“"Recently had the pleasure of dining at Pho by Night, and it was an unforgettable experience. As a lover of both Pho and vegetarian cuisine, I was thrilled to discover a place that combines the best of both worlds. From the moment I stepped in, the cozy ambiance and warm welcome made me feel right at home. The menu, brimming with vegetarian options, offered a refreshing take on traditional Pho, each dish bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection.“

“Customer service was very poor, only half of our order came to the table as we were told they’re out of chicken after getting half of it. So we had to eat just the fried rice and soup without any mains. They offered that the rice will be on the house, but then secretly charged us for it. Overall the staff was very disrespectful and not courteous at all. Food was good though but not worth the service we got.“

“I discovered this restaurant about 3 months ago and since then, im addicted to it! This place has amazing good food. The Bun Bo Hue "spicy", lemongrass soup is my favourite. I eat it at least 2-3 time per month. It is sooooo flavourful!!! Then, I've tried Bun Cha for the first time yesterday and I fell in love with this plate too. So fresh, so flavourful. I can't wait to discover more of their food. And, the service is amazing, employees are super nice. Love this place“

“recently had the pleasure of indulging in a bowl of pho at a local Vietnamese restaurant, and it was an absolute delight. The aromatic broth was rich and comforting, infused with a harmonious blend of spices. The thinly sliced beef was tender and cooked to perfection, adding a savory dimension to every slurp. The rice noodles were perfectly cooked, maintaining their firmness throughout the meal. Topped with fresh herbs and bean sprouts, the pho provided a burst of freshness and crunch. The attention to detail in crafting this traditional dish truly shone through, making it an authentic and satisfying experience. If you’re a fan of Vietnamese cuisine or just looking for a soul-warming bowl of goodness, this pho spot is definitely worth a visit.“

“The pho here was absolutely delicious!I got the large size however it was very big- enough to feed 2-3 people. The well done beef was very very good however the short rib beef was tough & hard to chew.We also got the deep fried shrimp rolls and they were crispy & delicious. Will definitely come back here !“

“Experience was okish, chicken in banh mi was extra chewy and did not have enough seasoning but taste was good and bread seemed very fresh. Spring roll was good and Pho we took was with shrimp wonton. We found rice noodle quantity too much and broth less for a bowl of pho. Service was quick initially bit no one came back to check on us until billing which was strange. Ambience and location is nice, found food and service average“

“We were in an out of this spot within 45 minutes; such quick service! It was nice and quiet within, and our server was the sweetest woman. She was efficient and really made our experience special. The thin egg noodle soup (with tofu) was so tasty; I got a medium and have plenty of leftovers.Great bang for your buck!“

“One of the best Vietnamese restaurant in Ottawa. I have been in many places from Paris , Nice, Cannes, Venice, Rome, Florence, Amsterdam, Geneva, Frankfurt, Berlin, to Washington DC, Austin ...There's only a couple of restaurants in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh ville that are better. Excellent price-quality ratio but no parking, no reservation and no credit card accepted.“

“I’m trying to find the best bun bo hue in the city. The sliced beef and the pork hock were good and clean. The beef shank was cut too thick so it’s a bit hard to chew. The broth was clearly good bone broth that gelatinized when cold. But I was disappointed by the flavour, it’s lacking some spices. The price is higher than most Vietnamese restaurants. It is reasonable as the portion size is a bit bigger. Service was fast. But there are better Bun Bo Hues in the city.“

“I always pickup spring rolls here. The "special spring rolls" on the menu. These are hands down the best spring rolls in Ottawa. Very authentic and fresh. The staff is also very friendly and the service is fast. I look forward to trying other things here.“

“Really nice little place on Somerset at Bronson ave! I hade the chicken broth with shrimp and pork pho - very tasty, lots of thinly sliced pork, noodles, sprouts and a few shrimp. Anyone who says it’s bland obviously didn’t add the spices that they give you with it.Made for an awesome lunch!“

“Every corner of this cash only takeout shop has so much charm. The loud Vietnamese music is usually an energetic or nostalgic vibe. I think of the sandwiches as humble and correct in terms of the ingredients and how they come together with each satisfying bite. I normally order the A1 on the menu. I’ve also had the iced coffee in the summer and it was great. I always admire the multicolored ceiling fan too.“

“I've been coming here on and off for over 20 years. Every time I have a sip of the complimentary tea (hot or cold depending on the season), it brings back a lot of good memories. Even though I don't live nearby, I always try to stop by if I'm shopping in the neighborhood. The food has always been excellent and affordable, the service prompt and cheerful. I usually get the fresh rolls (BBQ Pork is my fave), iced coffee with sugar and a large bowl of Pho.I hope to continue dining here for another 20 years!“

