“Everything was great! It wasn't too loud, we got got our food pretty fast. The short ribs were melt in your mouth amazing, and the hot honey carrots were excellent. I also really enjoyed the brandy sauce that came with the new york strip.“
“We have spent several evenings and brunches at Hudson Hound, we love it! Jason and his team are nothing short of experts in the client experience. We also have hosted 2 parties there, one was a child's birthday party and the other was a Saturday evening adult birthday party. Both were executed flawlessly leaving our guests with a wonderful experience and memories! I can't recommend them highly enough. Jen, their event coordinator, was not only extremely attentive to our requests and inquiries but a great partner planning both events!“
“This location of Dorrian's Red Hand is a great spot to get bar food. The bar area looked nice and plenty of seating it seemed. I did not sit in the restaurant to enjoy my food. I did take out instead. I got a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. I was pleasantly surprised on how good this sandwhich was. My waitress who took my order was nice. It also looks like this location has comedy shows. There is a private room I saw with posters up of the upcoming shows.“
“Really cool pub in the financial district, beloved by those who work and live there. We were there for a work gathering of 100 ppl, and we had run of the place. Servers were amazing, and our food (sliders and tiny shepherds pies) and beverages (bar service) were on-point.“
“What a great place and so glad we found it just a couple of minutes walk from our hotel. We visited every day during our trip and served the best Guinness in NYC. We had food most days which was tasty and they still served food late. It was my first visit to NYC and the staff were a great help and all had time for a chat. Definitely worth a visit, you won’t regret it.“
“I came here the Friday before St. Patrick's day and was not disappointed. They had live music on a small stage with a large crowd singing along to Irish folk tunes. The atmosphere was lively and reminded me a lot of Dublin pubs. The service was a bit slow, as there were too many patrons and too few bartenders. If they could improve that ratio, this place would be a fantastic place.“
“Very cozy place .Staff was very friendly and attentive .Had the burger with onion , sautéed mushrooms . The add on’s were soo good .The burger was very simple otherwise . Felt like there could have been more fat to give it more flavor . Deff have had a better burger in my life before . But truly I enjoyed the simplicity of it . I would happily come back .It really is a very comfortable atmosphere .“
“My friends and I kicked off our bar crawl with scones from Mary O's - literally could not recommend enough. We all left saying we couldn't wait to come back next time for more scones! We were all expecting them to be good but after having them, no words could do them justice. They were fresh out of the oven and topped with some delicious butter and jam.Mary was super nice and welcoming towards our group. I can't wait to go back. I'll also definitely be ordering scones online because I'm sure they'll make a great gift for anyone who doesn't live in New York!“
“Immediately I knew this place was special. The ties to NYC and 9/11 run deep. I had a tuna melt which was open faced, and my husband had the Reuben. No pics because we ate everything before considering pictures. You will not be disappointed here. The service was great and the ambiance is special. If I'm ever in NYC again, I'll be back.“
“Great place for beer and food. The bartenders are always so friendly and welcoming. Anything on their food menu is solid but we go there for the fried chicken sandwich, can't beat it. They have a nice selection of beer but we go for the Kilkenny because this is the only place so far we have found in the city that serves it.“
“Great atmosphere, fantastic service, and delicious food at PJ Carney's Pub! The staff is always friendly and attentive, making sure your experience is top-notch. Whether you're looking for a casual drink or a hearty meal, this pub has it all. Highly recommend stopping by for a memorable night out“
“This is one of my favorite restaurants on the Upper West Side. Many great menu items, but my favorite is their chicken pot pie (see pic). I also often order the bruschetta - it’s always prepared perfectly. The ambiance of an Irish pub is full of character. The food, the drinks, and the service here is consistently excellent.“
“This is the best spot in Brooklyn! The drinks are amazing, The Guinness is fantastic, unbelievable that it tastes so good, reminds me very much of my years in Donegal! The staff are friendly and funny!!! The food is so good, I’m hungry thinking about right now. I’ve had amazing dates with my fella and great nights out with the girls! Love this place❤️“
“We came down to watch the game and were welcomed and had a great morning. We did not have any food but what we saw looked good, the beer was delicious and the service excellent though. A great place to visit if you want an LFC game while in New York.“
“I'm giving Malone's five stars. I absolutely loved it. First of all, the service was fantastic! I mean our server was professional, friendly, and just lovely. I came here for the weekend brunch, and I like that they also offered non-brunch items. I have never like eating waffles or eggs in the afternoon. I ended up getting Buffalo chicken wings. I love wings and I can say these were amongst the best wings I have had. They were just crispy and delicious. And the fries were yummy too.“
