“Great new spot for a solid A+ burger. The burger was outstanding super juicy, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients.

The surprise favorite for me was the cucumber salad. It was incredibly fresh, light, and refreshing; the perfect balance to the richness of the burger.

And the mozzarella sticks? Incredible. Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and served piping hot. Easily some of the best I’ve had.

Great food, great service, and a place I’ll definitely be coming back to. Highly recommend! 🍔🥒🧀

“Great place if you like music from the 70s 80s. Fun crowd, staff was attentive and cool. Two small things: Music volume is high. It would be great if the volume was a bit lower for example near the entrance, so that you can move there and talk. The drinks were a bit weak. A Negroni should be a strong aperitif. But prices are lower than in other places, so I guess it's OK. A very fun night overall!“

I'm pretty sure the Brad Lander for Mayor social event got cancelled today (5/30/25); these things have small turnout, & maybe don't add much to the discussion. I came here anyway to have a refreshing beer in honor of a candidate whose ideas 💡, career, & intestinal fortitude seem to be quite refreshing in American politics. I've definitely never been in this fine bar 🍻 before, & I can't remember the last time I walked on this block. I still think you should rank Lander first 🥇🏆 in the upcoming NYC mayoral primary election (June 24, 2025).“

I have sampled a wide variety of menu items and highly recommend the steak, although many other dishes are equally impressive.“

From the moment we arrived, Chelsea greeted us all with a friendly smile, the service she provided was first class. Even when the bar got extremely busy, Chelsea never got flustered and showed total dedication and commitment to her duties and treated everyone to the same high standard of service whether it was for a group of people who were ordering 10 cocktails or to others ordering food Chelsea was excellent and on point! How Chelsea kept up her sense of humour, enthusiasm and energy levels is beyond my belief. Especially after the bar was packed from people whom left Seal's concert at the Beacon theater to grab drinks and a bite to eat. Although we saw other waiters throughout the night, she stood out. Chelsea truly is a credit to your bar grill establishment. She fully epitomises what 5 star service is all about! “Max is the best bartender at the best bar in the East Village.
There are games behind the counter, for example, chess, backgammon, Yahtzee, etc.
A billiards table near the back always has competition. Many people battle to be the king of the table until closing.
The early weekdays are quieter than the large crowds on Thursday-Saturday.
The summer heat won't get you in the well air conditioned bar.
Also, Max plays good music.“

“Lively sports bar with good service and polite staff. The prices are affordable, making it a great spot to hang out. They also have a speakeasy downstairs, where I attended a private event. It’s a pretty cool space with an exposed original brick ceiling, adding to the charm.

I get that it's a neighborhood spot, and everyone knows each other, but if it's a restaurant, treat it like one. If it's a lounge, change it to a lounge and not a restaurant.“