“A classic Vietnamese establishment, the quality is there and the service is friendly. The condiments are on the table and the soup comes with all the "sides". Reasonable prices. If you order with a delivery service it will be twice the price! To avoid.“

“As they say in Vietnamese, the food was "Thom gun!!" (most probably that's misspelled, but it means 'delicious'!!). We found a good parking spot behind the restaurant, so it was convenient, and the service right after we ordered our food was quick, excellent and when we asked for more lime, we were surprised when they brought us a bunch!! Usually, restaurants bring us only one tiny lime quarter (or two, if we are lucky), but here, they are not tight with their service. The food was the happy note of my day.Yum-yummy!!Parking: There is a lot for customers just behind the restaurant“

“I’ve been here a few times before. Their pho is not as what you would get from pho places in Chinatown. The chicken wings are fried nicely and are crispy. If you don’t want to venture downtown, this place will meet your Vietnamese needs.“

“They're back! I ordered the seafood laksa (not on the menu, but they used to make it occasionally, and they still do) and it was a sumptuous feast for the senses! The broth was rich and spicy, a symphony of flavors. Based on this laksa, and having tried most of their dishes before they closed, I bet everything else tastes top-notch and they've kept the same quality level. I'll be back!“

“Always come here for pho, #100. This time we ordered pad grow prow and although it's not the authentic version we're accustomed to, it's still delicious and amazing in flavour. For those who know what pad grow prow taste like, this is not it. It's more like a beef pepper stir fry.So just a heads up for those expecting PGP.“

“Don’t underestimate this spot! The location is in the basement but the moment you can smell the food as you come down the stairs you’ll know why this place has such great reviews. The tofu peanut soup was amazing and definitely hit the spot, was even better with a side of rice! The general Tao vegan chicken was great and we have lots of leftovers. It was such a shock that there was so many vegetarian/vegan options that I took forever choosing, everything sounded so good! We decided to dine in and the cashier was doing a million things but she still took the time to serve us and get us water :) Atmosphere is a little hole in the wall—but not in a bad way—if you can order ahead it can help with wait time as we came when all the delivery orders were coming in. Loved this place and will be back again!!“

“I've been coming here for years. This is the first place I tried Vietnamese cuisine, and it's the place to which I compare any others (few can compare!). The food here is fantastic, and the service is friendly and efficient. The hot and sour soup, and spring rolls in particular here are unrivaled... the rest of the food is great too and very reasonably priced. I've never had a bad meal or experience here. You really need to try it.Parking: Very small lot behind the building. Chinatown is pretty cramped anywhere. Having a lot at all is uncommon.“

“Run to this place!! We stumbled upon Saigon, went in for a drink and we were thoroughly impressed. We were greeted by a personable bar twnder who is a competitive mixologist and specializes in unique infusions that you wont fund anywhere else. We had the cresanthemum tea cocktail which was so light and refreshing. We alsi had the Old Fashion but this no ordinary old fashioned. It has essence of star anise and cinnamon, garnised with mint and orange - It does not disappoint. The bartender happily made me a drink, off the menu, which is the photo attached. It was possibly the best drink I've ever had and the drizzle design is dual purpose for a wonderfully beautiful scent and umami flavor with every sip - fantastic! The design of the bar and green velvet stools are nice. The front of the establishment has a glass opening wall, perfect for nice weather people watching! We did not eat but several people around us were and the food looked incredible accompanied by glowing reviews from those eating. The Fairmont sent patrons there with the message Saigon IS THE PLACE for a great cocktail and it's an accurate recommendation that I'd make to anyone. The cocktails are pricey but you get what you're paying for and you realize this as you watch the detail and different quality, unique ingredients going into each creation. Just go ?“

“My wife and I ate here with a couple of friends. We started with won ton soup, hot and sour soup as well as vegetable spring rolls. They ordered chicken satay, mixed vegetables, chicken fried rice and pineapple chicken. We ordered beef with ginger and onions, five spice prawns and pork fried rice. Everything was freshly made and delicious. They received all their dishes before us though so service was a bit out of sync. We had dinner on a pretty cold night and we had to ask our waiter to turn on the overhead heater as we were seated near the door and every time it opened, we got a blast of cold air. The seating area is small so it would be difficult to avoid this. Food was excellent, service was a bit slow and price was a bit high. Would recommend and would certainly return when it’s warmer.“
