. The authenticity, the freshness of the sandwich, the espresso… everything was so lekker.

The owner happened to be training a new employee while I was there and was super helpful with the menu. He was also shocked by the little Dutch I knew 😂 We ended up kiki-ing about how great the Netherlands and Belgium are, which honestly made the whole experience even better.

It was such a highlight of my day! I STILL dream about the sandwich with the truffle butter.

Small place but seriously mighty. No fluff, no gimmicks, just unreal, farm-to-table food done right.

The meatball sandwich? I think about it daily. Perfectly seasoned, rich, and messy in the best way. The kind of sandwich you don’t forget. And the Burrata sandwich was just as incredible, packed with flavor and made with so much care you can taste it in every bite.

You can tell the ingredients are fresh and thoughtfully sourced. It makes a difference.

“Excellent community space in LIC! Accessible by ferry and a short walk from the nearest train. Tons of live, free music outside on the weekends (super family-friendly as a bonus) and on Friday nights in the gallery. There’s always interesting art to check out as well as events all year round. They also sell beer, snacks and other light refreshment. Honestly, this place is a treasure. Go check it out and support the local arts and music community!“

“I read the service loan not because the service staff was an issue, but I am sick and tired of being penalized for using cash. I didn’t realize I went to the counter. I made my order selected everything and then I was told if I need to pay cash. I need to go to a kiosk. Annoying because now I have to go through all these menus to figure out what I just ordered feed cash into machine wait for that to come out. Totally unnecessary step and unfortunately something that would make me not want to stop here because they added a layer of complexity. It wasn’t necessary. Now I’m sure by the tone of my review that you could probably tell how old I am but that’s fine by me. I like walking into an establishment explaining what I want paying cash and walking out. It’s that simple but yet this isn’t. That being said, the food is fabulous so if the kiosk doesn’t bother you and you never pay cash then so be it.“

The Sesame Bread was fresh and it felt like was in the 1920s , in there. Old school brooklyn feel. The staff are super friendly and make a killer espresso. Tell them Camilo sent you!! Make sure to get a Hals potato chips with your sandwich!“

“Cute spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. The sandwiches are good but I wish they came with some chips or a side for the price - they also take ~20 mins to make so be prepared to wait. But both sandwiches (Chicky and Dill Party) were very good with lots of fillings and sauce and flavor. A solid option for lunch as the name suggests!“

“I do not live in NYC, but I was trying to find someone who could provide food for my daughter's baby shower in the city. After researching a few options online, I contacted The Picnic Basket. I am so glad I did. The shower was to be in Central Park on a Saturday, and I was concerned about getting everything there safely and reasonably easily. As The Picnic Basket is closed on Saturday, I knew we'd need it Friday as late as possible.
They were so helpful, providing suggestions and a menu online with a lot of great options. I was able to order enough food for a party of 20 at a reasonable price. When my son-in-law arrived to pick it up, it was exceptionally well-packed and labeled. It all fit in their small apartment fridge, and we were able to get everything to the shower easily. Everyone absolutely loved the sandwich variety as well as the large kale salad. Everything was excellent and we were able to easily re-pack the leftovers for later. Great food, great service, great communication and budget-friendly. Would not hesitate to use them again! Thanks, Picnic Basket!“
