“For my dad's birthday yesterday, I went with the whole family. The mongolian beef and kung pao shrimp that I had was delicious. The rice was freshly cooked and the soy sauce tasted good as well. We will be back next time, Even the water and tea was good and the service was very friendly. Never messed up our orders, will be back again:)Vegetarian options: The veggies are probably the only thing that comes to mind! But other then that no vegetarian options are available here.Parking: The parking is not too crowded but does become that way on every Friday and Monday.Kid-friendliness: I did see some kids come through here so it is also very kid friendly.“

“I grew up going here and had to go back on a recent trip home, it was such a pleasant surprise to see the bright and airy remodel, it looks so good! I've always been a fan of their food, the perfect crispy and sweet deep fried goodness you can't help but love. They've also added some new things to the menu too! We got the family style dinner special and it was even better than I remembered.Vegetarian options: The salt and pepper tofu is AMAZING“

“My husband and I came here for a late dinner with our two kids, 8 & 12, around 8pm on a Tuesday night. All the other customers were in the lounge section, we were the only ones in the entire restaurant area at that time. The food was amazing, even kids liked everything too! We ordered two of the dinner specials and it came with Large enough portions to feed two adults and two kids with still a bit more leftover!Quick and Friendly service, we will be back again soon!Kid-friendliness: My husband and I came here for a late dinner with our two kids, 8 & 12, around 8pm on a Tuesday night. “Honestly I love having a super cheap option for Chinese food but you really get what you pay for. I have only been 3 times and they have gotten my order wrong twice. Maybe they really don’t know what the difference is between chow mein, lo mein and sub gum but I do and now I’m pissed especially after arguing with the guy about what they gave me and he assured me it was the chow mein (translates to fried noodle) to which I got sub gum (which I hate). His words were “chow mein is not yellow noodle (yes it is) and it is actually the lo mein” (roughly translates to cold noodle)(and again I didn’t get either of those)Update- been getting the general tsao chicken with fried rice and side crab Rangoon like once a month for the last year! It’s the good kinda cheap Chinese food“

“I have eaten here for years. Great reasonably priced food. The food is like old school Chinese Food. The egg fu Yung is made with the vegetables and meat incorporated into the patties. They are light and flavorful. The sweet and sour chicken is perfect. They only do takeout.“

“Authentic and delish!! Salt and pepper combo is to die for! I’m a HUGE fan of the honey bbq spare ribs. So tender and the sauce is great, too. Honestly, have not had anything bad. Have an open mind - enjoy the tea and take your time with friends and try 3 things when you go. Makes for a great dinner and portions are large enough for 2 or 3.Parking: Lots of parking on the street on 67th. Park and walk a block or two. Safe neighborhood. Sometimes parking lot is open, usually the regulars park tandem in the lot but street is easy, never an issue.“

“Amazing food! Fresh, bright, clean, distinctive flavors. Had to try the Wasabi cream prawns. Really good, but rich, so dishes with good cut (acid, heat, picancy) to go back and forth with is recommended. Had exactly that with the beef and onion dish, which had assertive levels of white onion and/or ginger in some bites, and a nice moderate level of garlic and green onion. Also had the eggplant, which was quite nicely spicy, perfectly cooked, exactly what I was craving. This is far above the typical local Chinese restaurant, and for the same price. The only thing typical was the tea. It was fine, but I'd suggest they get better. Maybe trial a higher priced premium option. I'd pay more for tea that matches the level of their food.“

“It seems nearly impossible to find good Chinese Food in Portland, maybe because of the PNW's historical discriminatory and Sinophobic sentiments towards the Chinese people. If we were/are hurtful to them, maybe we don't get to experience their delicious cuisine now. I think in many ways that's fair, if that is the case. Okay, so it's probably not the case that we are deprived of their best food because of the history -- I'm just pondering this as I type. I wonder if you are still reading and if you are -- you must be willing to endure this long shpiel because you would like to know about the food. And now for the review. Once in a while my sweetie and I take a risk and hope we'll find yummy Chinese or Chinese inspired food. Most of the time she gets credit for finding the food because she does the investigating. She gets credit yet again today. We headed to 28 Tigers. Love their logo. The place is on SE 28th close to Gladstone. The menu was small-ish and we tried a few dishes. The food was nuanced, flavorful, and fresh cuisine. I'm not super into earthy flavors but tried the Crispy Mushroom Dumplings anyway. In doing so I was met with a well seasoned, crunchy outside shell with warm, soft, succulent thinly sliced mushrooms inside. Wow! Just the right balance of savory, soft, and crunch. I also enjoyed the Chicken Chow Fun -- the pieces of pulled chicken coupled with the wide soft noodles and thin slices of red pepper (red bell pepper) had an umami kind of flavor -- delicious and subtle --the spice mix on this was so pleasant and good. My main dish was Hong Kong Noodles with char siu pork and perfectly cooked greens. The pork reminded me of flavored pork from Chinese American restaurants I went to as a kid -- a positive experience then and now upon consuming this dish. We also shared an egg roll which had the same tasty crunchy shell as the dumplings. The place is simple, the food is thoughtfully prepared, and the service was great. They were also very helpful in offering food choices for my sweetie who needs gluten free options. I highly recommend.“

