Restaurant - Great location and great vibes. It’s a high end restaurant and the ambiance is apt.

Food - They are known for their St. burger which is what my friend tried and said it was pretty good. I had the chicken and it was good too. Something on the plate was a bit salty but overall it was a unique take on a chicken dish and tasted good.

Price - it’s a pricey restaurant but I did not find the food to be worth the price. I paid for an iced tea and the chicken, and my bill was $57. However, the great thing about the restaurant is that you don’t have to tip on top of your total bill. Tip is already included in the meal price so in that sense, I guess it’s a good thing.

Vegetarian options: They had quite a few vegetarian options.“

“The food was good. The beef tartar was amazing, as expected. We love how they roasted the bread with butter; it's crispy and flavourful. The sausage was different than we expected but in a good way. I like how they did the potato; it was soft but crunchy. The portion was okay. Two main dishes were good enough for the two of us for brunch.
The restaurant is small, so you might expect to wait 15-45 minutes.
The only minus point is that our server didn’t seem very friendly and attentive. He made us feel like we did something wrong when we asked for recommendations.“

“A very cozy spot where you can find unconventional offerings. I’m talking about the impressive list of meats which are injected into classic dishes. I’m a huge fan of local seasonal and wild foods and this is one of the only spots in the city that executes flawlessly on them, doing the ingredients a real justice.

Aside from the elk, venison, bison, and foraged mushrooms, I think these guys nail their duck dishes perfectly. Pairing it with the foie gras is just bliss.

I highly recommend Antler for a memorable night and to wow your guests.“

“I went on a Tuesday for See you next Tuesday musical theatre open mic with live singers performing with a pianist and it was really fun and some great singers. The host Heidi is super entertaining and keeps the energy up and the show moving along so well. Great evening

From first arriving, the hostess took the time to offer a complimentary champagne glass and inquire if our visit that day was for a special occasion. It was a reunion and she graciously followed up with pleasant comments establishing a charming mood. When the waitress came to greet us, she also took the time to find out more about the nature of our reunion and only then flawlessly delved into the menu. I understand this is common practice at luxury restaurants; however, I would contend that, although there are dining establishments that treat patrons similarly, it is not simply about what you do but, rather, how well you do it. And this is the reason I am taking the time to write this review: JOEY does it very well. Having frequented several luxury restaurants in downtown Toronto I can anecdotally share with you that there have been far too many occasions when the host and/or server left a poor impression. Whether it is conceited complacency in their brand or even our own bigotry of unrealistic expectations, there seldom is a meeting point of both food, service, and overall impression. The treatment at JOEY was so genuine that it left an indelible impression. Each interaction with the server and hostess throughout complemented our dining experience. We were then surprised with dessert on the house presented on an expansive serving plate with the words “Happy Reunion!” written in caramel. Delicious, delicious caramel. Mmmm, but I digress… Over the years I have written to restaurants far more complaints than compliments and, in retrospect, this is unfair. It takes a team and a culture to create this magic and it can be quite challenging to get it right. When it comes together as well as it did on our visit, it is the sort of joy that can accompany you throughout your day. At JOEY they seem to have captured the right formula and I look forward to returning and catching up with “good friends” that understand that going out to eat today is about so much more.“

After reading some of the other comments in the question section, we called to confirm the extent to which they are wheelchair accessible. Utterly disappointed to find out that although they have a ramp, the only accessible dining areas are if you're with one of the large groups. Meaning that as an individual with accessibility needs, I was excluded from dining at this restaurant. My accessibility needs are temporary, however you can guarantee I won't be dining at this restaurant even when I'm able to walk again, until they rectify this situation. Inexcusable to exclude people with mobility needs in this day and age.“

Yesterday, I had a layover in Toronto of around 12 hours. Took a terminal train, the up train, the subway and my feet all the way from Winnipeg to dine here. Scrumptious. Healthy. “I end up staying at the InterContinental hotel each year for a conference and most certainly the highlight of each stay is an end of day beverage in the Azure bar. Each year without fail we make sure we visit when Paula is working. She's makes an absolutely top shelf Old Fashioned (or frankly, any cocktail I've asked for, and I'm fussy) and she just makes us smile each time. Definitely recommend for a relaxed and social atmosphere.“

We had to wait a little for a table , which is totally understandable on a Friday night ,, no reso, but we were kindly assured by a couple of servers that we would be seated quickly and we were. We were taken care of by several people and the wine was great. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars on food is because of the shucking of the oysters, although they were very tasty they had a lot of shell , the mignonette, however was one of the best in the city , and the carrot cake … I’m picky . It’s a very comfortable atmosphere and will be our go-to in our neighbourhood. Absolutely a must try.“
