I’ve seen some negative comments lately, which made me a bit sad because our experience has been completely different. We’ve enjoyed the food so much that we actually ordered from here three days in a row. The sashimi, sushi, and rolls have always been super fresh, and the prices are very affordable.“

“The food was good & I liked how the servers located guests to have some space between each other, many sushi places pack people into one section. The sushi, sweet potato tempura & eggplant dishes were all good. They didn’t offer any sauce for the cheese wonton which would have enhanced it. The steak teriyaki needs salt & to be either a better cut or not cooked so well done. They didn’t offer any kind of fried chicken for lunch which was a first. Not sure what the dinner menu is like but intrigued if it has great quality sashimi & other items, if anyone knows please update me. Smaller ish place so many conversations travelled which some might enjoy but I was happier for a more peaceful experience. I would go back!“

“Selected the Chef's counter seating for the Kaiseki style 9 course Omakase menu. It did not disappoint. The food was artistically presented and tasted even better than it looked. Chef was very engaging, soliciting feedback from clients. Staff were very knowledgeable and service(serving/clearing plates, refilling cups) was executed very efficiently and un obtrusively. Plan to return with friends. A very enjoyable evening.“

“We came because you have good reviews. We found out that Gyu Hito is an amazing go-to-place for delicious Japanese AYCE BBQ! The restaurant has a modern feel to it and the staff is incredibly attentive to our food needs. Such good service! The food itself is so tasty (so many different types of seasoned meats) and there are many yummy sides you can order as well! The most thing I like is the fruit tea, best combination with BBQ. Dessert is also something to look forward to because you can choose your favourite Melona popsicle and have it with a sweet creme brule dessert!“

Appetizers full of omami flavour; sashimi tasted very fresh and well prepared - favourite piece for me would be the Madai; sushi very well prepared - rice flavour well balanced, each pieces is paired with its unique sauce and spice. “I absolutely love! One of my favorite places to eat in GTA. I've been many times already, and the food is consistently great. My young children clean their plates. Personally, I think about some day ordering everything on the menu and eating a bit of everything at once. That moment would be so euphoric! Whatever is left over I'd take home and since their take home containers are microwave friendly; it's just happiness. Next day, still amazing!“

Only downside is it's rather expensive (XL room is $90 per hour, minimum $15 spend per person on weekends). “Visited here yesterday for dinner. We ate until our hearts were content 😃 We tried several rolls and they were all great...the deep fried ones are good too. Tired the chicken skewers, salmon teriyaki, tempura, beef ribs all tasty. Tried the 3 different cakes and other sweets all lovely. Buffet was $38 a person. The bubble tea was extra but the guy took that off our order since we didn't know. Overall service was quick, food was fresh and all tasted great.“

“My favourite omakase in Toronto!!! The menu’s variety — you get many textures, flavours, cooking styles (grilled, raw, broiled, tempura, rice etc.). That keeps things interesting. Kappo Sato feels like a restaurant where love for Japanese food and craft really shows. Really love this place❤️“

“We love this sushi spot! Every order is fresh, beautifully packaged, and you can really taste the care and passion in every bite. We order here often—as you can see from the collection of photos I’ve amassed—and I can honestly say they’ve been consistent every single time. Their wasabi is made fresh, just like their sushi.

Our daughter has been eating sashimi since she was two, and I’ve never had any concerns about the quality of the fish from this place. Her absolute favorite is the salmon ikura don, and she also loves the little octopus in one of the Inari pockets. We order so often that they even know our usual takeout (D2 and S5, with the occasional Inari Gunkan), and they recognize it instantly when my husband calls in. We’ve dined in a couple of times as well, and the staff are so friendly and warm that we felt right at home.

After a long week, it’s our go-to Friday treat. It’s always a joy to bring their sushi home, and it feels like a little bit of love is packed into every box.“

“The space is clean, warm, and intimate without feeling tight. Service was gentle and attentive (and very sweet about remembering no green onions for me 🥹).

Each piece of sushi tasted fresh and consistently good, with nothing trying too hard. No heavy sauces to mask freshness, no aggressive vinegar and just well-balance. You can really taste the freshness and creaminess of each piece. I also loved that they serve two types of ginger, each doing its job to reset the palate properly.

The chef was generous with off-menu recommendations and took the time to explain where each piece was from and how regions differ. We tried puffer fish milt for the first time, and the way it was prepared and seasoned made it surprisingly enjoyable. It's rich, delicate, and comforting rather than intimidating. I guess Japanese marshmallow is a suiting name.

All things considered, this felt like a very affordable omakase experience for the level of freshness, friendliness, and space. Quietly excellent, thoughtfully done, and definitely a place I’d return to.“

“Truly our favourite Japanese sushi restaurant in Toronto, and possibly in Canada. It’s the combination of the quality of food and attentiveness by staff that move this restaurant well above others. Don’t let the “look” of the restaurant fool you - it’s outstanding and locals agree. The ingredients are always outstanding. Say hi to Chef Jiharu if you’re there. It’s a small restaurant so reservations are a must.“

“Update: We recently came back to try their Silver Wagyu menu and really enjoyed it. The marbling on the meats were great and the flavour really came through when we put them on the grill. Loved the Australia M9 toro beef, U.S. Gold Grade brisket short rib, and the fresh seasonal scallops they just added to the menu. Shout out to Steven who was really attentive all night!

We got their AYCE Black menu and all the meats were well-seasoned, tender and delicious. Our favourites are the miso beef, garlic beef brisket, prime kalbi and pork toro. They also had a new summer menu - the beer-battered cod was SO good. Staff were friendly and very attentive. No wait on a Monday night, restaurant was about 80% full!“

“Kenji Sushi in King City is an absolute gem. The quality and care they put into every dish truly sets them apart.

The hand rolls are exceptional: Fresh, generous, and perfectly balanced. The torched oshi sushi was especially memorable: rich and, flavourful, and executed well. We were also pleasantly surprised that their party trays include oshi sushi, which was a refreshing and welcome change from the typical selections you see elsewhere.

Service was outstanding from start to finish. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and are already looking forward to returning.“
