The food was delicious and well prepared. My favourite dish was the carbonara gnocchi and duck breast. I would’ve loved to give this place a 5 star but the service was not great considering we were the only ones at the restaurant. Every time a plate was brought to our table, the server would already be walking away, while describing the contents of the dish. When we would wave the server down to ask a question, he never fully stopped at our table and didn’t wait to see if we had any other questions. He just walked away. Overall, I would come back again since their menu changes seasonally and the food was extremely tasty.“

“We just came from Kona Sushi in Tecumseh. Our server was excellent. Dominica helped us navigate the menu and we chose the Golden Dragon and the Red Dragon roll. They were both excellent. Lovely decor. Our meal was promptly served. Dominica also made us a pitcher of Mojitos that were also excellent. I highly recommend Kona in Tecumseh.“

“I visited this past Valentine’s Day weekend and visited again this past Saturday night. I didn’t have a reservation but still got seated very quickly. It was a hot, muggy night and the hostess said she had a seat on the patio which I was fine with. I had a magnificent server, Florence, who was kind, thoughtful to recommend a drink to the person I was with and even when our drinks were brought out within a short time, apologized for the delay (which wasn’t necessary). I wish I could give a review on the party next to us because they were extremely rude, not only not giving consideration to others being on the patio but were also incredibly rude to Florence. One woman in particular was grandstanding in front of this group and demanded to speak to a manager. Florence and the Manager were both composed and dignified in spite of a rude patron that was looking to get her bill comped (for a party of nearly a dozen people) going so far as to threatening to have everyone at her table write a terrible review. I have worked in the service industry and so have so many people I know and love so this situation had me worked up and I felt it necessary to write a review that our experience was magnificent. Don’t be an a-hole to servers of any kind just because you’re an a-hole yourself. If you give respect, you get respect. Go to The Sugar House. Be a good customer.“

“We had a lovely time on the patio with our dog at this bar. We ordered margaritas (a jalapeño one and a guava one), guacamole appetizer, & a buffalo chicken wrap entree. Everything was delicious. My first jalapeño margarita had over 20 seeds in it and they were kind enough to remake it for me without any big deal about it. The service was fantastic and we truly enjoyed our time! “I always love the laid back atmosphere here. Gives you feelings of nostalgia. This use to be one of Detroits jumping spots back in the day. It is still nice to visit and see the old dance floor, pool table and beautiful bar maid. People are friendly, you can go against some really good pool players, and if you like dancing come through. Down Under is only FOUR minutes away from the TCF, walking. There is NO reason to ever get Starbucks again while I am in Detroit for Youmacon. “I have gone to the Whitney every year for Christmas dinner. It was annual holidays to celebrate with my nieces. Last Christmas holiday we chose to take the buffet. I was extremely disappointed. All I wanted was prime rib. The server was not very friendly. She stared at me and I was very uncomfortable when I asked for the prime rib only. There was just a small end piece and she gave me a very thin slice close resembling lunch meat. I don’t understand since I paid for a complete meal and it wasn’t cheap. I could’ve gone somewhere else and had a wonderful prime rib dinner. The au jous was not warm, so that was very disappointing. I will never do the buffet again if it’s like last year. In previous years, I’ve attended the buffet and it was outstanding.“

“My friend and I had lunch at Coriander Kitchen and Farm yesterday 6/23. We came back because we enjoyed our first visit last year so much! However, at this visit the food was not so good. I ordered fish and chips and my fish was overcooked and the french fries were not hot. My friend ordered smelt which were awful and greasy which we sent back. We asked for lemon which never came to the table and our waiter seem to be the only one there and they were busy so I don't think we got the attention that we were due. I know this establishment can do better, so I will be going back. But yesterday's service and food were awful.“
