“Had an amazing dining experience at Liu Yishou Hotpot! The restaurant is clean and comfortable, the ingredients are fresh, and the broth is rich and flavorful. Special thanks to Sasha and Wency for their attentive and friendly service — they really made our meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!“

“This is a rice noodle restaurant, an extension from the original one at Midland/McNicolle. The noodles comes so quickly thus their name is Shi Miao Do (十秒到- come in ten seconds). The refill is FOC but you need to order your own bowl. Good food quality as always.“

“I recently dined at this amazing hot pot restaurant and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for gathering with friends. The broth was rich and flavorful, offering both spicy and mild options. The ingredients were fresh, especially the thinly sliced beef and crisp vegetables. I loved the variety of dipping sauces that added so much taste to every bite. The service was attentive and friendly, making sure our table always had everything we needed. Overall, it was a delicious and memorable meal. I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys authentic hot pot.“

“Been coming for years and only now writing a review (I’m sorry). It’s just such a great mainstay of comfort dishes. Regular orders include shredded pork with coriander and chili (732, get with a hot bowl of rice!) and onion pancake roll w sliced beef (120, gives Peking duck vibes). Go-to dumplings is classic pork & chive for me.
PS mom and dad were skeptical when I ordered 732 and then couldn’t stop commenting how flavourful it was 💖“

“The Hakka restaurants on Richmond Hill are all fast closing down or gone so it was a surprise to find this one still functioning. It’s only take out now and it is run by an old charming Chinese couple so there is a wait time. But the food is tasty and authentic and not too bad on your wallet. So cheers and hope this one stays for some time. I ordered Cantonese Chow mein, Ginger Beef and Sweet corn chicken soup. The beef and the soup are delicious 🎶🎶“

“Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Canada. There's always a fresh catch of the day of delicious seafood 🤤 Honestly, I've been to hundreds if not thousands of restaurants and there isn't a single item off the menu that me and my guests have not enjoyed. Anna is super hospitality and treat us like family 💗 Highly recommend if you haven't given it a try already“

“Hidden in a mall that’s almost abandoned, and this kitchen feels like the only thing that is attracting customers. Fast, reasonable priced, and tasty Chinese fast food. Portions are huge too. Busy on weekend nights. Recommend to call ahead before pick up.“

“Came to Starchiva Cuisine (星芝華私廚) for a family lunch and had an enjoyable experience.
The restaurant offers an interesting menu, comprising of some authentic, traditional, and hard-to-find Cantonese gems made the dish selection an interesting, fun, and challenging process.
The space was comfortable even for a relatively large group, with well-spaced tables that made the meal feel relaxed and unhurried. Service was polite and attentive throughout.
Starchiva’s dim sum selection was delicious and well balanced, never overly oily or salty. The rice hand rolls, or cheung fun (手拉腸粉), were lightly rolled and delicately wrapped with just the right amount of condiments.
The standout dessert was the brown sugar honeycomb cake (黑糖蜂巢糕)—light, airy, chewy, and honeycomb-like texture, and paired especially well with the rich, smooth Hong Kong milk tea/stocking milk-tea (港式奶茶) taking one to Hong Kong Cha Chaan Teng (cafes).
Overall, a pleasant dinning spot for family or group gatherings, offering well-prepared/presented food, clean and comfortable seating, and attentive service.“

“I drove 8 hours from Chicago and had my first dinner here. The food didn’t disappoint me. The Cantonese dishes are very authentic and delicious, and staff are friendly. Don’t forget to make a reservation before coming. Otherwise wait time could be long during rush hours“

“My go-to spot for authentic Cantonese dishes. Portions are generous, pricing is fair, and the food doesn’t have that heavy MSG taste you get at other places — I never feel overly thirsty after eating here. The place is consistently packed, especially on weekends, which tells you everything you need to know about its quality.“

“Failsafe malatang place that I keep going back every time I try new malatang places. MalaTown is a small business and their broth and sauce warms your heart and soul. It hits the spot every time.
You select the ingredients you want and you can customize the spice level, the numbness level, add/remove green onion, garlic and/or cilantro.
If your total order is over $25, you get a free drink and there is a wide variety of drinks!“

“Egg drop soup 5/5 very rich broth taste and fresh veggies
Taos general chicken 5/5 very good but could be a little bit more juicy
Chicken fried rice 5/5
Steamed dumplings 3/5, weird filling, and they all got stuck to each other
Egg roll is 4/5 just not a big fun of the dish, but it was flavorful
Service is top notch! The owner is a very lovely chinese lady, the cooking area looks very clean too, everything is in order.
Overall it’s a very good local spot for chinese craving, will come back for sure.“

