Now I live in Maine and ask any New Yorker what the miss most and New York bagels will be in the top 3. Here in Bridgton ME we found my favorite pumpernickel bagel at Food City. WOW, a GREAT BAGEL!!! Shared how these bagel were as good as the best bagels I had on Long Island, NY. Complimented Food City on their Great bagels. Never thinking to look at the label...Bohemia, NY. LONG ISLAND BAGELS!!! It's always a win when a place nails specific requests, and they clearly did with your order: toasted on both sides, perfectly runny over-easy eggs, and that extra kick of raw onions.

They're involved with numerous Charities from coats and toys for the needy, to Cancer Research, for our Men and Women in the Armed Services. They donate to local hospitals events and fundraisers. I've tried Bagel Stores from Miller Place to Stony Brook, from Coram to Port Jeff, including other Strathmore's and by far Strathmore of Mount Sinai has been the best.“

“I called to order a chicken salad wrap, not realizing they were closing within the next 15 minutes! (I only realized the closing time after placing my order over the phone and then seeing the hours online rifht afted.) I try never to do that because I've made that mistake in the past (not here; at other delis or bagel shops) and in return experienced bad customer service... again, not at Toasted Bagel, but elsewhere. I get it! People want to clean and get home. But, that wasn't the case at all here - when I called without realizing they were almost closing, the woman was still so pleasant taking my order. And when I came to pick up, it was evident they were closing up... and yet still, they were so welcoming, kind, and provided the same great customer service that I usually get when I stop in here. Not to mention my food was delicious as usual. So often we tolerate grumpy staff at other places and brush it off, but having employees who are as kind and welcoming as they are to me (and my 6 month old son) meant a lot to me. My husband has the same customer service experience when he goes in there as well. While the food is good, the quality of their kind staff is what keeps us coming back. Thank you so much!“

“Superb bagels. Best in the area. Most of the food here is great. I love their chicken salad. It's my favorite. Our orders have literally never been wrong so I am highly skeptical of all the reviews that claim they always make mistakes. If that was true, with how often we go, we should have experienced several mishaps but… not a one! More than likely it is all simply untrue or from unhappy people who just like to complain.

The pastries are all really good, except the Irish soda bread. That's about the only thing I've had from here that I have not liked. That said, the muffins are TO. DIE. FOR!!

I am not a big fan of the set up and when it is really crowded (which is most of the time) you constantly have to push to try to get to the cashier. Once you order there is nowhere to go to wait except around the center island and the walkways get really congested. They keep everything moving fast so it’s not too bad. Not much else can be done about it, though, given the length/width of the space. Very enjoyable. We go all the time. We will continue to go all the time.“
