“On the advice of a friend who regularly visits Fire Island, our family of eight, including a four-year-old and an infant, had an amazing dinner experience at Albatross tonight. I was somewhat apprehensive because the restaurant's Google rating was lower than that of another restaurant where we had had a disappointing lunch the first day of our stay. So I wanted to write my five-star review as soon as possible.

Our positive experience began when we dropped by during the afternoon to get the hostess's advice on how to procure a table for eight people -- without a reservation! -- on a busy Saturday night. She told us that if we came before 6:00 they would probably be able to accommodate us.

This is exactly what happened. When we arrived we were immediately seated at a comfortable table near the window. The attentive waitstaff quickly took our drink orders and, shortly thereafter, our meal orders.

I was worried that our small children might become difficult while we ate two courses (starters and a main course). However, our server brought our starters quickly, and the main course soon after clearing our dishes from the first course. The timing was perfect!

The food was perfect, too. I enjoyed my New England clam chowder, one of the best versions I've tasted. The table shared top-notch oysters, steamers, fried calamari, and Buffalo wings. Our mains, which included grilled fish, linguine with white clam sauce, and penne with vodka source and grilled shrimp, were uniformly excellent, with quality ingredients and preparation. For example, the grilled broccoli that accompanied my barramundi was so flavorful that it transcended the norm for this standard vegetable.

With our meal we enjoyed a bottle of white wine at a fair price.

This review may sound too favorable to be true, but it accurately describes our experience. I recommend Albatross wholeheartedly.“

“This gem is a stones throw from the Ocean Beach ferry. My friends and I make sure we visit here anytime when we're looking to people watch, catch a game, or waiting to board. They have all the settings needed to enjoy your stay on FI. Staff is very attentive. I think it was the manager, Darren, made sure to check on us. We recently had with the Cubano and the Baja shrimp tacos. It was a tasty and proportionate.“

“I became a regular diner to Riley’s a couple of years ago. Gotta tell ya, the food is as good as any high restaurant I eat at and I dine out a lot. Fun, delicious, quality menu that has never once disappointed on any item, ever. Yes it is mostly basic pub food but so are 50% of the restaurants on Long Island now and Fibbers is perfect and priced more than fair. Can’t remember the servers but the two ladies are always right there, refills on drinks, food on time and always with a smile regardless how busy they are. Come back soon guys! I wrote and email expressing my concern , which they responded quickly and tried connecting on the phone but they dropped the ball and did not respond to my follow up call nor my follow up email week has gone by. It’s nice in there I would’ve considered returning.

Tim, the manager called again and we had a nice conversation that I much appreciated. Offered gift card which was very kind. Sometimes things happen, if I business is willing to make it right and show humility it’s a good business. I’ve updated this review in high hope of returning and having a good experience and updating to 5 stars!“

“Yesterday I had my daughter’s bridal shower at the Lakehouse. The event coordinator, Annalisa was a pleasure to work with. ALL of my guests raved about the food, service and atmosphere. Some of the men stayed and Annalisa set them up outside on the deck for lunch instead of inside the bar since it was a beautiful day. She also suggested having dessert served outside which could not have been better. My guests enjoyed the beautiful view and all of the outdoor seating. I would highly recommend having an event here.“

Way better then friendlys for the same price and bout the same as fridays for half the price.
Our waiter Jesse (male not sure if i spelled their name right sorry ) is so nice, understanding and just cool as heck he tried multiple times to get us our free app but the code wasnt working and thats ok i was full off the apps. If yall really want it you can ask to speak with the manager but i was honestly good . (Save it for next time if we get entrees.)

“My Husband and I stumble across this place tonight and couldn’t be happier about it! From the moment we walked through the door on a busy Saturday night at 7:00pm we walk in simply based on a great name! The hostess Deanna was lovely and welcoming we were able to sit right away! The food was absolutely amazing and so were the drinks!! But the star of the show was the staff our waitress Emily was the best we have ever had! Just the right amount of attentive that we never looked for her and always felt taking care up. The busser also did an amazing job never a dirty plate on our table. We go out alot and I can’t remember the last time a restaurant covered it all flawlessly Service drinks and food. We have already texted friend excited to bring them here! “My 9 year old had decompression and a duraplasty surgery at the beginning of the month. When we were discharged from PEDS ICU, claws was the first meal he requested. We absolutely love the lobster bisque. The lobsters rolls are so chunky and delicious. The crab cakes are divine. Now I’m starving. Thanks. lol“
