We ordered the Pasta a la Norma (eggplant cooked to perfection, fresh basil, quality ricotta, and finally a sauce with the right amount of garlic i.e. a lot), and pepperoni pizza (that dough doe). What's the most ridiculous is that we've lived a 5 minute walk away for two years now and it never occured for us to get food here. That was stupid, and we will definitely be back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.“
“We discovered The Hearty Hooligan after our daughter was diagnosed with an dairy allergy. We now eat here once a week! The food is always consistent regardless of the day of the week or how busy they are. Our favourites are the pickle fries and pizza rolls, we’ve also enjoyed the Mac and Cheese Bake, Moe’s fries, Mac and Cheese burrito, Crunch wraps.. all delicious! We usually add on a dessert to our order which is almost always a punkaroo cookie! The cupcakes and cookies are always good too. “This is a great spot for a quiet coffee and catch up with friends. Great food and coffee selection. Lots space up stairs to do some work as well.Not a criticism but one thing to note for parents with young kids. There is window/bar style seating on the main level and the rest of the seating is upstairs. I had brought my newborn in her stroller. The staff was more than accommodating and I was able to fold up my compact stroller and tuck it out of the way. Larger strollers will have a tougher time navigating this space.“

Being we were down for a visit my mil took me in for 2 dozen natas Later on that day My hubby & I went back in for lunch. Bifanas were probably the best we ever had and I had rice pudding as dessert. “Food was simple, but tasty. Great place to stop in for breakfast or a simple lunch. We had the brirnand bacon frittata, the burger, matcha latte and caramel latte.Parking can be a challenge, and seating might be difficult since it's small space. They don't do reservations. Found the product in their freezer - defrosted at home and much to our disappointment, the biscotti was still rock hard. Could not bite into it unless you would prefer chipped or broken teeth. Tried microwaving it, which left a burnt taste, therefore, ultimately tossing it.Owner's response? To assess remaining biscotti when they dropped off more products to Bake Healthii. No follow-up. No replacement. Such poor customer service.Will no longer be supporting this business, which is a shame considering other desserts I purchased were enjoyable.“

She patiently shopped for the most amazing accessories while keeping me involved through the process with pics, crafted little figurines in sugar, and made a sign in the font I want, and made all the colours pop! The red velvet cake was so incredible that my friend who really is not into dessert absolutely loved it and ate it all! It also survived a 4 hour road trip to Detroit. Since my husband has gotten my two tiered beach/bbq themed cake from her, plus we got macarons and cupcakes too another time. Do note that there is usually already a line waiting for the doors to open so we try to get there as close to 10am as possible but they are constantly replenishing and bringing out new treats throughout the day. The ham/cheese crepe is so good with big chunks of ham, the chocolate croissants are perfect and my favourite is the blue cheese/bacon and peach croissant. So many interesting choices and everything we’ve tried has been such a treat. Highly recommend!“

There is a limited number of dogs they allow inside, so you might get waitlisted if it's too busy. I think on weekends it's good to make a reservation.
