“A solid 4.5 local fine dining with great food and service.
It's my go to place when I want fresh oysters and good quality food. I'm a regular (so I forgot to take a picture of the soups).
The price is very affordable so I always come here for a main course and you get a complimentary soup (French onion or Lobster bisque) or salad. I always get the soup and it's always good.

Foie gras is always super tasty and cooked to perfection. Price is decent I think $20? for one order (has two pieces which is perfect for two people to share)
Oysters are always very fresh.

The duck, however, wasn't very good. I ordered it many years ago and it used to be better. But it wasn't good with my most recent two visits. I find the duck breast too big and the quality of the raw ingredient (the duck) wasn't good, feels like it's not tender enough and not juicy, so it was hard to chew (I tried to order medium rare and medium and both times are good so it's not the cooking, I think it's the quality of the duck itself).

Other dishes I would also recommend:

- seafood rice
- chicken supreme
- Berkshire pork steak

I'm a regular here and I will come back whenever I need a quick fine dinner that doesn't cost a fortune.“

I’m honestly surprised by some of the negative reviews because our experience was really good.
The service was exactly what I expected — and honestly, one of the things I love about authentic Chinese restaurants is that they let you enjoy your meal without constant check-ins. When I needed more hot water for my teapot, I just signaled the first server I saw, and they took care of it right away.

“We celebrated our son’s 25th birthday at Fishman’s Lobster House (our 5th visit) and had another excellent experience. The server was extremely helpful in recommending the right combo for our two tables, making the ordering process easy and stress-free. The serving staff and management were kind, patient, and attentive throughout.

We were pleasantly surprised by the birthday discount, and truly appreciated management catching and returning an overpayment I had made — an honest and thoughtful gesture.

The new steak addition was perfectly prepared and delicious. To make the celebration even more special, they played Happy Birthday over the speakers and offered to help cut and serve the cake. Everyone left full and satisfied.

From the moment we sat down, the staff were welcoming, attentive, and super patient — exactly what you hope for when dining with a big family. The dishes came out hot, flavourful, and beautifully portioned. Every plate tasted like real home-style comfort done right.

It’s not easy to please everyone in a multigenerational group, but Full Yuan nailed it. Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and service that made the whole celebration feel extra special.

“I've been to Yu Seafood Yorkdale several times. An upscaled restaurant near all the high-end retailers. I bought my nephew here during his business trip and everything is good, and the bill was paid without going through the details. Not until I got home and found out one of the dishes was missed out from the dinner set for six. I called the restaurant the next day and the general manager Neilson responded promptly. It could be a human error and promised to compensate on my next visit. Having said that Yu is a great place to enjoy dinner or lunch despite of the mistake they have made on my last visit.“

“One of the cleanest washrooms I’ve ever seen in a restaurant, which immediately stood out. The milky broths are rich, fragrant, and very comforting. I especially loved the coconut milk broth. The desserts were also great, and it was a nice surprise to see matcha ice cream on tap. They’ve now switched to an all-you-can-eat format instead of ordering items separately like before, which makes the experience even better. Rude staff and an even more rude owner... don't bother complaining about anything because you're just going to get cussed at... absolutely appalling behavior... the usual crowd are loud obnoxious and seriously over their limits. I've witnessed tables and chairs falling all over the place on many occasions because people are way too intoxicated to think. The owner acts like he's untouchable and says things like " you're in a bar what do you expect " . I expect to be treated as a paying customer. Never going there again. also... one of the servers is literally always drunk out of her mind... my very first visit she was crying about her ex... and almost every time I ordered wings SHE GOT MY ORDER WRONG....over and over again!! let's just say ive had many free wings and stuff from her as an apology... I gave them a chance. several actually. but after that conversation with the owner.... im done. DO NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!“

Parking is a bit tricky. We parked at the back as some businesses were closed during the weekends so we parked there, but I would be careful during working business hours.“

“Haven’t had fish & chips in a long time and the folks at this shop satisfied my cravings. Found in a small, unassuming plaza, this family-owned business is slinging out perfectly fried fish and spuds.

The folks who run this establishment are very welcoming and make you feel at home. The atmosphere here is nostalgic. It feels like I’m in my family’s kitchen from my childhood.

I ordered the halibut and chips for myself, got cod and chips for my brother, and we shared a calamari and gravy. Food was pretty good. Fish tasted buttery and delicate. Batter was thin, crispy, and flavourful. NOT overly greasy, major news! Loved the thick cut fries. The gravy really took them to the next level. Portion sizes are pretty big and these prices are insanely reasonable!

I highly recommend McCowan Fish & Chips; support small businesses! One if my favourite spots in Scarbs now. I will be back!“

“My friends and I have now been going to Gabby's for quite a few times, maybe about 6 by now, usually on Sundays. The last couple of times have been on a Friday and Monday. We are mostly handicapped, using walkers or a wheelchair. I usually make the reservation, and specify a table near the lovely large windows. It has never been a problem on Sundays, but there seems to be one waitress who objects to our sitting near the window as we will "block" the servers. It is difficult enough being handicapped never mind having a surly woman telling us we are a problem. So, maybe this woman doesn't work on Sundays. We love this restaurant and the food and atmosphere is so great, usually. Most disappointing.“
