“A solid 4.5 local fine dining with great food and service.
It's my go to place when I want fresh oysters and good quality food. I'm a regular (so I forgot to take a picture of the soups).
The price is very affordable so I always come here for a main course and you get a complimentary soup (French onion or Lobster bisque) or salad. I always get the soup and it's always good.

Foie gras is always super tasty and cooked to perfection. Price is decent I think $20? for one order (has two pieces which is perfect for two people to share)
Oysters are always very fresh.

The duck, however, wasn't very good. I ordered it many years ago and it used to be better. But it wasn't good with my most recent two visits. I find the duck breast too big and the quality of the raw ingredient (the duck) wasn't good, feels like it's not tender enough and not juicy, so it was hard to chew (I tried to order medium rare and medium and both times are good so it's not the cooking, I think it's the quality of the duck itself).

- Berkshire pork steak

I'm a regular here and I will come back whenever I need a quick fine dinner that doesn't cost a fortune.“

“Dim sum with more innovative options, surprisingly no egg tarts so we had layered papaya cake for dessert instead. We tried shrimp dumplings with chives and pomegranate but didn't taste pomegranate. There are the usual classics like har gow, rice rolls, etc. For three people with tax and tip, we had about 7 dishes, $60 on a weekend.“

“We ordered the $299 set menu for 5 people.

1. Soup of the Day (Chicken Soup) – Light and comforting start, clean flavors.

2. Lobster in Hong Kong Style (5 lb) – Super fresh, meaty, and flavorful. Definitely the highlight of the meal.

3. Dry-Aged AAA Canadian Ribeye (16 oz, aged 20+ days) – Tender, juicy, with rich beefy flavor. A nice surf-and-turf touch.

4. Steamed Sea Bass – Perfectly cooked, delicate and tender with classic soy, ginger, and scallion sauce.

5. Snow Pea Tips with King Mushrooms – Fresh and balanced, the mushrooms added a nice earthy taste.

6. Dessert: Mango Pudding – Light, creamy, and refreshing way to finish.

✨ We also added Golden Abalone with Snow Pea Leaves (not in the set) – a luxurious dish, tender abalone with rich sauce.

“I've been to Yu Seafood Yorkdale several times. An upscaled restaurant near all the high-end retailers. I bought my nephew here during his business trip and everything is good, and the bill was paid without going through the details. Not until I got home and found out one of the dishes was missed out from the dinner set for six. I called the restaurant the next day and the general manager Neilson responded promptly. It could be a human error and promised to compensate on my next visit. Having said that Yu is a great place to enjoy dinner or lunch despite of the mistake they have made on my last visit.“

“By far my favourite Chinese Hakka spot in the GTA. The food and service are consistently excellent every time I visit. Quality, taste, and portions have never changed. “Highest end hot pot I've ever tried. The Tom Yum and coconut soup bases were delicious.

There was a great variety of desserts both delicious and visually appealing, especially the coconut bunny!

There were 6 of us dining, and we ordered 3 of the combo for 2. It was way too much food! Don't be fooled by the unlimited beef and lamb bonus if you order this combo in an amount that equals your party size. We did not come close to eating everything and needing a refill.

One of the more experienced diners at our table said that this was the most expensive hot pot she had ever had, but it was also the fanciest.

The only good add-on we had was one serving of udon to add to the soup, and we really had enough food to have fed 2 more adults.

Including tax and tip, it was just more than $50 each.“

“Edit: visited the restaurant again recently. All we ordered is still pretty good, except the deep fried foods. Wu Gok and Ham Sui Gok were tasteless, extremely oily, and deformed. Oil leaked to the table cloth from tissue 🤮. Not presentable and edible. Sesame ball was sugary and overly sweet. Reduced 1 star.

This restaurant is spacious, modern, and relaxing. Dimsum price is reasonable and comparable to other regular dimsum places around the area. Service is friendly and attentive. Tea pots were never left empty without hot water. Extra hot water pot was offered without being asked. One of the waiters asked twice to make sure I had enough food containers for leftovers. Overall, the foods I ordered were pretty good, other than the following... Hagao's skin and rice roll were too soft. Daan tat (egg tart) shell was way too thick and it did not have enough custard filling. As a bonus, a heated jar was provided to keep tea hot and not over-brewed in the tea pots.“

The restaurant opened last year, and this was our first time there. After seeing so many great reviews online, we decided to check it out. We were greeted right away and seated where we preferred. Our server, Sarah, was wonderful—friendly, attentive, and helpful in guiding us with our drink choices. Between the four of us, we ordered: Chicken wings with fries Onion rings Garlic bread Buffalo chicken wrap with fries Braised beef stone-fired pizza Everyone agreed the food was excellent. I had the pizza, and it was sensational—the beef was tender and perfectly portioned, pairing beautifully with the onions and mushrooms. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, whether you’re enjoying a meal on the patio, dining indoors, or sitting at the bar surrounded by plenty of TVs. Service was impeccable. The washrooms were very clean, though they are located in the basement. If you’ve had a few drinks, you might prefer the accessible washroom on the main floor, as the stairs are steep. “Overall the food was delicious. We got two combos (5 dishes per combo) for $59 each and ordered two different kinds of noodles and squid tentacles. The pork chops, ribs, squid, seafood chow mein, and squid were yummy. The soup was bland. The server was a bit brash and was quick to clear out plates; however, she was attentive in checking to make sure we always had hot tea and brought out clean plates periodically.“

“Arguably the best steak I've ever had in my life. And I’ve been to several upscale steakhouses where the bill was bigger than my bi-weekly paycheque for a party of 4 (fortunately, I didn’t have to foot the bill).

Ruth's is a bit pricier than The Keg, but the quality of the steak justifies the cost.

It was incredibly tender, perfectly seasoned and mouthwatering.

“My friends and I have now been going to Gabby's for quite a few times, maybe about 6 by now, usually on Sundays. The last couple of times have been on a Friday and Monday. We are mostly handicapped, using walkers or a wheelchair. I usually make the reservation, and specify a table near the lovely large windows. It has never been a problem on Sundays, but there seems to be one waitress who objects to our sitting near the window as we will "block" the servers. It is difficult enough being handicapped never mind having a surly woman telling us we are a problem. So, maybe this woman doesn't work on Sundays. We love this restaurant and the food and atmosphere is so great, usually. Most disappointing.“