“They have authentic Orange Chicken! A lot of Chinese restaurants serve the Chicken and sauce separately to save money where you have to dip the chicken into the sauce. Not at Golden Taste! They actually take the time to cook the sauce INTO the chicken which is the way it should be done! Also their fried won ton is the best I had in a long time! Friendly staff and good atmosphere. This is my go to place from now on.“

“Great skewer place that opens late. I like that you’re able to adjust the amount of cumin on the skewers unlike the other places. The special drinks include lemon black tea and peach green tea that taste refreshing without an artificial flavor. Will be coming here again!Parking: The parking is shared in a plaza.“

“What a Portland experience. Two of us were walking when we found Xin Ding and chose it from other restaurants on the block. It was about 6:00 pm and we had less than a five (5) minute wait for a table. Mindy was our server. Our meal started with Egg Flower Soup which was the best we've ever had and our meal consisted of Orange Chicken (his favorite) and Seafood Fried Rice (my choice). We weren't disappointed. The food, service, and cost were all great! Although it got busy at around 7:00, our service was timely and helpful. Dumplings will be our next experience.“

“My son and I tried this place for lunch. The food was good. I had the noodles with shrimp, chicken, and tofu. The flavor was really nice. We tried the spicy wontons and had the chocolate rice balls for dessert. Both of these were very good. My son tried the sesame beef. The flavor was good, but it tasted more like a doughnut than beef. The sesame beef from hunan pearl is better, in my opinion. The rest of the food we had was great and will definitely go back.“

“Literally can't not tell you how amazing this place is. Not only are they the KINDEST humans, but the food was beyond incredible. I was craving shrimp, and it was not on the regular menu since it's a random special. Surprisingly, he said he had some and would make it for me. We had the lollipop garlic noodles which were DELICIOUS, tofu, the fried chicken, and shrimp garlic noodles. They were so accommodating. We will be back 1 million percent.“

“I'm stingy with 5-Stars, this earns more like 4.5, but heck, let's round up.Winner, Winner on taste and price, i.e., value. The first item is usually the most popular and that applies here: the pan fried rice cakes were excellent? The salted fish and chicken fried rice is one of the best versions I've tried. For certain, it's tops in Portland. The complementary tea was above average, while the iced limeade was oh so refreshing.Service was friendly and fast. Prices are more than fair. Ambiance is so-so as it seems like the seating layout could be improved to allow for more customers. Parking can be tough during peak hours. Lastly, they close way too early for an Asian restaurant, especially a popular tone.“

“I was surprised on this one. Just a little place for some Dimsum with flair . The menu is very limited. Service is also limited. You order on the board and you also pay there. Then they bring the food to your table. The use of modernism and minimalistic yet impersonal make this place unique. With very limited selections, the food was actually good. My favorites are Sesame noodles and meat folders.“

“First time I ordered here I got their general sows and they're fried rice. the fried rice was amazing the general shows were absolutely disgusting. The pieces of chicken were discolored and also humongous when I eat general sows I like it the pieces to be a little bit smaller with white meat and the The pieces of chicken were discolored and also humongous pieces! They were very blind and not tasty. I wanted to give them a second shot so the second time around I ordered their Singapore noodles Kung pao chicken and sesame beef and all 3 of them were absolutely wonderful and had a lot of flavor! I grew up going to a place called Chen Yens in the Laurel Hurst district and they had the best Chinese food I've ever had in my life but the closed and have been trying to find a place that can meet their standards. Ho ho restaurant has met those standards with those 3 items I just named. It's to bad about the General Tso chicken. Hopefully they will invest in better chicken and cut the pieces in to smaller ones. Also Lastly every Chinese restaurant I've been to has always stuffed the containers full and the sesame beef was half full when I paid for a dinner dish so please fix.“