“Located near Hwy7 & Bayview, Hu Tu Lou showcases a fusion of Sichuan and homestyle Chinese flavors across its diverse menu. The Spicy Fish and Pork Intestine Soup (Shuizhu style) employs hot oil infusion with chili and Sichuan peppercorns, creating a layered piquancy. The Tomato and Egg Stir-Fry balances protein coagulation and tomato pectin release for a tangy, comforting taste. Stir-Fried Pork Shreds with Dried Bean Curd highlights the bean product’s porous structure, readily absorbing spicy sauce. The Cumin Lamb capitalizes on the aromatic synergy between lamb fat and cumin’s volatile compounds. Sizzling Black Pepper Beef locks in juices on a scorching iron plate, emphasizing tenderness and savory depth. Lastly, the Quick-Fried Pork Kidney depends on precise knife skills and high-heat stir-frying to retain its crisp texture and meld with spicy elements.“

“This is a very casual, low-key place, perfect for lunch! I tried their braised pork belly with preserved mustard green on rice and sea coconut partridge soup. Both outstanding! Hot and flavourful! They also have a new Thai menu. I will definitely go back to try their Singapore hainanese chicken on rice. They take credit cards. Plenty of parking!“

“Such an underrated spot for lunch. First time coming here since I usually go next door to Cha Kee, but this place really surprised me. I ordered the daily set #7, the tender pork with truffle scrambled egg, and it was unbelievably good. The pork was sweet and tangy with a strong charcoal-grilled flavor, and the truffle scrambled egg was simple but done perfectly. Honestly, overall it’s even better than the place next door.“

“A busy joint!
My friend suggested this place for hot pot and we met up for dinner one night on my recent trip to Toronto. I am so glad we tried this joint.
We ordered the Fried Tofu Skin With Fish Paste along with the House Special White Pepper Chicken and Pork Stomach Hotpot. Very tasty soup base indeed. We also got the Salted Fish With Minced Pork Clay Pot Rice. Delicious meal and it was a lot of food for us but we really enjoyed“

“MENU is attached.
Originated from China in 2011, there’s now 8 locations across the GTA. At this location, it’s 2 eateries in 1 location. Yang’s Braised Chicken Rice and Yunshang Rice Noodle.
You order by scanning the QR code on the table. We ordered directly with the waitress instead. They provided us with a glass of complimentary tea, chopsticks, spoon and a napkin.
We ordered the Braised Chicken (boneless) and Braised Beef with noodles. Both were delicious. You can change the level of chilli heat if you wish. We ordered no spicy. The Chicken comes with bone in or boneless. If you want more toppings or vegetables, you can pay extra.
If you are a frequent guest to this establishment, it’s best to pay an one time fee to become a VIP member. Ask them for more information.
The food in general came out at a decent time. It got crowded as we were leaving.
You pay by approaching the Cashier at the back of the restaurant and stating your table number. BTW, they only accept debit card and cash.
They do takeouts.
Parking: Lots of parking spaces but can get busy since it’s close to an after school program for kids.
Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs for kids to use.
Wheelchair accessibility: No push / no wave button to automatically open the double doors.“
“We hosted a small wedding event last Sunday at Zunyan Restaurant in Richmond Hill, with a good experience.
Manager Yan is a nice, patient lady. She was helpful and attentive to the details of our wedding banquet planning.
The room is clean, quiet, organized, modern, spacious, with good surrounding sound system, entertainment device, sound proof walls and en-suite bathroom.
The food quality exceeded our expectations as compared to some of the previous reviews. The food is unique with fusion style options, seafood is fresh and delicious. The server, Elyn is nice. She was helpful, attentive to our requests.
Overall, we are very pleased with our choice of this venue for the wedding event.“

“It was strange, the dishes I ordered (spaghetti bolognese and iced lemon tea) were really delicious, but my bf got Portuguese chicken and iced ying yuen and he said they both tasted weird/not normal. The Portuguese chicken contained pineapple which was unexpected, and he said the ying yuen just didn't taste that good compared to what he's had before. I agree that there really shouldn't be pineapple in Portuguese chicken, but I can't confirm whether it tasted bad or not; I guess if you love pineapple you might enjoy it. They also give a starter soup, and we were given the corn soup, and that was super yummy. Overall it was an average experience for an HK cafe, and depending on what you get it can be a hit or miss.“