“Great food, great beer, great vibes, great prices. Went with a group of 12 and had a blast. The fish and chips were light and delicate yet incredibly crispy. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well. Huge beer selection at eight dollars a pint, great value and amazing staff.“
“This place was AMAZING. We had the mussels, burrata salad, pork chops, and salmon. Every single item was absolutely delicious. The ambiance was calm and quiet in comparison to a lot of other places. We spent about 2 hours here and enjoyed every minute. The only reason I would give it 4 stars not 5 is because we went 30 ish minutes without someone checking on us and had to wave down an employee for drinks and our check. Other than that the staff was super nice! Love the feel of this place!“
“Good local bar. I wouldn't travel far to come here, but my friend lives down the block on 40th and this is my favorite spot in the area. Good prices, got just what you need. People are always cool around here. Saw a fight once outside. Pool tables you can play. Bathroom is far away downstairs. I come here whenever I'm in the neighborhood!“
“We happened upon this delightful spot after touring the Intrepid. We were hungry for good food and were not disappointed. I had a Franziskaner draft and a cheeseburger, while cooked to well, when I asked for medium, it was well seasoned and had a good flavor on a nice hard roll. My wife had the grilled chicken wrap, I ate 1/2 of it and really liked it. It was a nice balance of pesto and mozzarella to chicken. The side salad wase nicely dressed. This was a seriously nice find, it was charming to walk into one of the oldest continually run bars in NYC and find great draft beer and food at an affordable for NYC price. The service was outstanding as well.“
“Great Irish pub with friendly staff and delicious food. They pay attention to the details like matching the branded glasses with the right beers. Service was very quick even though it was wall to wall busy since it’s a popular place. If you’re lucky you’ll get to meet Maggie herself!“
“The perfect pub if you are in the desperate need of a quick pint. It's the definition of "fast drink" instead of "fast food" because sadly this place is lacking of food or at least snacks but I think it's the concept of this place to only serve drinks and I have to say they are doing that on the best level.“
“Completely unexpected! Many years ago stepped in unknowingly of their history and was greeted by Jimmy and you felt known even though it was my first visit. Sat at bar and staff was so attentive. Food was incredible! Second visit… was like how I imagine walking into to “Cheers” would have been. Everyone remembered even though months went by! A rare gem in NYC and worth a visit for the amazing food, warm and meaningful hospitality and connections! Became a regular and will always be a stop after leaving NYC on my visits !“
“We loveee the dead poet - so cute and intimate. Fun for a date night, week night drink, after bar drinks whatever you name it! It's a pretty chill vibe and a tiny space so not much room to stand but we love it here as a late night spot“
“O'Hanlon's is pub meets basement rec room meets one of the oddest cuts of locals you'll find in Manhattan. Probably best known for its soccer showing which draws in weekend crowds, you might be surprised to learn it also opens at 9am, apparently to cater to night shift workers like those at the firehouse across the street. Because of that, I can never quite tell if O'Hanlon's is weathering bumpy times (it isn't always the cleanest and sometimes is low on stock) or if that's simply the reality of being open nearly 24-hours a day. Either way, that weirdness and its rougher edges do lend it an odd kind of charm that's hard to replicate, which is made all the more charming by great staff who are often more than happy to chat when it's not crazy busy.Edit: In response to the reply from the owners, for me it'd be 5 stars probably if there was a bit more stock of bottles on the back bar. For bourbon for example, these days I don't see much besides Maker's but I remember there used to be a bit more variety? But if the strategy is to keep a simpler inventory, that's totally fair! Just have been surprised since it's a large bar“
“An honest Irish pub that pours a great pint, has lots of young people at night and keeps you occupied with TVs and a huge number of tchotchzkes that remind you this place dates back to the '30's. Oh, the music playing over their system on Friday night was just right for my crowd. If you're looking for a comfortable place to have a drink, this won't disappoint. If you're looking for an upscale bar...well why are you in Newark?“
“Cool bar. It's in an area of the city that surrounded by tons of other bars but there aren't many other Irish pubs so this one stands out. Great drinks and fun atmosphere. It was my first time there and it was St. Patty's Day so it was pretty wild and energetic in there. I liked it.“
“Stopped in for a couple of drinks while headed to the subway, super glad I did! The bartender was amazing and went out of his way to take care of us. Clean and comfortable traditional Irish pub with plenty of TVs to catch the game. Highly recommend.“
“Me and my boyfriend stopped in to get a drink on Sunday afternoon and Ro was amazing as soon as we walked through the door. She was attentive the whole time and we loved talking to her. Great drinks, great service. I’m from Stony Point, NY and I can’t wait to come back to see the live music.“
