On this occasion, my sisters and I wanted to celebrate the fact that all our birthdays happen to be in August. Farhad, our server, was a delight and it was our collective joy to discover that we all hail from Bombay. The perfect recommendations for wine to go with our food selections. The stand-outs - spaghetti with duck, fennel and parm, the scallop crudo with chicken fat, shrimp toast, caraflex (perfection) and the blueberry galette with corn ice cream.
Farhad brought us an extra strawberry gelato so we would have three desserts, each with a candle. And a special glass of amaro as a post-dinner digestif.
Exceptional food (and great value!!) that just makes you happy to be out on a late summer’s evening and service that makes you want to come back, again and again. Grey Gardens, you will always be famous (to me).“

“For our first night in Toronto for a girls' trip, we had dinner at Chubby's given the good reviews and me mentioning wanting to try the various Caribbean spots during our stay. The decor gives island vibes with the wooden furniture and tranquil color choice for decor. Staff were all pretty helpful, with you waiter being pretty attentive.

For my drink, I ordered the rum punch which was pretty good in the balance of flavorand alcohol content. In terms of food, the portions for my entree (Oxtail Stew) was a little smaller than I thought but or actually worked out well and was enough. The oxtail was cooked down, well seasoned and tender, but I felt like I got a lot of pieces that were just bone or pretty fatty. The other food/Likkle bites I ordered to share with one of my friends were also very good. The Pepper Shrimp definitely had a heavy kick of spice to it and tasty. I really enjoyed the Saltfish (Cod) Fritters - they were tasty, had a good chutney to go with it. The plantains were cooked perfectly so that they stayed soft.

All in all, we had a good dining experience.“

The other customers are generally not respectful of the neighborhood in the way that they take up the whole sidewalk and often force elderly people and people with baby carriages to walk in the street. “We had a wonderful time at Antler this past Saturday while celebrating a milestone birthday. From the very beginning, the staff was incredibly accommodating, handling all the logistics seamlessly and making the planning process easy and stress-free. The food was outstanding—creative, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Service was prompt, attentive, and warm, which added a special touch to the evening.

Our only minor wish was that our two tables had been placed closer together, or that we had a clearer idea of the distance between them beforehand, as it left the group feeling slightly divided.

“We visited seven lives tacos for the first time this weekend in Kensington. The lineup was huge, and they only have standing areas—probably to keep turnover high—so there’s no chance to sit and eat inside,just stand and go.

The tacos themselves are really delicious, but the way the sauces were listed was confusing. We couldn’t tell which ones were hot, and ended up with a super spicy sauce that overwhelmed our tacos. Clearer labeling would really help.

One downside is that they don’t serve beer or margaritas—just soft drinks like Coke and Fanta. I think tacos pair better with a beer or cocktail.

Overall, tasty tacos, but a few improvements could make the experience much better.“

“Well what a great lunch we just had. A delicious dozen East coast oysters. French Kiss and Lucky Lime. plump and tasty with a smack of brine. Very nice selection of condiments. Two glasses of super tasty French Chablis followed up by Haddock tacos and the Blackened haddock burger. delicious fries to compliment the dish. I was hoping to be able to meet Rob Rossi but I didn't just meet him, he was aware of our celebration and he took the time to come and great us .....I am a foodie so I was truly star struck. David Minicucci went above and beyond getting us a perfect table and ensuring we had a wonderful celebration. Thank you all at Ostaria Giulia from the chefs to servers and bar tender and the wonderful sommelier who suggested the perfect wine. We had an amazing time that I will remember forever. BRAVO!!!!!“

Tutti Matti is a great place to share a meal & wine “Italian Family Style” … “Stile Familiare Italiano”. The food looks & tastes amazingly authentic Italian in the City of Toronto. A delicious way to enjoy a bit of everything. Did someone say homemade pasta and/or gnocchi?! Definitely will be back & will add some pics of the food.
