“The Dead Poet Bar on the Upper West Side is a cozy, literary-themed spot with a great atmosphere. The dark wood, bookish quotes on the walls, and dim lighting create an inviting space perfect for casual drinks. Their cocktail menu, especially the namesake "Dead Poet" with Jameson and ginger ale, is creative and affordable for Manhattan.
Though small and often crowded, especially on weekends, the laid-back vibe and friendly bartenders make it worth a visit. Whether you're a literary fan or just looking for a great neighborhood bar, The Dead Poet is a gem you'll want to return to.“

“Being in a train station (and a very busy train station) one would not expect a great bar experience - well atleast I wasn’t but I was wrong. A colleague and I were in NYC for a board meeting, and it wrapped up early. She said let’s stop at Irish Exit for a drink and well we did. Once you walk out the “station”, it’s like walking into a true Irish bar (albeit busier). Amazing selection of beer, wine and the hard stuff. Good service, free Wi-Fi and most things can be done via QR code. Will definitely visit next time I’m at Penn.“

“Looking for an old-school midtown Manhattan bar with martinis, beer, and friendly staff? P.J. Carney’s Pub is the real deal. I’ve stopped in wearing professional clothes after client meetings and also in dance gear after class… either way, it’s relaxed and welcoming. So few bars in Midtown feel this easy. The wings are great, the drinks are strong, and the vibe is no-nonsense. In a city full of overpriced hype, this hidden gem near the N/W subway line stands out as one of the best neighborhood bars in Manhattan.“

“Had the most incredible experience with James and his team. We wanted to have a going away party and after reaching out to numerous places with hefty minimums we decided to stop by and ask James if we could host it at Phil Hughes. He was super accommodating and reserved a whole area for us. He was attentive all night and made sure everyone was taken care of. We love this bar and highly recommend them for either hosting an event as well as just enjoying a good Guinness while watching a sports game. Lovely atmosphere and vibe too!“

“This victorian inspired restaurant was very pleasant to the eyes. It really looks like you’re stepping back in time. I hear they offer an afternoon tea. I would like to come back and try that someday but we were here for dinner and it was wonderful. We had the lobster ravioli, and the steak and frites. Everyone we came in contact with was attentive and pleasant. They also have a full bar so I imagine they have a great cocktail hour or so.“

“Great local Irish bar. I was staying a week at a nearby hotel and this place had the exact Irish bar feel I needed. I instantly felt like a regular they were glad to see, coming and going. Proper for an Irish place. Good pours on the beers. I was here for the first 2016 Presidential Debates and there was a lot of opinions, but in true NYC style, nobody got bent, no matter how much of a (&%$g idiot the other person was.“

“As a frequent patron of The Joyce, I have hosted numerous events at this bar over the years. The staff consistently provides exceptional service, and the culinary offerings are outstanding. I have sampled a wide variety of menu items and highly recommend the steak, although many other dishes are equally impressive.“

“I have very fond memories here, it was like a little home from home for me while I was bi Atlantic for 6 years, working on the same block as the Pig There are lots of “Irish pubs” in the vicinity, although this is the only one that felt like a real pub in the UK rather than a novelty in New York Hopefully I will be back again one day! Thanks for great times when I was missing home 🇬🇧 xxx“
“My favorite place to go for a drink. Bartender Kathleen is a great hostess and I have made many friends with people who go there because of her excellent service and personality on Thursday through Sunday. Kevin is the bartender who works Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. He and I are NY Jets fans so always have lots to talk about. Paddy, the owner and his assistant, Sergio redecorate the bar several times a year with beautiful decorations. They do not serve food but it is okay to bring in your own refreshments.“

“Had a wonderful pre-theater dinner here last night. The restaurant has a very cool, comfortable vibe. Our waiter Liam provided exceptional, attentive service. And the food - can't say enough about the shepherds pie. Savory and satisfying, especially on one of the first brisk fall days in the city. We will be back and you should try it too!“

“Great experience!!! I been here a year or so and never forgot the great service I received before from Niall! Walked in today and there he was in a great mood even tho his football team didn't make the playoffs (Seahawks) like my squad the damn Giants! But great and convenient spot to check out. A pool table is available too; that's what got me before. Glad I stopped through and my Irish brother was there! I don't think they serve food here but the atmosphere is great and chill.“

“It was late on a Friday night when I came here. At this point it goes from a simple bar into more of a dance hall. The place was a bit crowded but I found a small corner to get some beers and hang out. It's fairly close to the subway station.“

“Always promised myself on my next trip to NYC I would go to The Dead Rabbit. I am so pleased I got to do it. The staff the cocktails the food and the decor & cleanliness were A1. Loved the welcome my friend and I got, (even when we were a bit late for our booking) throughout the service from the fabulous servers. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Bloody brilliant 👏“
