“I had eaten halal Bukhari Uzbek food many times before, but if you are hosting strict kosher keepers in Queens who were bored of the typical pizza or grill joints, this was a must try for out of town guests.
I introduced my friends to many different Samsa (average), Plov (excellent, but only one recipe), Manti (average, real Georgian places are better), and IL salad (excellent, better than some Mediterranean places), everything was fresh and nothing disappointed.
I just wish they had changed the name 6 years ago after they started closing every Saturday, as C.S.S. is quite the mouthful to remember while gossiping about good places to try. they have about a dozen seats inside and another dozen on a sidewalk shed with quiet low foot traffic. for VHQ adherents, this is a must try, then try again and again until you've sampled the entire menu.“

“If you are a fan of Seinfeld and/or Soup, this is a must go NYC treasure! It was seriously on my bucket list and was everything I had hoped it would be and more! It was SO delicious, fresh, savory, filling and just enough flavor. I had to try the Lobster Bisque and my friend loved the Jambalaya. Both were so YUM!! We extra fan-girled out and watched the Soup N*zi episode of Seinfeld while we enjoyed our meals. It is definitely hearty enough soup to fill you up and still feel like exploring the city and/or Central Park which is right around the corner! The staff were friendly and awesome, thank you OG Soup Kitchen!!“

“I've been to a few ichiran locations and have always been satisfied. Is it the best ramen in the city? Maybe not, but it's a really solid and well balanced bowl that you get to eat in a relatively unique solo booth experience. I love the little booths, it's very relaxing for me to eat in my own little cubby. I will say though, the lines can get long.

As for the actual ramen, last time I went with the classic tonkotsu with all the recommended settings. It didn’t come with an egg by default, which id probably add next time, but otherwise I was happy with it. The broth is the real star of the show - it really exemplifies a classic tonkotsu with the perfect amount of unctuous, creamy mouthfeel and savory, rich flavors. They also give a lot more chashu than I would expect, which is nice. The chashu was super tender, although mildly flavored. The recommended firmness for the noodles was medium, but next time I would definitely go for firm because they were too soft for my liking.

All in all an awesome bowl or ramen with a unique eating experience. Worth checking out for sure!“

“I’ve had sushi all over America, and this is a top contender amongst the best I’ve had. The menu is on the simpler side, but don’t let that detract you from the absolute quality they deliver. The sushi rolls are larger than typical and priced very reasonable for what you get. Plus they serve warm sushi rice which not many places outside of Los Angeles do.“

“The food was excellent - the crispy duck tasted very crispy with the sauce, and the chive pancake tasted better than any other pancake. The service was very fast when delivering the dishes, delivering them all within 10 minutes of placing an order. “I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

“This is such a lovely spot. I first tried this spot many years ago. There used to be a Polish restaurant one block south of here, Neptune. We would go there and then come to brodo and grab a broth to go, often for my dad in the VA hospital up on 23 St. few places would sell you just broth.

I absolutely love the Hearth broth and you can add the ginger turmeric, which I highly recommend. I also ordered and tried the beef broth with ginger and turmeric, it was fine. Oddly enough, the hearth had a richer, beefier flavor than the beef did. It’s just a heartier flavor, I highly recommend it. I could easily pop over to enjoy a cup of broth in place of my daily coffee, it’s a similarly comfortable cup that travels well.“

“This little gem of a restaurant was such a great find. I was craving phó for a few days and decided to try a new place. My usual spots were just average so I hit the old search engine up for suggestions and found Chef Papa. There’s not a lot of seating so be forewarned. I was dining solo. I ordered their signature phó and a minced pork banh mi. When it comes to phó it’s all about the soup. Their broth is delicious. From the first spoon full you can tell it’s fresh and not full of msg or salt. The rice noodles had a nice chew to them and the proteins were plentiful. The banh mi baguette was crisp and lightly toasted. At the bottom was warm grilled minced pork. Above that was the Viet ham, cucumber, julienne carrots and cilantro.“

“Just finished eating here and this place is amazing. We ordered the Sesame Chicken and Young Chow Fried Rice. The Sesame Chicken was delicious as it wasn’t too sweet, but instead hits right on the spot. The Fried Rice tasted really good. The waiters were pretty nice and it wasn’t crowded when we came so we only had to wait like 10 minutes for the food. The atmosphere is very decorated and clean which adds to the authentic Chinese restaurant look. Overall, I recommend this place and if you’re in the area, try it out!“

“I would say this is a solid 3.5 stars. Service is fast, food is edible, but not something I would crave or after eating felt satiated.

I’m vegetarian so I got the veggie bowl which was kale, broccoli, picked veggies and sweet potatoes with quinoa. There was too much quinoa in relation to veggies. I did eat everything and left most of the quinoa.
Veggies tasted ok and everything was seasoned well.

If you are in a pinch and need a fast healty-ish lunch, I think this place could work. I have been here twice in the year and a half I have lived in DUMBO.“

“Listen, I love when a place makes you feel good from the moment you walk in the door. These brothers are truly hospitable and cool. The food was very tasty and the smoothie was amazing!! I had such a pleasurable experience. So much so that I returned the next day!!!

You must have the burger with blue cheese as well as the Choco-latte smoothie!!! The vibe and the energy is just right! It’s an intimate place that can maybe fit 6 people as you order, however, they treated me like so had been there a thousand times before!

“This place was on my bucket list and the wait on Monday night wasn’t too bad. We waited for 20 minutes and got seated right away. The food was comforting and the dweji gomtang lives up to its reputation. I would say it was not as good as I expected it to be but it was still very delicious.“

“I love this place very much. I have to write a review because this place is very special to me now and I have to express my gratitude. I've been coming here with my father for some time now, and today we had the super delicious crepe, calamari, and pho, SO DELICIOUS and after finishing the meal with my father, he said that it has been a while since he ate so deliciously. Because of things that have happened to our family in recent years, meals that feel warm don't come as often anymore. So him saying that today filled me with relief. We always leave Sao Mai smiling because we eat so much and laugh about how full we are. “My first time trying coconut hot pot and I’ve clearly been missing out! The coconut broth was light and sweet, and way easier on the stomach than a regular hot pot.

We visited on one of the coldest days, and the restaurant was PACKED. It’s located in Downtown Flushing, literally right next to Tangram. It’s also more affordable than other coconut hot pot spots in the city, with a heartier portion too.

Shoutout to the impeccable service — our server even helped skim off the floating oil from the broth (and made me want to buy that ladle lol).

They use cage-free chicken, and the pieces were generously sized with not too much bone. This portion was already enough to feed four. The set also comes with vegetables, plus your choice of rice or noodles. The coconut broth wasn’t heavy at all that we were basically sipping it nonstop.

You get a discounted price if you add their claypot rice to your hot pot order. It looked very promising and delicious, especially with the runny poached egg. But I thought the rice needed a few more minutes in the clay pot to crisp up the base a bit more.

The price is pretty steep for just three wontons, but I love Maxi’s so much that I still went for it. The shrimp wontons were so plump and meaty.
