Super affordable and convenient as well, and they answered any and every question they had. “I recently stopped at the Restaurant at Apple Greens rest area along the Thruway in Upstate New York. Overall, it was a very efficient and convenient stop for a quick meal and break during the trip. I grabbed breakfast at Chick-fil-A, and though it was only my second time trying it, I enjoyed the spicy chicken biscuit—it was pretty good! There’s also a Panera Bread, Burger King, Auntie Anne’s, and a souvenir/convenience store, which offers plenty of options.

The decor is pretty basic, but it’s what you’d expect from a rest stop, so no complaints there. However, the place was quite cold, which made it a bit uncomfortable. The bathrooms, on the other hand, were very clean and well-maintained, which is always appreciated when traveling.

Overall, this rest stop gets the job done and has everything you need for a quick break. I’d recommend it if you're on the Thruway and need to stop for food or a bathroom break.“

“Visited Garvan’s today for the first time for a late lunch in the Pub. We started with Mexican Street Carrots. So delicious! My husband had the traditional Irish breakfast and I had the lamb stew. Both meals were excellent. Wish we could have had dessert, but we were so stuffed. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. We’re looking forward to visiting again.“

Waitress was nice and polite but should have checked at least once for drink refills. I tried to make reservations for my car club to come there on a given Sunday and time in May, about 10 of us, but was told they don't do that. I guess it's first come, first serve for seating. We want to eat together and would arrive about 1:30PM. I thought we could secure the back room, but no was the answer. It's ok. I understand. No hard feelings. If we were in that area again, we would eat there. We'll just look for another place in Rosendale. Best wishes to that facility.“

“Usually offers good bread. But is very wishy washy on their "old bread sales" prices. If it's a day old it should be discounted - period. (I have worked for almost four years in a bakery) This is being aggregated by the fact that I was not notified of this pricing structure when I asked for day old bread (with the specific intend to get a discount for something that is not fresh and won't last me as long). Had I been informed about this, I would have just bought the same bread *fresh* - for the *same price*. I feel that the omission of this fact is even done purposely to mislead customers.“

“My wife and myself have been going to the Hurley Mountain Inn for years. The owner Steve and his staff are amazing. When you walk through the door you get treated like family. With a wide variety of great food to choose from there is something for everyone. There is also a great selection of drink to choose from as well. Anything from beer, wine and ciders as well as a variety of different soda’s to choose from. “So many community members, businesses, friends & family, came together to support the Gribbon family in their recent renovation at the new location. The new High Falls Cafe is beautiful! It has the same welcoming atmosphere as its previous location, but this is so much better! Food and service are great, and they have been very busy since opening a few weeks ago. If you want to ensure that you can get a table, make a reservation in advance!“

“Cajun food in New Paltz NY? I was skeptical, but what we had was terrific! That night the only exception was the jambalaya which seemed overcooked and dry. But everything else was great, the five of us had a wide variety of appetizers and entrees. Too full for dessert. Next time! Easy parking, inside and outside deck seating options.“

“I’ve struggled with finding really delicious wings in the area. It seems like Buffalo was the only place to go-until now. I was recommended to this place and I’m very happy with the quality of the wings. I had Thai and extra hot wings. The only thing is that the extra hot wasn’t hot at all to me. But that’s just me and that certainly doesn’t take away from the quality of the food and the excellent service. Next time I’ll just specify exactly how hot I want the wings. I highly recommend Hickory to anyone who is looking for delicious smoked food.“

“I know things have to change...but seeing how the place was virtually stripped of all its character from the days of Steve's ownership just broke my old New Paltzian townie heart. I was glad to see old favorites on the menu and maybe some new ones...it wasn't really the same though. I was sad not to see the wooden booths where one *thought* private conversations could be had and the old wooden bar that had so many great moments of community shared. And the local art work too...gone. Not sure if I will return...I'll have to hold onto my memories, though perhaps I will convince my home grrrllzz to go and make new ones with me when I come to town. I am grateful that the name hasn't changed-it was hard enough when it changed from The Gay Nineties Bistro to just *The Bistro*. I am also glad there are menu items on there I know and love. I wish the owners good luck and longevity. It's really an institution and I'd hate to see it fall to ruin like so many of my cherished places of the past.“
