“My friends and I went to thousand islands for a few days and stayed in an airbnb. We couldn't find any restaurants nearby except for Rapid Valley so we decided to try it out and it was worth it. The building itself was clean and comfortable, the service was perfect but the best part was the food. I got the fried chicken sandwich which was amazing. The fries lacked some salt but there was salt provided so that wasn't an issue. One of my friends got the fish and chips which also tasted really good but was really oily which you would expect. My other friend got the chicken strips which were also good. My other friend also got the fried chicken sandwich. I would highly recommend anyone in the area to come here.“

“Service - Absolutely amazing service from start to finish. Server paid attention to the guests and provided immaculate service.

Restaurant - Great location and great vibes. It’s a high end restaurant and the ambiance is apt.

Food - They are known for their St. burger which is what my friend tried and said it was pretty good. I had the chicken and it was good too. Something on the plate was a bit salty but overall it was a unique take on a chicken dish and tasted good.

Price - it’s a pricey restaurant but I did not find the food to be worth the price. I paid for an iced tea and the chicken, and my bill was $57. However, the great thing about the restaurant is that you don’t have to tip on top of your total bill. Tip is already included in the meal price so in that sense, I guess it’s a good thing.

Vegetarian options: They had quite a few vegetarian options.“

I ordered the hen of the woods salad which was one one the best salads I’ve ever had, clear as day gin cocktail was excellent. Their take on the old fashioned was one of the greatest old fashions I’ve ever had. I also ordered the rabbit leek and ramp pasta, it was a great choice not too heavy on the rabbit. Then the wild boar was the main paired w a South African cab sauv was excellent! For dessert I got the rhubarb cheese cake, it was so pretty and it taste amazing! This was my first time going here and on my list for a while. I will definitely be coming back to try the duck and venison.“

“In a restaurant world dressed up with disingenuous marketing JOEY Yorkdale offers you a magnificent spot outside downtown Toronto that delivers what it promises on their home page, “Our guests, new or old, are not treated just as guests, but as if they are a good friend we are catching up with.” And this was the experience for me and my two close chums who selected this spot primarily because it was the midpoint between our diverse locations. From first arriving, the hostess took the time to offer a complimentary champagne glass and inquire if our visit that day was for a special occasion. It was a reunion and she graciously followed up with pleasant comments establishing a charming mood. When the waitress came to greet us, she also took the time to find out more about the nature of our reunion and only then flawlessly delved into the menu. I understand this is common practice at luxury restaurants; however, I would contend that, although there are dining establishments that treat patrons similarly, it is not simply about what you do but, rather, how well you do it. And this is the reason I am taking the time to write this review: JOEY does it very well. Having frequented several luxury restaurants in downtown Toronto I can anecdotally share with you that there have been far too many occasions when the host and/or server left a poor impression. Whether it is conceited complacency in their brand or even our own bigotry of unrealistic expectations, there seldom is a meeting point of both food, service, and overall impression. The treatment at JOEY was so genuine that it left an indelible impression. Each interaction with the server and hostess throughout complemented our dining experience. We were then surprised with dessert on the house presented on an expansive serving plate with the words “Happy Reunion!” written in caramel. Delicious, delicious caramel. Mmmm, but I digress… Over the years I have written to restaurants far more complaints than compliments and, in retrospect, this is unfair. It takes a team and a culture to create this magic and it can be quite challenging to get it right. When it comes together as well as it did on our visit, it is the sort of joy that can accompany you throughout your day. At JOEY they seem to have captured the right formula and I look forward to returning and catching up with “good friends” that understand that going out to eat today is about so much more.“

“My husband and I came in for our anniversary, and the team truly made it a memorable evening. Our server, Jessica, was warm and attentive, and recommended a beautiful German Riesling that I thoroughly enjoyed throughout the evening. We also appreciated that both the chefs and the owner took the time to come by, serve some of the dishes, and describe them in detail. You could feel the love they put into their cooking as they explained the ingredients' producers, the inspiration for each dish, and how each component of a dish complemented the others.

I loved the small details in the preparation, like the carefully trimmed carrots and gently hulled strawberries. Considering the number of components and the level of precision involved in each dish - all executed by a small, tight-knit team - it’s commendable what they deliver night after night. One thing I especially enjoyed were the many sauces and jus, they were all so deep and balanced in flavour. My husband really loved the milk bun, he asked for a second and if we weren't so full at that point, he would've asked for a third.

One thing to note: I initially had overlooked that they offer only one dinner seating for their multi-course menu so there is seemingly no time limit on the table. So for us, we started dining at 6:30 p.m. and we finished our courses around 11:30 p.m., so this kind of pace might be worth noting when booking your table.“

Utterly disappointed to find out that although they have a ramp, the only accessible dining areas are if you're with one of the large groups. Meaning that as an individual with accessibility needs, I was excluded from dining at this restaurant. My accessibility needs are temporary, however you can guarantee I won't be dining at this restaurant even when I'm able to walk again, until they rectify this situation. Inexcusable to exclude people with mobility needs in this day and age.“

Yesterday, I had a layover in Toronto of around 12 hours. Took a terminal train, the up train, the subway and my feet all the way from Winnipeg to dine here. Scrumptious. Healthy. “What a divine evening at the Seasons restaurant in the newly - named Pan Pacific Hotel. The spacious, beautifully - appointed dining room with white table linens and exquisite glassware was set in a high - ceilinged environment. This ambience provided comfort and elegance. We were welcomed and offered our choice of seating which included our quiet booth near a modern encased fireplace. Our velvety smooth mushroom soup with oil infusion was an excellent beginning to this celebratory dinner. Our moist ,glazed turkey and cranberry stuffing were adorned with mashed potatoes, roasted carrots and brussel sprouts. Berry compote with creamy vanilla ice cream topped this delicious dinner. The waitress made this festive holiday meal a celebration to remember !“

“Man, we hit up this awesome seafood spot for dinner, and it was a vibe! The Branzino Crudo was straight-up fire—so fresh, with those crispy shishito peppers and a pop of sourness from the pomelo that just tied it all together. We also dug the caraflex; it’s got this killer crunchy texture and plays so well with the cabbage.
We went all in and ordered all three pastas. My fave was the Casarecce—super chewy noodles, and the saffron with mussels? Next-level delicious. The Caramelle was wild, like no pasta shape I’ve ever seen, and the lemon zest really cuts through the richness of the ricotta.
For the main course, the trout was crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and those almonds with the sauce? Perfection. The beef brisket was so tender it melted in your mouth, and the radish and grits were the perfect match.
The place had such a great atmosphere, and the service was top-notch. Can’t wait to go back!“

My avocado waffle sandwich was so big I removed the top and ate it like an open-faced sandwich, then I asked for maple syrup and ate the top waffle portion on its own as dessert.