“Dalton's Bar & Grill is a cozy spot with comfortable seating that invites you to relax and enjoy a great meal. The food is truly amazing, and the beer is always fresh, making it a perfect place to unwind. Their Onion Soup is a standout dish that will leave a lasting impression. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a place to catch up with friends, Dalton's Bar & Grill is sure to please.“
“We are never disappointed when we stop here when we visit NYC. Atmosphere and food is always fantastic and they make killer Manhattans. We just went for the 2023 Rockefeller tree and the staff was pleasant and accommodating. so happy they were decorated for the holidays. 100% go to in our opinion.“
“Had the paper plane cocktail and the crispy fish tacos. Pretty standard, but I have a bias for fish tacos, so standard fish tacos are 4 ⭐ by default in my book. Minor knock is that the slaw, mayo, and relish together were a little strong and kind of overwhelmed the fish. Why is it so dark? I get it, but I also don't get it ? low light has its merits, but this was super dark ? (the camera make the photos/videos look brighter than the lighting in reality)“
“We were staying in the area and ended up having dinner twice in this pub. 4 stars is average between these two visits. I’d rate one 5 stars but the other 2-3. It seems one of those places where you need to know what to order, even though menu is reasonably short.I do not recommend ordering salmon, which was a small piece of fish on a big pile of spinach. Also the Shepherds pie rendition I was served was the weirdest one (and least good) I’ve ever tried. It was a very thin layer of mediocre beef with 3 pieces of carrots, covered in a pool of gravy with mashed potatoes piped around the perimeter of the plate. In the gravy pool, there were swimming some peas that tasted like they were hastily defrosted before serving. It was under-seasoned and the large pieces of bay leave I had to fish out of the gravy pool were just the proverbial cherry on top.We came back only because the kid liked his burger, it was raining and it was the only restaurant in the area without deafening music. I’m glad we did though because I ordered fish and chips and somehow it was actually fantastic. Granted, “chips” were regular fries but fish was plump, succulent pieces of cod meat with perfectly crisp breading. Tiny portion of cole slaw was also good. Vegetarian burgers are frequently an afterthought at places like this but it was pretty good.Beer on tap was OK, there isn’t a large selection. Got a mixed cocktail in happy hour, don’t recommend it as it was mostly ice in a small glass.Nothing special to say about service. On the first visit, we were left to our own devices until we asked for a check and on the next visit, the waiter stopped by to ask if everything was ok. Beware of credit card fee, we were able to pay with debit card to avoid it. It does leave unpleasant aftertaste though, feels like being bamboozled. Just roll it into your cost, for cripes sake.“
“Delicious food once again. Chicken wrap was lightly toasted and stuffed. Took home half. Others in our party had Caesar salad w/grilled chicken. Very generous portion. And, turkey burger so thick and juicy it required both hands to manage. Recommend Doc Watson’s for food and service.“
“Many years ago when it was known as Ryan’s bar my dad was always there. I remember it well. He would take me there often as a youngster and I’d sit at a table and have a coke and bite to eat. It was there this li girl learned how to speak Brooklynese and play shuffleboard table. The original owner was a nice man. My dad Artie still frequented the place as he got older. I know the last time he was there was about 7 or 8 years ago. He was there so much that as a child I had the phone number memorized as a kid. I was on li and if I wanted my dad I’d call him there. It was just a hangout for many in the community like the pubs are in much of Europe especially Britain and Ireland. My dad hated and I mean hated to leave Brooklyn and wanted to buy a home in east 8th but I was sent to li. But you couldn’t take the boy out of the city. He always found ways to stay in Flatbush. Hence me knowing the number by heart. My mom being also from Flatbush and for many years not driving felt the same so she let him be. I miss that place and saw some of the photos and they immediately brought back happy memories. Especially of those of st paddy’s day. Now I’m in Florida. In the country. I mean real country. No Miami etc. cows and horses all over. Acres of property. Never in a million years I’d dream of leaving ny and especially nyc. The insanity made me look at life for my child and make a most agonizing decision. Sadly she will never know the joy of going with her papa and sitting on a barstool and having a coke and a bag of chips or having some corned beef and cabbage on st paddy’s day at Ryan’s/shenanigans. And just hanging with her grandpa and we will include her dad as well. It’s something this country forgot. Just time with your dad. Just being with them. God bless you all in ny and may Jesus protect you!“
“We came with a group to celebrate a great friends promotion…which was also a surprise wedding proposal for her. Marc was extremely accommodating and Kristina, who was our server as well as the manager was beyond amazing. She was on point and went well beyond to make our experience awesome…all while handling another large group. I cannot express enough how thankful we are and what a great experience we had! Thank you Blackjacks!!!“
