“Another one of those stay-light-before-the-movie meals, and we decided to check out Kore Chicken nearby. We went for the lunch special and tried Original, Soy Garlic, and Spicy Butter Chicken, with fries tossed in Honey Butter seasoning for one of the sets.
I had no idea what to expect walking in, and was honestly surprised to learn they use air fryers here. Now, taste-wise, let's be real. I’ve had better fried chicken elsewhere and yes, there are spots that push a bit more in quality. But here's the catch: at this price point, it’s rather impossible to complain. Sure, the sauce toss was lazy, and a few bites were a bit on the funky-smelling side, but it all somehow landed within the range of “worth it.”
Fries were a lot crispier than expected, and so was the batter. Air fried or not, the texture really surprised me. It’s weirdly satisfying. Getting into the place was also a bit awkward for a first-timer, but I’ll chalk that up to the building’s layout, not the restaurant’s fault.
Overall, it’s one of those spots that feels like a random find, and turns out a lot better than you gave it credit for at first. No complaints here, and honestly hope they stick around. I wouldn’t mind coming back when craving something easy and affordable that still hits the spot!“

We got the rabokki and it was delicious! When ordering, we can choose the spiciness level: no spicy, less spicy, or more spicy. I was confused about how spicy is more spicy so went with the less spicy choice, but if you want the standard spiciness of rabokki in Korea, then go for the more spicy. Absolutely love the side dishes they give too! The kimchi is amazing!!

Came w/ a large group of friends after a saturday badminton session.

You have to kinda enter from a sketchy back entrance. The server wasn't the friendliest but she was prompt when we needed her which was good.

The portion sizes are nice and big. They have pork bone soup which uses the traditional spine of the pig but they also have pork and pork ribs soup (which they're always sold out of .... sad face). You can get your gamjatang w/ noodles though which is cool.

I liked the flavour of the supreme chicken but it's a shame that the chicken wasn't that crispy. I say this with all honesty. The chicken was slightly overcooked because while the meat wasn't dry, it certainly wasn't juicy either. The taste was on point though.

4 stars overall (5 if the chicken had been crispy).

Will be back for sure because of those huge portions!“

In addition to hot pot, they do have Korean fried chicken for those who opt out for soups.
Their service is friendly and efficient.
We took a shareable hotpot $45 Yukgaejang (Korea spicy beef, with vegetables) this dish is served with two bowls of purple rice and along with the usual Korean side dishes that comes with it.“

“I will recommend this restaurant to my friends, first it’s actually ran by Korean people ❤️, second they are truly attentive (the girl notice we were putting the empty side dishes away and she came right up to check if we wanted more. We felt very comfortable eating there), third their food is good, and serving time is also very good . We waited for about 5 minutes after our order, our food was brought to us one after one.

The only thing I noticed is it’s a bit dark in it. And it could be my aged eyes 👀 as well.

“I’ve been to Mapo Gamjatang many times, and it continues to be one of my top spots for gamjatang. They offer several variations of the dish, and no matter which one I order, the broth is always rich and flavorful, and the meat is so tender it practically falls off the bone. They are also generous with the portions, the staff are friendly, and the service is quick. I highly recommend coming here!“

🌶 not really spicy but you can taste the jalapeno flavor regardless so it was enjoyable

🍗 I personally liked that the sauce was separated from the fried chicken because it helped to keep the chicken crispier for longer

“I heard about this new place from a friend and had to give it a try. When I parked where Google Maps directed me, I wasn't sure if I was in the right spot ---- it's at the back of an industrial building, near some truck unloading docks.
But then I saw a sign saying "Please come in" and decided to take a leap of faith. I wasn't disappointed!
* Fried Chicken Sandwich - $7.77: I chose the honeyed soy garlic flavour. The egg brioche bun was perfectly soft and flavourful, and I appreciated how the pressed crust held everything together. The toppings were generous, and the chicken was juicy.
* Fried Chicken Poutine - $8.88 (250g, snack size): I went with the "cheezy cheese" option, and it was indeed very cheesy! They didn't skimp on the seasoning, and the poutine cheese curds had a great pull. Loved it!
* Boneless Fried Chicken - $9.99 (250g, snack size): I chose the spicy yangnyeom sauce, which had a nice kick.
Just a small note -- I'd prefer if the boneless chicken pieces were about half the size, especially as a poutine topping.
The prices are fair, and the flavours are absolutely delicious. Piping hot fried chicken takes time, so there is a slight wait, which I did not mind at all.

It was pretty quiet on Christmas evening, but service was lacking and slow.

We got the hot pot gamjatang (pork bone and potato soup) and kampungki (fried boneless chicken with sweet and sour sauce). This was a good portion for 4 people, both were so delicious. The gamjatang came with two bowls of purple rice. My only complaint was the side dishes were very mediocre/small and it took a long time to refill them.

Overall it's a solid, affordable choice.“

“The king size dumplings are super tasty and the kimichi tastes super fresh. Highly recommend in term of the quality of the food and the dumplings are about $1-2 dollars cheaper than the other one. It tastes not as salty than the others nearby but its not as big (that has terrible customer service) that sells the same thing. Update: just went into the store in person to check out the place today. The server who greeted me had NO customer service. After I ordered she kicked me out of the store to stand in the cold for 10 mins to wait for the food...and there was only her and the cook and no other customer in the store. I have also ordered their homemade kimichi as a side and it is such a small bowl but more expensive than the other korean restaurant (theirs small kimichi is $3 bucks) nearby who served similar food....hmmmmmm worth to give it a try but the customer service will keep me from going into the store for a bit. “We were there on a Saturday night. The plaza had plenty of parking available. We ordered raw crabs, a seafood pancake, pork belly and 2 other soups. I didn't try the raw crabs but my family said they were yummy but just a bit too much soy sauce in them. They were better to eat with white rice. The seafood pancake was excellent. The pork belly was dry and hard and they didn't bring us dipping sauce. The soups were normal. Side dishes were pretty good. Service was okay.“