“In a sea of Thai food, this is my white whale. I stumbled upon this place after having a deeply offensive experience at blutos. We were asked to go to the back of the line and wait again after already waiting 20 minutes, because they had too many tickets to put our ticket in as well. It was like being hit with a flash bang of gaslighting and snubbery. This inexplicable event happened on an evening when I was entertaining friends from out of town. This proverbial slap to the face came after a long day of hiking and little food. Now hangery and nearing the dreaded hour of nine in Portland, we used what little blood sugar we had left to high tail it to the nearest establishment. We walked into rudkiew at 8:45 feeling guilty, and hastily ordered our food. They whipped that work in ten minutes flat true to Thai form. It tasted like we were transported to Thailand and it brought pure elation to our wounded hearts, and that says everything you need to know. They also gave us free spring rolls to boot just to put the cherry on top. I’ve been going back ever since and it slaps everytime.“

“If you’re done with the unfriendly customer service that Portland is known for, then go to Taiji Teahouse to have your faith in humanity, and the service industry, restored. Seated in Portland’s Chinatown in the old Red Robe Teahouse location, you’ll find a charming place that serves light meals and the best tea in Downtown. Eric may even be able to spare a moment to sharpen the Chess-oriented part of your mind.“

“Massive portion sizes. Cheap/reasonable prices. Prompt service (<10 min). This food truck did not disappoint and is an incredible hidden gem. I ordered a Pepper-Salt Chicken and House Special Combination Chow Mein and both had heaping portion sizes like others mentioned and tasty flavor! The rice in particular was a little fried and had a unique (good) taste in comparison with the normal white rice you get. The chow mein was packed full of seafood and meat - more than worth the price of $16. The lady running the food truck was sweet and funny and produced those two dishes in under 10 minutes. Overall a delicious experience and will be returning next time I'm in Portland!“

“Food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent. All my friends loved it and said it might be some of the best food they’ve had.I’m just disappointed at the abysmal selection of vegetarian options.I’m unclear if I should not go to spots that don’t have vegetarian choices or if I should have higher expectations of places in Portland to have more vegetarian options that are more than an after thought.Vegetarian options: I’m highly disappointed at the abysmal selection of vegetarian options. “I was walking toward the river and I found this place . It's a cute small street food spot and the owner is so friendly. The service doesn't take long but it works like this : you order , he makes your food , you pay and then it's the next person turn . I ordered chicken yakisoba noodle. Good portion . Good price , taste good . But it was greasy and very salty. That's the reason I gave 4 stars . I am not living in Portland. Otherwise I would go there again .“

“Literally one of the best Chinese food places I’ve eaten at in the Portland area. I don’t understand any of the under 4-5 star reviews here! Everything we’ve tried from this place has been amazing, incredibly flavorful, nourishing and delicious. The Sour Won Ton Soup, Mongolian Beef Chow Mein, Kung Pao Chow Mein, any of their fried rice, and the rib dishes are some of our favorites. Very reasonably priced as well considering most restaurant pricing these days. They also have a yummy drink menu with bubble teas. Perfect place for a date night, family meal or getting takeout. “This is a wonderfully casual restaurant in an unexpected place. They have a small but diverse menu for all types of people. They offer a good selection of vegan and gluten free dishes. My favorite dish from this first visit was the brussel sprout salad. Cooked perfectly with just enough seasoning and a unexpected citrus twist with grapefruit segments. There's no shoyu or chili oil on the table but don't be discouraged. Everything comes perfectly seasoned and dressed. I can't wait to go back and know that my family will find something that they'll enjoy as well. Order at the counter and find a seat. They'll bus the table when you're done. “We tried BHP bc Hot Pot City was closed. Oh my. What a treat! If, like me, you are heartbroken that HPC closed, BHP has been waiting for you. Instead of AYCE, they bring out a mass of food. Plenty of beef and beautifully marbled pork. There was a basket of cabbage and bok choy. A tray w tofu, clear noodles, enoki mushrooms, meatballs and tofu sheets. Never had them before and they were quite tasty. And, the handmade noodles!! We had the split half spicy, half regular broth. My brother eats chile peppers whole. He could handle the spicy. I love spicy but next time I will go regular and dip in chile oil. The broth is very tasty even before you start cooking. I wish I saved room to drink it all, but we were stuffed. You could easily feed three and enjoy potsticker and more veggies. We will definitely be back!!Parking: BHP is setback from the street, in the back of the parking lot.i had a navigator who directed me. I would have passed it.“