“We’re over from Ireland (for paddy’s weekend), staying in Chelsea, and after a long flight we stopped by for some burgers and a few scoops… and we were very surprised by how good the Guinness js and the burgers are just as nice. Great value for money and lovely staff… deffo stop by and check it out.“
“Loved visiting this place with a friend for brunch! The food was great for the price and it has such a cozy vibe. The drinks are a good price as well during brunch and I would love to come back again alone or with friends. It’s small and the seating is a bit tight but it’s a good place to hang out. Definitely give it a try if you are in the area! The brunch burger was delicious and cooked how I like it but the main star for me were the truffle fries.“
“Delicious food & wonderful service. Came here for a small birthday celebration on a weekend & really appreciated that they didn’t rush us out at all. The staff let us enjoy our long lunch & girls catch up. Much appreciated, with so many places in the city in a rush mode with customers.“
“Not been here so comment on the food, service and atmosphere but as I am a big Liverpool FC supporter and planning on visiting New York City in December I will have to try and visit here because by then we will be back in the Chanpions League and hopefully doing well in the the league by then. I decided to already give 5 stars for atmosphere because with Liverpool supporters it certainly would be great. YNWA“
“I visited this bar on a weekend night for a pint. The place has a strong pub atmosphere, with exposed wood and Irish signage. There was a person doing live music in the corner who was great. The bartenders were attentive and quick to serve. Overall I had a great time here.“
“If you want to end your night after experiencing times square, this is the place. Just a minute walk. This pub is lit. Made some good friends and the live music makes you go round twoParking: Parking anywhere in NYC is difficult. Plan ahead or wait to get lucky finding a spot“
“Great local Irish bar. I was staying a week at a nearby hotel and this place had the exact Irish bar feel I needed. I instantly felt like a regular they were glad to see, coming and going. Proper for an Irish place. Good pours on the beers. I was here for the first 2016 Presidential Debates and there was a lot of opinions, but in true NYC style, nobody got bent, no matter how much of a (&%$g idiot the other person was.“
“Best pint of Guinness in Brooklyn! The bartender Paddy (not the same one on the awning) is friendly and remembered my wife's order, she having only been there one other time before. The second Wednesday of every month is the Conradh na Gaeilge session, so if you've got some Irish or like trad tunes, or both, bígí linn (join us) for some good craic!“
“An absolute gem of an Irish pub! From the warm, inviting atmosphere to the delightful fusion menu, every visit here is a treat. The spaghetti and salmon dish is a revelation - perfectly cooked pasta paired with succulent salmon, topped with a flavorful sauce that keeps me coming back for more. Barbecue chicken. The friendly staff always make me feel like family, and the selection of drinks is top-notch. Whether you're craving classic Irish fare or something a bit different like this amazing pasta dish, this pub delivers excellence every time. A must-visit for anyone in search of great food, great drinks!“
“Terrific Irish pub. My colleagues and I stopped by after a late night project. They have 22 beers. Lots of other drinks. Food was standard fare but very good. Generous portions. You have to get up and look around the pub. The ceiling above the bar, the statuary and the stained glass were just a few of the neat items at the Wicked Monk. Our waitress and the bus boys were awesome!“
“M J Smith's is a hidden gem in New York. It's got a very Irish pubby feel with alcohol that doesnt break your bank. The wait staff is professional and friendly. The wait time is quick and the alcohol is tasty. They have a wide variety to boot and there's a lot of space. Price is better than most of the inner city.A must see in New York.Vegetarian options: All dishes can either be substituted or changes for your convenience.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, vegan, vegetarian options exsist. Along with Keto.Wheelchair accessibility: Both the front door and bathroom are wheelchair accessible.“
“The most important bar of the neighborhood (and beyond really). Always open when all the other ones have closed way too early, great atmosphere, mixed audience. A great hang to chat with friends, talk to strangers at the bar or simply sit by yourself and decompress.“
“Pretty standard Pub, which isn't a chop but praise. Who doesn't love a good Irish/English pub? Decor is great, bathrooms are clean, drinks are plenty. The Barbacoa Tacos were acceptable, the soft taco shells were tasteless, dry, and fell apart. The meat was delicious though. This location is close to GCT which is awesome.“
“Why would yelp say Leif is closed? Shows youre as useless as teats on a bull yelp. Great bar, amazing bands like the Electrics, Hellor High Water, Bill Kirchen, Panama Dead, Headin South, Rock Farm, Mike Falsarano....This is South Brooklyns best music bar, with a large backroom and outdoir area attached. Closed my Irish butt.“
“First time coming here but the service and the vibes were very fun. The place has a lot of room for tables which is nice when coming with a large party of people. Bartenders catered to our needs and made our experience very memorable. Will definitely come here whenever we visit the “
