“Food is good, though portions are small for the price (even for Korean cuisine, which tends to run more expensive). Japchae was delicious but the portion would be insufficient for a full meal despite the price; bulgogi is similarly very tasty but a small quantity that requires quite a bit of rice to be filling enough for an adult. We loved the seafood pancake, though it was a bit wetter than we are used to (likely because of the takeout container, would've been fine for dine-in).

The chicken sauces are yummy. We got the sweet and spicy and the soy garlic. However, the fried chicken is fried slices of chicken, more akin to tempura than Korean fried chicken at most other places (where you get pieces of chicken e.g. leg, thigh, even if boneless it isn't in slices like this). Therefore the batter to meat ratio is relatively high, which makes for a chewier bite and the meat itself is a bit drier. Not terrible by any means but definitely better if you love soaking up sauce and don't mind the breadier texture.

Bottom line: better dine-in than takeout, food is good but expensive for smaller portions so you will likely need to order more than usual.“

“We had a great experience at BAB Korean Restaurant! We ordered the fried chicken, jajangmyeon, and seafood hot pot, and everything was delicious. The fried chicken was crispy and flavorful, the jajangmyeon was rich and tasty, and the seafood hot pot was fresh and full of flavor. The portions were generous, and we really enjoyed every dish. Definitely a great place for Korean food. We’ll definitely come back again!“

“As a Korean, I was not expecting much from this Korean restaurant in Hamilton… I don’t even know if there are any Korean grocery stores for them to get the necessary ingredients.
But when the food came out it was legit. Like legit, legit!
In Toronto this restaurant would rate a 8.5, but in Hamilton, it’s a 10!!!“

We got tteokboki, squid and pork dinner, and seafood black bean noodles. All dishes were amazing and portions were big!“
