“We spontaneously stopped by Kuu on a Thursday evening and immediately snagged a table. Both the sushi and the two vegetarian ramen soups were delicious and filling.
The service was also very attentive and friendly. We would definitely come back!“

“All the dishes were fantastic, but my favorite was the tandoori lamb kebab, it was absolutely delicious. The exterior was perfectly crispy, yet the meat remained tender and juicy. If you love lamb, you definitely need to try it. I ate an entire pound on my own. The guyru laghman was also great, with rich and flavorful seasoning. While the other dishes might not have been as remarkable, they were still well above average. The only thing that didn’t suit my taste was their dessert. The dessert was overly sweet, almost excessively so, though that might be their signature style. As for the service, it seems like only their daughter speaks English, but her voice is quite soft, and it feels like she’s contributing to the family business out of obligation. However, this doesn’t affect anything, I’d still go back again.“

“You can tell the owner puts so much care and passion into the food. The atmosphere feels intimate and cozy, like a hole in the wall does. The crab cake pad Thai was particularly tasty. Delicious food at a reasonable price that is well worth the wait and patience (since the owner is both the only waiter and only chef)!“

“I usually get the original since I don't like tomatoes and can't eat spicy. However, I tried the tomato and to my surprise, it was WAY better than the original. Perfect lunch and you'll feel very full. Service was amazing they knew that my mom and aunt wanted tea and the younger ppl wanted iced water. Very smart waiters lol. Food was decently quick to come out and the atmosphere was amazing. The place has high ceilings and nice artwork on the walls making the place look very expensive but the food was very affordable and delicious.“

“The atmosphere was peaceful and comforting and the customer service was on point, I ordered the chicken cutlet and the purple rice and after trying i definitely will recommend the chicken cutlet the seasoning was delicious, but for the purple rice for the same price in 8ave I would say to add watermelon pieces for a refreshing taste and texture. Overall definitely recommend coming here.“

“I’m Chinese from the Sichuan region. Spoiled with many good food growing up, I find many popular Chinese restaurants in NYC a scam. But this is my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood (or even my favorite Chinese in the whole city in terms of price and quality ratio). We come here twice or three times a week. Every dish is fresh, authentic and affordable. Our favorite dishes are: horn pepper beef, string beans, mapo tofu and fatty beef in sour soup. No tips needed. Cashier lady is very friendly that we become friends with her.“

“Recently open and the place is phenomenal. The food is cheap and affordable. Service is superior aka fast and no tip unless you want to. We had the steam pork buns, the fuzhou wonton soup, noodles with peanut sauce and the mei fen with beef tripe soup. I got the pan fried pork buns to go. It was super good and tasteful. “My favorite spot for the winter with their nice soup noodles for about only $10 per bowl which is really nice with how much they give you and how warming you will feel every bite. it is like any other restaurant, you wait until they seat you, wait until you are ready to order, you wait for the food, eat, tip and leave. the place is usually really packed during lunch time so either be lucky/wait to eat or not go at lunch.“

“We were visiting this Chinese neighborhood in Brooklyn and one of the employees recommended this restaurant for noodles. It was amazing, really one of the best places we have eaten and seemed very authentic. This is very much understated, a hole in the wall with a relatively simple menu. You pay cash, the food comes out. Piping hot for dining in or takeout, fresh, delicious, and when you are done you have already paid. So you just leave. Leave. There were many people came in while we were eating in which says to me that this is a favored neighborhood joint. Highly recommended.“

“It is a pretty good place for fish slice dishes the food was pretty good with good flavors but not strong the service was pretty normal not bad but also not amazing and the atmosphere is not well with it being quite empty with decore and the amount of people that eat there. “Growing up, one of my all-time favorite dishes has been the hand-pulled steak noodle soup from this noodle shop. My last three visits have been great, making me satisfied with my experience. I did have one experience that wasn’t quite good when I ordered it to go, as the flavor didn't quite match the dining experience. However, overall, I absolutely love this place! I highly recommend dining in inside!“

“I’ve been coming here for a couple years, and the real standout isn’t the BBQ, it’s their amazing congee. Try it with white fish and ask for extra scallions. My girlfriend & I wouldn’t even think about getting congee anywhere else in this neighborhood.

As for BBQ, it’s really good with a few exceptions. The roast duck is thin mostly fat not a lot of meat, I would skip it entirely or get it from somewhere else. But the Char Siu and roasted pig are actually really good, I like to get the combo with both pork options. They are very generous with portions if it’s over rice and give lots of vegetables with your meal.

I don’t think this place deserves most of their bad reviews, it’s not perfect, but the staff are friendly and the food is good and affordable. Definitely more clean and higher quality compared to other options in this neighborhood. Don’t listen to people who complain about every little thing, give this place a shot.“