“Overall simple to the point, Chinese takeout. Portion size was good in the all in one combo. Lots of noodles and chicken and vegetables. Noodles were a bit under seasoned and the chicken was mostly sweet but that’s kind of the experience I want/crave with simple Chinese takeout. I’ll be back.“

“A hole in the wall. The food was delicious! Super small restaurant and everything is in Chinese. You can request for an English menu but I feel like it doesn’t show everything listed in the Chinese menu. They have a vip card that you can purchase for $20 which gives you discounts on each of the dishes. The servers were nice and tried to explain things to the best of their abilities.“

“Welcome this new restaurant in Richmond Hill / Markham area. The food is nice (and can be less salty). The price is reasonable. The attendants are also friendly, diligent and attentive.
It will be a bonus if Hong Kong style milk tea will be available!
Anyway, a delightful and delicious experience with this kitchen.“

“Always a great spot for lunch and economical. Every time I go, there is a constant stream of people that come in for both dining and takeout. It is a family runned restaurant with limited staff, so the service is quite slow when it’s busy.
The food is always hot and tasty. The lunch specials are $8.75 or $9.75 and from 11am to 5pm everyday. It’s a great value!
I have also included another picture of what other dishes are available at this restaurant, but I don’t have pricing for those.“

“Great location for people on the north side of Markham. Quality rivals long time well established restaurants and their variety is amazing. Everything from rice rolls to simply a stir fried beef rice noodle, to even spare ribs, they’re all full of flavour and always tender. Strongly recommend for everyone around cathedral town or near that area!“

“I had dim sum here with friends yesterday. The dim sum was good and had a strong wok hei (that smoky, stir-fried aroma).
The red rice noodle rolls had a chewy outer layer, a crispy middle, and tender shrimp filling.
The stir-fried rice noodle rolls were savory and fresh, but if you’re not used to the taste of shrimp paste, avoid it.
The curry baby squid was also very good—the curry flavor was authentic, and the squid was thick, meaty, and substantial.
The waiting time wasn’t too long.
One more thing to note: it’s best to park behind the building, which is closer to the restaurant entrance. Don’t park on side facing the Hwy 7—you’ll need to make a detour.“

“Had the roast and BBQ pork. This is to die for. It's busy at lunch time for good reason.. people drive from far away to get here for this.. even the rice has a special taste. And prices.. a double dish cost me 13.. and I can not eat it all.. so many other foods as well chicken duck. You just have to come.. cash only.. but we'll worth the wait.. show up early. 11 am you order and wait.. at 12 you are waiting out the door.. its that good.. it will not disappoint“

“Tried this restaurant on a whim.
The food was really delicious. Ordered chicken balls, spicy chicken wings and fried rice.
The spicy chicken wings had really good flavor, however a bit greasy. The chicken balls with the sauce hit. And the chicken fried rice was salty, but I prefer my friend rice that way.
The person who took my order was so friendly. He came out of his way to come to the front door and hand me the food when it was finished.
It has huge portions and easily could share food with 5 people for dinner for the 3 dishes I ordered.“

“We ordered the set menu for two for lunch today. It was listed with a fish soup, a Baozai Fan, a mixed vegetables with mushroom and lotus root, plus a desert.
The portion of all three dishes was just right for two and I wonder if they have been adjusted to accommodate the menu. But at the end when we called for bill, we were not asked for desert (it’s listed in the set menu). And I only remembered it now when I am writing the review that we weren’t given deserts 😂 and that’s why I give 3* for service. And it wasn’t busy at all (3 -4 tables of two and a solo table)the time so I don’t know why it was ignored or forgotten by them.
In general, it’s a nice place to dine in our neighbourhood. I would recommend everyone to check all menu items before bills. 😂“

“Pretty good dimsum, plump, plentiful, quality ingredients, prepared well, and tasty. The back rooms were quiet and I liked it over the main dining area because my family and I could actually chat without needing to raise our voices. But fair warning, the back rooms are also quite chilly, the heat / hvac is a bit inadequate back there. Also, service is slow back there, the staff don’t visit often, and when they do they won’t check in on how you’re doing, so make sure you order everything you need up front. You may need to get your own utensils if you’re missing any. The tea was served weak. When asked for more leaves they gave too much, almost as if in insult. It’s interesting to see a private karaoke setup in the back room. It’s likely rentable for private parties.“
