“Good beer selection, good atmosphere--but absolutely terrible food. Their bred and butter option always has some random compound butter --it was uncooked tumeric and ginger when we were there---which was inedible. When we asked for just basic butter, they didn't have it! Don't know how its possible to mess up bread and butter but they managed to do it. The other entrees are a bit on the oily side“

“Delicious food and considerate service! Each bite was full of amazing flavors that were unusual and yet worked together. The madelines are a must have. The chicken liver toast with pickled strawberries doesn't seem like it should work but it absolutely does. The 'fancy instant coffee' fit the vibe of the restaurant and was surprisingly good. I'll definitely want to return when the menu changes with the season.“

“I think a couple weeks to the menu would be needed. We noticed the same garnish with caviar on both hot and cold dishes. The caviar on the hot pork chop wasn't very pleasing. The pork chop definitely needed a pineapple salsa or sauce with it to cut through the fattiness of the chop and grits.“

Service was attentive, and all the wines were paired incredibly well. You can tell the owners are so passionate and excited to share their family culture - as they should be! They deliver on quality and enjoyment on a more objective level ultimately. My partner and I would both love to return. The Prix Fixe menu was a great choice and I recommend that, but either way you go I'm sure you would enjoy whatever you choose.“

“What a great experience. Our party of four was there for brunch. I had apple fritters with side of amazing Hungarian sausage with homemade mustard. - exceptionally good! My wife and daughter had baked pancakes with plums, the other with raisins. Very unique, very good as well. One man runs the whole restaurant from kitchen to table. Loved the experience.“

“I heard how amazing the food and overall experience was at Cabezon from a foodie friend so I made reservations for 6 a couple weeks before we got to Portland for our visit to the University of Portland. The time came and we arrived to a really cool place, neat decor, comfortable and homey feeling. We were greeted by a very nice woman who gave us a place to sit and delivered our drink order very quickly while we waited for our table. Table was ready quick, our waiter was awesome and we quickly had apps on our table. I am a commercial fisherman from San Diego, so my seafood standards are very high. The mussels were great, shrimp bisque were excellent, the shrimp app was ridiculously well paired. The cheddar mac and cheese was rich and tender. 5 of us ordered the chopino and 1 ordered the lamb sirloin. They were both AMAZING. The chopino just kept giving, the juice was so good we got more bread to soak it up. We all agreed we will go to this place every single time we visit our kids up in Portland. The entire experience was 5 stars from start to finish. I will add the prices are very reasonable for the quality they are serving. The dessert menu sounded great but we all ate too much so that will be next trip.“

“This is a great first date place. The food presentation was outstanding. However, we felt it was a little blan. They use RC soda products here, which are flat at the bar but have carbonation if gotten from the back. Amazing happy hour!

“Cozy neighborhood vibes. Had to remind myself it is a bar. Kinda loud, but then again it is a bar. Scored low on service because there is zero table service. You have to keep getting up to order at the bar. Good burger and fries. Trout chips and dip was different but tasty. Overall good experience.“

“We can always count on Olympia Provisions to provide us with a truly pleasurable experience. The food is always impeccably prepared and delicious. The wait staff is excellent, attentive and genuinely concerned about our experience. The ambience - lighting, decor, etc is enjoyable, too. “Went here as a early Mother’s Day treat with my daughter. Had the sample plate…. So delicious and we learned we liked it all! Also got a sundae….. totally recommend. For take home I got the cookies. This place is a gem! Stop by and check it out for sure if you are ever in the area.“

“I had a memorable dinner at Higgins Restaurant. I ordered their Oregon Mushroom Set Menu, and each dish reflected their respect for local ingredients. The wild mushroom bisque was particularly delicious, with a smooth texture and rich aroma. The waiter was very professional and attentive, explaining the background of each dish. The elegant yet relaxed atmosphere was perfect for a leisurely meal with friends or family.“

“I am rarely so pleased with a place and experience that I take the time to let the internet know.

I have certain food restrictions due to my religion, and are not able to have a lot of breakfast favorites because they often have pork. I was so happy to see eggs Benedict with veggie sausage and biscuits and gravey with non-pork options (elk and mushroom).

The drinks too! Veg bloody maries! The Rosemary Paloma was great too.

My server Mars was awesome and is great at what they do. When I mentioned it was my birthday, they said they'd cover my drink for me!

I found this place while visiting from out of state and I hope to come back again before I leave!

“Tried the Rum Club on a whim while staying down the street and can't wait to go back! The happy hour punch was a steal at $5 and the pineapple fried rice was a huge portion for 2 of us to share. We also tried both the Burning Son & Doors and Corners cocktails, both were delicious. Service was great, friendly and attentive.“

“Hands down one of the best sandwich places I’ve had. Fully appreciate the variety of the vegetarian friendly sandwiches. “Flavorful chicken thighs- very well seasoned! Dan Dan fries are among the best I have ever had- fresh flavors and fries stayed crunchy even in all the yummy peanut sauce!! Huge portions… well too big for a lady to finish! :-) requested hot sauce in the side, glad we did as it was pretty spicy.“

“My son stopped at Bastions this past June 2025 and purchased 2 good sizes of your coffee cake. It was exceptional and so moist. We couldn't put our forks down! We're the ones who purchased a pecan pie from bastions last Christmas and a pumpkin pie last Thanksgiving. Both outstanding! Everything we've tried is excellent including the donuts. “This was really a lovely dining experience. It definitely leans into the small plate for sharing/ vibe. The dishes were really unique and pleasant. Two standouts were the miso succotash which was a real surprise, and the burnt basque cheesecake which was so lovely in taste and texture. It can be a bit loud for the older set; there is dining al fresco available. There is a nice selection of wines by the glass.“

“The Cajun fries were really good. I also had a yummy IPA.

We sat outside at the outdoor patio with our dogs and the staff was so nice. They got our dogs a bowl of water and even bit a dog treat in half themselves so they could each have a half.

We happened to be there for drag bingo which was so fun!“
