“Tarry Tavern for dinner: Mom had Seared maine sea scallops with local corn and leek risotto and I got the roasted Hudson valley duck breast with pecan cranberry wild rice and sunchoke purée. Unreal. Mom cleaned her plate at a restaurant for the first time in ages and mine was to die for. We shared the pumpkin pecan bread pudding for dessert. Outstanding experience with excellent, friendly service“

“The Tapp is the quintessential local bar. The staff are very friendly, the burgers are phenomenal (as is everything else on the menu), and the prices are more than reasonable. If you find yourself in Tarrytown for shopping or seeing a show at The Music Hall, make a stop at The Tapp a part of the experience. Better still, make the trip just to visit The Tapp alone. It really is a great place to hang out with friends, catch a singer, play Tuesday Night Trivia, or have a terrific meal.“

“We Brunched... the menu is really interesting and the food was delicious. We sat outside on a gorgeous September Sunday and that was lovely too. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed. It appeared that he had too many tables and we had to continually ask for things...(hot sauce, dessert menus, for our table to be cheated, the check). Maybe they just hit a beautiful day and they got mobbed and there went enough staff? We didn't let it ruin our meal. Would definitely return.“

“This restaurant is a real find, perfect location overlooking the Tappan Zee bridge, the service was quick and organized, the atmosphere was calm and harmonious, and about the food, everything was carefully plated in a 5-star style, and the prices are affordable, I had the lobster risotto which was by far the best seafood plate I've ever had. It was well worth the visit and I will definitely come back again. Note, don't leave without trying the Truffle Dessert it was totally amazing“

“This restaurant is almost a secret. It has a very unassuming facade. Inside it feels like a posh Manhattan eatery in the middle of White Plains. The food is delicious with an elegant presentation. I love that it looks at the fountain on Main Street. So peaceful. Service is also top notch.“

“We have been back several times now and each time has reinforced our feeling that it's a local favorite. Last night the oysters were superb—bright, a bit salty, like the ocean. My fish tacos were surprisingly delicious. Others had the seafood Fra Diavolo, and one in our group had a steak. Everyone left happy.“

“Wanted to give a shout out to the restaurant, Freddy’s, in Pleasantville. Went with a couple of girlfriends a few weeks ago and then again with my hubby last week. Both meals were delicious. The appetizers are yummy! Most of all, though, I wanted to remark on the atmosphere. The people in charge are just delightful. Had a chance to meet the owner. He told me he named the restaurant after his grandfather ( forgive, it might have been his father). Either way I thought it was nice. He has a young family and loves what he does. They have been open for two years, but I just found them now. If you haven’t checked them out, you should soon!“

“Had my 65th Birthday party back in March in the back room. We had a pianist and wonderful decorations. To say it was fabulous is an understatement. David and Jill looked after every detail. The staff was great and on top of everything. And the food, the food! So good! Every one of our guests went on and on about the whole evening. “This is a good chain with consistent Burgers and decent Fries, but the winner is the chicken sandwich and Gluten free fried chicken and collard green wraps.
The shakes are decent but $11 .
No frills decent bar but gluten free buns are little too thick that takes away from the burger..“

Twice, recently, I dined at I'l Fresco with friends and family members; The words they used to describe Il Fresco were: -Fabulous - dinner was scrumptious -Phenomenal restaurant and staff -Tastiest sauce in the world - delicious hot bread out of the oven. -An Exceptional dining experience. -Amazing homemade tiramisu - wonderful desserts -Best meal ever - better than the meals I had while visiting Sorrento, Italy. From my cousin who went back to Belfast, Northern Ireland: I am keen to get back to visit again and hopefully we can visit the fantastic restaurant again, can't remember the name otherwise it would be getting a 5 star from me. “Modern on the Rails is a solid dinner spot. It’s a great location and the ambiance/decor is a total vibe. It’s definitely got an upscale feel, while also not being stuffy or fancy. You could easily go here for dinner in jeans and not feel out of place, but also if you wanted to dress up for a date night or special occasion, it would also be appropriate.

The space is also really nice and is a good option if you were having a larger group or wanted to do a celebratory meal.

The staff is friendly and attentive.

The food is solid and the price is reasonable for what you are getting. They brought over bread to start and the bread was nice and warm. We started with the burrata app which weirdly came with 3 pieces of medium bread (same as the basket, but toasted or grilled). It felt like it should have been smaller crostini type bread and also more pieces given the app, but it didn’t matter because we had the warm bread basket. The app itself was nice, but not overly special.

For dinner we had the burger and the squid ink pasta with salmon. The burger was good, but the sweet potato fries needed any kind of seasoning, even salt. The pasta was the best dish of the night. The salmon was cooked perfectly, the sauce was delicious and the pasta was great.

Overall, I would definitely come back here again. It’s a nice spot with reasonable prices, great ambiance and service, and the food is solid.“
